Unless Sean Taylor is suspended then Ryan Clark and Pierson Prioleau both fall over dead, we should not see him anyways out there.

That sucks because both Renaldo and Randy Thomas got broken bones from collisions with their own teammates.

Ok here's a twist. They just reported via Joe Gibbs press conference that not only did Snyder use his own plane to transport Renaldo but his wife (Snyder's) stayed with Renaldo the entire time. They thought they were going to do surgery down there and she was by his side the entire time. Then she ended up flying home with him. Now that's a classy lady. I'm extremely impressed.

And here I thought she was just some rich blonde bimbo.

Would I be the only person who thinks we should rest CP for this game? At the least just dont start him... This guy isn't going to hold up if we keep using him every game. Betts isn't as good but a RB needs to get warmed up and to keep switching them out wont allow a groove to be found.

You'd be the only one of the two of us.

Rest our bread and butter? I think you have to get what you can out of him at this late stage... there are no tomorrows if you lose.

CP is an animal. I think we already half-rested him in the Bucs game... you could see CP on the sidelines wanting to go back in when Betts was in at the end.

He'll be good to go. This man's a football player and will thrive on the opportunity... dinged up or not.

I DO think that we will platoon Betts earlier and more often though. We may even work on some specific between the tackles plays for him this week... but I'd be surprised if Clinton doesn't get the ball 20 times on Saturday.

I guess I only feel that way because I feel confident that Betts could run on this Seattle defense consistently. Betts wasn't doing any worse than Clinton was against the Bucs. CP is nowhere near 100%

Anyone worried about Portis injury, I don't know the extent of it, if its stingers I am not. But if its serious shoulder problems I am. Does anyone know what exactly it is.

As soon as the whistle blows to start the game, he'll be fine.

...until he re-injures it.

at the 2nd whistle of the gaming blowing our 1st run from scrimmage dead. Im very worried about his shoulder, it doesn't seem to just be sore anymore. I think he's going to need a lot of rest on that bad boy.

CP will be fine - he can take off on Feb 6th, go to Miami and get back to DC on March 1, all rested and ready to get back in the program.

Portis will get 20 plus carries on Saturday but I think Betts will be used a lot more also. This is what all these guys did all that extra work for this past off-season. It was so that when they got in the playoffs they would still be ready to go. Portis will try to get more work this week than the coaches will allow - he's ready.

Im not worried about Portis being sore. If he's sore he needs to suck it up. The thing is, sore doesn't make your arm appear to be dead for 3 consecutive weeks. Im not looking past the hawks but I know we can beat them. I see us moving past them and I want this boy healthy for the big game because I can taste it. I dont see this injury being minor, I think its serious business but I trust that the team will cater to what needs to be done.

I understand what you're saying and the injury may be more serious than it appears. As we agree - they are all sore right now and, as you say they just have to suck it up. I also agree that we can most likely win the ground game by not using Portis as much as Betts is no slouch with the ground game as well.

I guess what Boss Hog and I are saying that Portis is one of those very special RBs that this sort of injury is not going to be helped (or hurt) by letting him carry the ball 20-25 times. Not 30-35! This is a guy who just needs to be on the field IMO.

I also hope that your fears are not as bad as this might be as he is going to be needed the next 2 games, and he would be more inportant then than this week.
Your point is well taken Chris I just think he would not be on the field too much if Tyer did not want him there despite what Portis wants.

Great points, I understand where you're coming from. Hopefully Gibbs will take it easy on the boy this week and he'll be a little better this week. I think the Bucs defense banged him up a bit more than any other team has. There were no holes and a pile insued after every run. We wont see that this week.

I think Portis will dominate on this field just like he did at St Louis. Those cupcake teams out west love to play on that Minature Golf surface so that can skate around smiling and padding their stats.

Well this weekend our defense will punch their teeth in and Portis will break a few outside runs on that surface.
