You should give the guy a few more seasons (and a few more blue chip players - no one can do it alone in football) before you say that. Few QB's excel as rookies. Our own rookie QB hasn't even been on the field yet.

In fact, I would venture to suggest there are more first round busts than success stories.

That's certainly true at QB. Tim Couch, Heath Shuler, Andre Ware, Akili Smith, and on and on and on . . .

You're suggesting that we get rid of a ton of proven leaders for rookie potential. That's insane.

I think wormer is violating some "don't drink and post" rule.

The jury is definately still out on Alex Smith, we'll see as he progresses. I was more referring to this year, though.

And yes, based on his posts this guy is most certainly on something.
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

Matt L. and Reggie Bush may be great NFL stars. Leinhart will need some time to acclimate moreso, IMO, than Reggie Bush. He'll be a star from day 1. We traded picks last year to get Jason Campbell who is learning and preparing to guide our franchise post-Brunell, whenever that is. Portis is our franchise back: young, talented, and a team leader. We've got serviceable backups in Betts, the Rock, and Boughton.

Our focus in the draft ought to be depth and quality players, a-la Chris Cooley. We certainly don't need any high-priced young pri-madonnas stinking up the veteran locker room chemistry. Just my My 2 cents .

Imagine all the good guys we could get for Brunell, Portis, Ramsey and Campbell. Brunell is getting old and none of the other guys have every won anything.

Bush and that Lionhart guy have won a National Championship AND the Hiesman trophy which is only for the BEST player in the country!!!

They are winners and better than what we have anyway so we could do some trades and get lots of other good guys PLUS add the 2 best players from the 2 past years.

If coach gibb or mr. snyders reads this board, trust me, you should pick both these guys now!!!

is that guy from louisville, elvis dumerville, a senior? he had a great season and we could use him. i think he plays DT, but he's def got the speed to move outside to DE, with a little coaching from GWilliams. might be worth the investment, though.
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Hail to the Redskins!
