Just look at the rest of the season.
We have wins against San Fran, Arizona and St. Louis (we can't loose to those teams) That gives us 6 wins.
If we just go 4-4 against the rest of the teams on the schedule that makes us 10-6. There aint a wild card coming from the Central and the West is weak also.

I think we will make the playoffs but i would be just as happy to just have a winning season. Especially if we manage to beat philly at least once hopefully twice.

I really believe we are almost very good and we will be in the playoffs. I also think that the pukes and gints finish at 8-8 or maybe 9-7.
There just are not many teams playing very well right now and I think that we are going to be getting a lot better as this season gets along a little more. The key will be to avoiding the injury hit that seems to be getting to some of these teams who just do not have any quality depth.

I don't make a lot of predictions, but I think 12-4 or 11-5. NFC East Champs.
Who knows??

I can't seem to vote. The results come up instead of the voting option. Anyway, I'll go with the winning season choice.

And I thought that it was just me! couldn't vote but just wanted to speak up and was a little tired of all the speculation about "what is wrong with you know who" so I thought I'd resurrect this old thread! Maybe that's why it does not work anymore! it's like me - too old!
Hey! - anyway it's good to see you back again tcw!

Oh, I'm around...the place has a different feel for me lately, so it's not so much a big deal to miss a day here and there.
Anyway, the poll is likely expired...you have that option when you create the poll...having it run only so many days.
See you, Jocko.

I just got through watching as much as I could of both the gints and puke games and these 2 teams are NOT going to be in the playoffs. They are both very lucky and are not playing very good football at this stage of the season.
Looks like fat boy is really "comfy" with his assistants - what an embarrassment to the NFL this guy is.

I think the Skins are becoming more and more solid. Running the football is critical - and the O-line is meshing, gelling and eager to pound people. Our already very good D, is even better with Arrington knocking snot bubbles outta QB's...
Originally, I thought we'd be a playoff team. Now, after we beat the G-strings - I think we can take the East! If we can take the East, then there isn't anyone in the NFC we can't beat. Who Knows? Another Ring?
Sorry to the folks that I cut off the response date a bit too early for the poll question - lesson learned

I'm lovin' that Jumbo package, with Ray Brown lining up at tight end.

The good thing is that we already beat Seattle and the Bears. If, by some chance, those teams have records that put them in the Wildcard hunt, we would have the head-to-head advantage over them. I like this team's chances to make the playoffs this year. Perhaps the NFC East is within reach....but I don't care about that, really. The playoffs are my focus.

Just reading this again - I would only add that I am even more conviced about our success this year because of the lack of quality play on the other teams in the NFC and even in our own division. Yes, these 4 teams are all pretty even right now but I think you are going to see the pukes and gnats losing some games here and the iggles have some huge concerns with #5's health and ability to contribute much. The iggles are at about 74-26 pass vrs run. That is not a way to be very good in this division.
So, I am looking at us in the playoffs. I think we will be playing better football as we get further into the season, and, because the other teams are not showing me they are very good or likely to get better.
This is a big game for us and with the offensive line playing so well I see this as a win.
The neat thing is we are getting much better than we thought possible in this amount of time and some of the other quality teams are not showing much.
The possibilities are a little scary.

Hey Scott! Did you see that grin on his face through the face mask? Well, you were probably at the game, but he had a huge grin when he broke out of the huddle - he's 40+ and looking to flatten some kid! Gotta love it!
sorry about getting off topic!

Three teams will make the playoffs from the NFC East. The next two weeks will determine whether or not we will be one of them. If we go 0-2 we definetely won't. If we go 1-1 we probably will but it isn't guarenteed by any means. If we go 2-0 against the G-Strings and the Eagles we will defenitely make the playoffs and have a huge advantage contending for the division.

I'm sorry, not! - this team is too well rounded and playing too well, PLUS the other teams are not showing me any reason to be concerned. I still think 10-6 is very doable even if we are at 4-4.

If the skins win the East, they will most likely get a bye in the first round time to heal up and with Joe and company can beat the division winner and go the the NFC championship game facing either the Eagles or ATL. after that who knows.
Assuming no serious injuries and the D holding up, especially the secondary. We have a chance with our improving O, the next three games will seriously show us where we stand. Still a long season ahead and we are in a tough tough division all contenders, but the skins are showing the most improvement week to week. Iggles are hanging on to last season, Giants are looking better, Dallas is up and down but can win any Sunday. All about consistency in the NFC East.
Go 05-06 Skins...
But one game at a time, the G-strings first, time to drop your panties NYC.

Even better, I had the opportunity to speak to him since last week's game and he is very happy getting playing time without having to start.

To get back on topic

I will say that the team is playing like they are enjoying being a part of the success that is the present Redskins.
We all are into how the individuals are doing comapared to last year but I think that what Gibbs and Williams in particular (and all the coaches, I'm sure) are looking for, is, these players playing together and working and winning together. I was watching some of the line blocking on offense last week (admittedly against the 9er's) but it is a thing of beauty.
Look out g-strings, the boys on the O line are begining to remind us of some pretty good players.

We need a new option in this poll. Nothing quite seems to fit after yesterday.

Yesterday we did get are butts whipped, but I am not that upset with the loss, I think with all that was going on in that organization such as Wellington Mara passing away, I think Indy would have been whipped up on. We did look awefull but we can fix the mistakes, remember this is still Joe Gibbs second year, and we are already a lot better off than last year. We need to win against Philly and we will see the Giants in our house on our terms. We beat Dallas at Dallas, should I repeat that, we beat Dallas at Dallas, we will take care of them at home also.
No need to panic, today sucks for all of us, but we need to let it go after tonight and start thinking about Philly.

I think this shallacking should re-focus our team for the remainder of the season. I think the Defense in particular needs to quit worrying about stats and focus on staying ahead of the offenses.
I hate Jimmy Johnson, but he made a good point. He mentioned that Buddy Ryan told him that his aggressive blitzes always worked great in the beginning of the year, but when teams got to look at what he was doing on film, they could scheme against it effectively.
That is precisely what has happened to our defense. Teams have seen who we bring and notice the open places on the field...if we don't start to show blitz and come out of the blitz, teams will continue to exploit our agressive style. We can't expect to blitz 2 line backers and a corner and not have other teams figure out what is open.
By the way...Holdman was benched altogether in the second half.
