The Hogster wrote:So whats your "Warm-O-Meter" for Lavar this week. You've been claiming that you were 'warming up' to Lavar, I think its pretty clear that you can retract all your disparaging remarks about Lavar, he is proving that not only is he MUCH better than Holdman, but he is one of the 3 best players on our defense.
Well, for starters, I cringed at the audio byte of his calling Norv "his guy", during the week. However, yes, he is certainly making plays on defense, BUT, is it just me, or has the team struggled with the return of Lavar?? What's our record with him starting over Holdman?? I say "BRING BACK HOLDMAN"!!! He's clearly the cog that kept this team winning.

On a related note: I thought it was amusing to hear Lavar say yesterday after the game (when prodded by reporters): "It's time-out for talking...", and, yet he proceeded to go on and on about the team. You'd think that he'd stop talking when he made the declaration about not talking, but, ehhh, what can you do?

Portis had a rough game on turnovers, but otherwise ran as expected. He's an elite back and his leadership skills are invaluable.

Okay, unlike you, I will bite: When are things NOT GOING BAD??? When we are beating up on chumps like the 49'ers and the Eagles without Owens, or the Cowboys with 2 lucky Hail Mary's?
Has Gibbs or anyone on this team shown any sense of urgency for our situation?? I think not.

Portis has played hard for us all year. Even though our running style isn't exactly made for him what did he do in the off season? yeah he put on some weight so he could handle the load.
On top of all this he's beat up. Even after getting his big pay check from us he's not 100% healthy and still playing every week for us.
Not only running the ball, but makes good blocks and important catches. Portis is the man and I think we made out good with that trade.

While they don't directly contribute to blown coverages and such, the fumbles swing the field position advantage to opponents, and for this offense, that is crucial. We cannot turn the ball over, even if he runs for 300 yds in the previous game. He cannot get a free pass because of a pretty costume or funny interview.
I'm not hatin' on him, but I can't ignore the fact that his fumbles (not Clinton) ruined the flow of the offense and kept the Faiders in the game. I want him to regain his form, and play consistently throughout the remainder of the season.
The same goes to the rest of the team.
Point well taken....

TO was not the difference in our win. This is the same Eagles team from last year. YOu are the ultimate pessimist. Just say something positive about our team for once!
