I thought according to the new rules there is nothing against division rivals playing against each other in the first playoff game.
And to think about it playing the Giants again would almost be like the unoffical NFC East title game.

I'd much rather play against Tampa in the playoffs. The Giants on the other hand have too many offensive weapons for me to be comfortable playing them, whereas Tampa Bay will probably be pretty easy to keep in check, especially after what happened the first go around.

The she-males are not losing at home to St louis-- Let's win and atone that robbery in pirate land

Having another door into the playoffs is nice but I'd rather that the team enter the playoffs on a five-game winning streak than a one-game losing streak

we definitely want to play in Tampa...there crowd noise is less effective. They dont have as many threats or big playmakers on offense. They only won that game because everytime Brunell got touched he fumbled and that wont happen again. The skins do not have a good history of going to New York. The Bucs are very similar to us except we have better play and more experience at the QB position. Im gonna be honest that the only 2 teams I dont want to see in the playoffs are the panthers and Giants. I think we will crush the bears and beat the Bucs. The seahaws I believe we math up very well and we already dominated them earlier this year. They are far from unstopable.

God I hope the Giants lose on Saturday. I think there will be absolutely
NO CHANCE the Skins will look passed the Eagles if they can potentially win the NFC East, if the Giants fall.
LET'S GO RAIDAHS

yeah, lets not get to far ahead of ourselves, lets just focus on beating the eagles.

Im focused on the Eagles this week, and in all honesty we have beaten every team from the NFC that will make the playoffs except Carolina.
We beat the Bears, beat the Seahawks and beat the Bucs (Alstott's elbow was down then and is still down now)
Anyhow...we just need to beat the Eagles because if we win we are in, I don't want to depend on the Cowboys for our playoff chances especially since they are 13 pt favs at home against the Rams.

Like he has the personnel left to do what we did.

Agreed. Don't take any chances. Just win it and get it over with.
I'm with you guys...
Win and get in.
Then we can look at what happens....
If that team on Texas wins after we have but put the "W" in the books for our game they can still get in...
if the Bucs also lose it would be...
1. Seattle (14-2 or 13-3)
2. Chicago (12-4 or 11-5)
3. Washington (10-6)
4. Carolina (10-6)
5. N.Y. Giants (10-6)
6. That team in Texas (10-6)

That team in Texas would visit Fed-Ex in round one

It's VERY RARE that a team can beat another team 3 times in one year, I'd rather them not get in!

Can you imagine what that game would be like....

It would be utter mayhem!

I'd rather that team in Texas all get busted in a drug raid with BP right in the middle of it

I'd worry if we had any other coach. Gibbs has kept these boys rooted in reality. The Pukes wouldnt stand a chance against us.

Man.
Doesn't it just kill you that if Carolina had beaten Dallas (which they would've if not for that horrible blown call) we would already be in the playoffs.
If that call is right the Skins clinch a playoff berth last night with the Ravens win. Then we could watch the Giants game Saturday night and if the Giants win we could just rest our guys next Sunday in what would be a meaningless game.
Carolina got screwed and so did we.
Counting Chickens? Please wait ...

Ok please don't take what I'm about to say as negative ... because it is not meant to be.
I see too many threads talking about:
1.) What we'll do in the p-word
2.) How far we'll go in the p-word
3.) etc...
We need to WIN @ Philly first before we can rest a bit easy in regards to the p-word. The players and fans do not want to overlook the Eagles. They are still dangerous and would love to play spoiler to us. The 4-0 run we're on right now means jack if we don't win against Philly and the team from Texas wins their last game against the Rams.
We need to win and get in before we can allow ourselves the luxury of talking about who we might beat in the p-word, etc... yes, I've been bad about this too but I want us all to focus on the game at hand first.
So root for your Redskins, the Raiders and the Rams this coming weekend. But please don't start thinking about the p-word yet. Its been too many years since we've been there and we need to keep our fingers crossed and approach this game like Coach Gibbs would.
Ok so who's with me ?
Editor's Note- You'll notice I say p-word. Its b/c you don't want to jinx it by actually saying the word. Its like talking about a no hitter or a shutout while the game is being played.

This is no longer the case. There is no rule against first round game against division member. It's strictly by seeding.

The way I see the playoff picture is simple: W=In, L= Golf.

The Giants are in the playoffs win or lose in Oakland. The Cowboys need some help! Both teams are favored!
The pukes and the g-strings should be aware of what happened in Cincinnati last week. The Bengals lost to the Bills, at home, in a game that really meant something, seeding wise!
The Beagles were heavily favored to beat the Bills in every facet of the game - guess what, they lost!
We just need to win this game, this week.
