Home teams automatically get 3 points. So, what they are really telling you is that the difference is so small that the game could be called either way for less than a Field Goal.

Agreed. The Giants have caught my attention this year.
I didn't realize how bad the Giants defense was until today but that doesn't make me feel much more confident about the game.
I still think it will be close.

* 2nd best offense against the 2nd worst defense
* mediocre offense (15th) against #4 defense
there is no reason whatsoever this game should even be close. 34-21 redskins.

It shouldn't be but in our two losses we beat ourselves. If we can avoid that then we'll be fine. Im hoping that our scrimmage against the 9ers will instill a trend and will get execution, self preservation and rushing the QB a mainstay for the team. Sometimes some encouragement and success like we had against the 9ers regardless of how bad they are can create a spark. I think that game got as amped up. I really believe that Portis will began a streak.

With the exception of the 49ers game, all of our games (and the fans) have been nailbiters.
How soon we forget...

it will be closer than that but the skins pull this ome out by a touchdown 24-17.division games will be important as they move along down the stretch.

Yes, they will not reach the end zone against our squad.

I'd be surprised if it is not a close game as it is in the division and it always seems to be close, in scoring anyway. We have outplayed them a lot in the past only to lose and this team seems to play very well against us in NJ.
The stats (D & O) favor the Skins but stats do not win games or affect the bookies. The betting line is predicated on bets placed and the line is only affected by how much money the bookies take in on each team. There are a lot of crazy people in NY (or wherever) if they think that they should give 3 points to the better team (on paper at least) that is just stupid. I guess it is NY! That is primarily why the line has come down a point to -2.
I like the way we are playing as a team right now and firmly believe they cannot beat us this week -
we have to play badly to lose. They can play well and still lose because they do not match up well at any position. Their best players are not as good as the players they match up with on the Redskins' side and we are far superior in coaching.
End of story! As another NY broadcaster might say "Redskins win!...Ttthhhhhe Reddsskkinnnss win!...Thhhhhhe Redskins win!"
with thanks to a J Sterling!

I'm going with a 17-10 victory. I don't think we're getting out of the teens on this game, either of us!

34-17 Skins. We have the #2 ranked offense going up against the 31st ranked defense. Can you smell what the Moss is cooking?!

yes-- it will be an extremely tense 0-0 game throughout the first 55 minutes, until the redskins sack manning in the endzone for a safety. upon receiving the ensuing kick, they score 14 consecutive touchdowns followed by successful onside kick recoveries, each total series lasting about 21 seconds each.
brunell throws 60 yards to moss, TD. onside kick, recovered.

over and over and over and over again.
brunell's final stats:
1,082 yards, 14 TDs
moss's final stats:
973 yards, 14 TDs

The Giants came back and edged Denver. The Redskins came back and lost by a hand. The Giants won on a dry field at home. It's tough to play at Giant Stadium if you aren't the Giants (and sometimes if you are the Giants and the crowd gets snarly).
Agreed Welch. Look how evenly matched most the stats among the two teams are:
REDSKINS
Offense
Brunell, 1,492 passing yards and 12 passing TDs;
Portis, 544 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs;
Moss, 38 receptions, 743 receiving yards and 5 receiving TDs.
Defense
Cornelius Griffin, 3 sacks;
Sean Taylor and Lemar Marshall, 1 INT.
Rushing Offense -- 139.8 yards per game (4th in NFL);
Passing Offense -- 247.3 ypg (8th);
Total Offense -- 387.1 ypg (2nd).
Rushing Defense -- 108.5 ypg (15th);
Passing Defense -- 157.5 ypg (4th);
Total Defense -- 266.0 ypg (4th).
GIANTS
Offense
Manning, 1,414 passing yards and 12 passing TDs;
Barber, 483 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs;
Burress, 36 receptions, 535 receiving yards and 5 receiving TDs.
Defense
Michael Strahan, 5 1/2 sacks;
Shaun Williams, 2 INTs.
Rushing Offense -- 108.5 yards per game (17th);
Passing Offense -- 223.7 ypg (13th);
Total Offense -- 332.2 ypg (15th).
Rushing Defense -- 116.0 ypg (21st);
Passing Defense -- 295.8 ypg (31st);
Total Defense -- 411.8 ypg (31st).
Their passing defense is their weakest link.

I think no single stat is important when you play a division rival, specially when you are away.
Redskins 24
G-men 20
