BroncoJoe,
Did someone say they were going to ban you?

Sorry for the temporary lapse. No one threatened banishment.

Must have been my public education. (had to get that in)

I'm looking forward to a good game on Sunday. I will say this: I'm a bit concerned about the 7 point spread... Don't think I'll wager my mortgage payment this week.

Stop acting like a troll. Why would you be banned you'll be trolling around some other team site soon enough.

Check your PM... You won't get a laugh out of it though

You both were wrong for the personal attacks. He called out you and skinspride1. SP1 ( ) did the right thing and didn't reply back with something just as ignorant. Or maybe he hasn't been in the thread since he made the comment. Regardless, stick to the rules and we'll make sure that offenders are notified.

This is the dumbest thread I've ever seen on any football site. The comparison is no comparison.

Stats mean nothing. Wins mean something. Super Bowl wins mean everything.

We are going to stomp all over your sorry asses on Sunday.

RayNAusten makes a great point about Brunell's stats comparing favorably with Elway's. They obviously do. Take it or leave it. He didn't say anyone was better than anyone else.
However, I would like to make a few remarks about Elway. He was a terrific QB, not great-- his stats aren't great, he wasn't great. He lost a lot of superbowl games too and spent much of his career in an inferior league. Further, he was not an elusive runner or especially speedy, nor did he break tackles. Brunell is a better runner than Elway was, and he was, in fact, almost as good a passer at one time. If Brunell has truly regained his form he might well last as long as Elway and end up with a couple of rings. Who know?
One thing's for certain. Brunell is a hell of a lot better looking than Elway. Elway is not only effeminate, but has buck teeth and a goofy look, whereas Brunel has the manly good looks of a virile auto mechanic. So there.

Thanks crazyhorse1 ! You understand what I was saying. And you are absolutely right about Brunell being a better runner. He also has a much better TD to INT ratio, and a better career QB rating. That doesn't make him a better QB, and I never said or even insiuated such thing. I just put out the facts, and they are what they are.

So for all of you that have responded so negatively, please come down off the high horse, and lets not put words in peoples mouths here. And let's not create a new religion and start praying to Elway bobble head dolls, LOL.

As for those who feel I was attacking anyone personally, I wasn't. I was just being a bit facetious about the public education comment because it seems either my post was totally misunderstood, or some are attempting to mis-represent it. But in all truthfulness, BroncoJoe, let me correct a couple of things....first, I was not privately educated.....I too attended public schools, but that was long ago, and there has been a significant decline in the quality of public education.....do some research, and you might find out about that.

But thank you anyway for the compliment "young man". But let me ask you this....
what do you mean "Elway and Williams were not on the field at the same time"? Are you suggesting Elway wasn't the QB when we kicked the Broncos arse 42-10? Or are you just stating the obvious, that both offenses don't play at the same time? Because Elway was the QB, and threw a TD on the very first play of the game....but did nothing much after that except run for his life and witness the most astounding spanking ever to take place in a single quarter of an NFL game.

I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by Bronco fans for that game, and enjoyed the stunned disbelief on their faces when the Redskins scored 35 points in less than 7 minutes.

Yes, I was stating the obvious. They wern't on the field at the same time, so in effect, Williams did not beat Elway, the Redskins beat the Broncos. And like all other Superbowls the Broncos played in, save one, it was solely Elway's talent and drive to win games that got us there. The teams, for the most part weren't very good until '97 & '98.

Stats are stats, and represent nothing but numbers. Want to talk about wins? Mr. Elway is the winningest QB in NFL history. Let's let Mr. Brunell do something other than put up descent stats before we heap all kinds of praise and comparisons to great QB's on him.

The significant decline in public education happened several years ago, and at least in Colorado, we now have one of the highest rated school districts in the country. Can't speak for D.C.

DC doesn't need you speaking for them or us. Before you start throwing shots at the education system over here in the NATIONS CAPITAL, check your facts first BroncoJoe. The Redskins play in Landover, MD not Washington DC, so if you want to compare school systems compare CO with VA or MD. Washington DC the city is represented by the Washington Redskins as is Virginia and Maryland. Northern Virginia and Montgomery County have if not the highest rated school sytem in the nation, one of them, http://www.fcps.edu/statis.htm. Based on a research done to measure the best school systems in the country one study http://www.governmentguide.com/research_and_education/smartstate.adp rates VA at 12, MD at 18 and CO at 21. Comparing the State of Colorado and the District of Columbia is almost as asinine as this whole thread has been.

If you would like to argue about school systems you can take this chat to the lounge.

That all being said, i loved watching Elway play and ill repeat my statement from earlier. I saw John Elway play and Mr. Brunell you are NO John Elway.

Here's to a great game on sunday broncojoe!! Good luck.

I hate Jim Rome, Lenny Fatboy, Peter King, all things Dallas Cowboys and all Redskins haters!

Dude - relax, man. I simply said I can't speak to the system in DC because I don't know it. I do intend to look at your link, however because it's a subject I'm interested in and passionate about.

As far as the game this Sunday, I never wish a team we're playing "good luck", but I am hoping for a good game! And as I've stated before, I'm a bit nervous about the spread - 7 points is a bit much, don't you think? See ya Monday

Elway was awesome. He was able to take absolutely crappy offenses to the championship game. When he had a good team behind him, he delivered.

Personally, I'm glad he's retired for todays game, almost as much as I was glad Aikmen is retired for the Dallas game.
