The answers dcd are "It isn't!" and "It can't!". They can make this stuff and I'm sure some people will buy it but that doesn't make it a Redskins' jersey. I wonder who could authorise this, I mean, if it is available then someone thinks they are going to sell a bunch of them not just a few! NO WAY!

Danny boy is trying to make money once again. Why not bring out a new jersey and get millions off of it, right?
Maybe not this time. :?

I wanted them to have some burgundy and/or gold in it somewhere. Everyone else has their colors in their black jereseys.

my thoughts exactly

Bloody awful. Nothing to do with the Redskins. Makes no sense. No burgundy + no gold = no way.

No way Joe ever goes for that...

Hard to believe that even DS, who took a $600m franchise to a little over $1.3 billion, could make an "error" like that!!
IMO - DS does not make that decision!

on the 70th aniversary, the jerseys were more brown than burgundy and I didn't like em. this one makes the brown ones look amazing.

Word to the wise to the Skins organization, stick to burgundy and gold.

The Danny paid $800 million for the team, and the current value is just over a billion. Still a good job, but not quite the turnaround you described.

You're right JSBP! It was 800 but the present value ($1.3b) is still indicative of someone who would not be stupid enough to try those black jerseys! Maybe black but not what I have seen!

I personally find an appreciation of $500 million dollars to be pretty impressive. :)

When I first saw that I thought he was wearing an Iggles jersey

Suddenly realised that even the Iggles aren't stoopid enough to wear something that bad :puke:

 Who isn't impressed by that? For all of his on-field blunders, Snyder is unquestionably a helluva businessman.

Alright, I checked to make sure, and Forbes has the Skins listed at about 1.3 billion.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2005/30/Rank_1.html

So, that's only $400 million in 6 years. I hope I've done that much by the time I'm 40 years old. . .

What's a 100 million between friends! I think DS has done a good job staying out of things lately, Joe is totally in charge of all things to do with football.

Again, I do not think that DS had anything to do with a jersey that looks like the one pictured. I think black might be a marketable item but not a black one like that!

I know earlier posting on this board I said those jerseys were hideous. Although I like keeping our tradition, those jerseys wouldnt look all that bad with our helmets. Maybe if we just wore them for one game, nearly every team has an alternate jersey.

The NFL is all about the $$$$ so don't be suprised if they wear them atleast once in the upcoming year(s).

My 2 cents

1,300,000,000 - 800,000,000 = 500,000,000.

It's still a good return on his investment.

I originally wrote 1.2 billion before seeing that it was actually 1.26 (or so) that is rounded up by Forbes themselves. I went back and edited the first, but not the second part.

Oh well, it's hard to expect better things out of me these days, I suppose. . . :)

There is nothing lamer than alternate black jerseys. I can't believe people would actually buy these thing and think they are cool just b/c they are black. What's wrong with burgundy and gold?

I just pray we never actually wear these.

i used to have a t-shirt that was black with a silver redskins logo which looked pretty badass, maybe they are trying to market that look--i just dont like the black and white, if they wanted to make it look cool and perhaps sell a couple of those things, make them silve and black. i know those are raiders colors, but they want an alternate jersey and that's fine by me if its silver and black

I don't know how many times I am going to have to repeat this to you all... but merchandise revenue is SHARED EVENLY AMONG THE 32 NFL TEAMS.

Think about that for a second before you continually put 'merchandise marketing' in Danny's court.

The NFL did post it's throwback/alternate jersey games. There were no mention of the Redskins using one this season. Only thing the Skins changed was there sox scheme. Espn.com has a guy who covers all the jersey changes ect. Many teams come out with funky looking jerseys that are not going to be used in a game. I used to always see these all yellow Vikings jerseys that were never intended for games. When I lived in Minnesota. There is no way the Skins would wear them. I would like to see the 2002 70th. jersey come back in the future. I liked that look..........

:puke: I have a weak stomach

we better not be wearing them on the Raiders Game!
