How will Koren Robinson be able to feed his kids on only 12 million.
I think the moves so far are great except for trading Patten and Betts for 1 player.
*Will GM Allen be trying to get the Skin's a good passrushing DE?

trade for matt jones...i have robinson, jones, and moss, and each received for over 1000 yards and made it to the pro bowl. matt jones is a beast and a half in madden, unstoppable.

yeah, but that is silly an unrealistic.
Can we keep the posts to the topic at hand?
Since CLL is a moderator I think it's his perogative to delete any and all posts that aren't on topic, we should keep this clean and neat for full effect.

I'd like to thank you for your interest. Yes, if at all possible lets try to stay on topic. I will be keeping this pretty realistic as possible so you won't see Vick on this team. lol
Guys feel free to post anything you want as it pertains to the topic at hand. I hope you guys enjoy this.

I think this is a cool idea, I just wish I'd thought of it.
Are you going to sell away some of the draft picks we lost to make it realistic?

No, this won't be an exact replica of this season. Although I may post something in the Hogsniticians (spelling) thread.

Redskins vs. Panthers
Quick update for the Panthers game:
In our 1st preseason game against the Panthers the Skins did not prevail. However, its only preseason and there were plenty of bright spots to build off of.
The Panthers defensive line was a force to be reckoned with yet only yielded 3 sacks, 2 of those against Patrick Ramsey in the 2nd half. The defensive line was very strong against the run and kept Portis to about 3 YPC. Julius Peppers was a force to be reckoned with and by shedding blocks stopped a lot of back yardage plays by Clinton.
Koren Robinson caught his 1st TD as a Redskin and Santana Moss ran precise routes. However when it was time to score in the red zone the line could not open holes for Clinton and key passes to McCants and Jacobs were dropped.
Jason Campbell showed us today exactly why he was drafted. He showed mobility, accuracy and strength as he placed his passes with precision. He threw for one 1 TD and no INTs in one half of play. His QB rating was above 85% and would have been better if a few passes were not dropped.
Tom Tupa had a heck of a day with both is his punts being placed within the 10 yard line. John Hall made a 45-yard FG for our 1st points of the game. Our special team play seems to be on point and we hope it continues to stay on track throughout the preseason and well into the regular season.
Our defense definitely has a lot to improve upon. A myriad of problems cropped up for our defense. Our LBs had problems shedding blocks
Redskins vs Bengals.
Final Score: W38-24
The Redskins came away victorious in a sloppy game. The Redskins offense and defense came out on the field with renewed vigor after having their previous game cancelled. The Redskins offense showed a lot of potential despite having to put the ball twice. The score would have been 14-7 in the 1st half if it had not been for a drop by Robert Royal in the end zone.
The Bengals offense came out throwing and did not let up. It was shocking to seem them take the aggressive stance that they did. Coming out on 1st down in 5WR sets was different. However, C. Griffin took the over anxious Palmer out of the game with a devastating blow to the chest. With Palmer out of the game it became hunting season at Redskin Park with the defense causing havoc and Lemar Marshall getting a sack. As a result of the Bengals offense the defense was bent severely but didnt break. Sean Taylor picked off a pass from a returning Palmer to stop a non-huddling Bengals offense in the 2nd qtr.
RFK? Its BUSH LEAGUE BABY! The crowd was amped today! In the 4th quarter, on 4th down and with 4 minutes to go the crowd was chanting go with Jason Campbell under center. He sneaked into the end zone behind Casey Raybach but not before fumbling the ball and recovering it himself. Overall Jason played a decent 2nd half but WRs dropping passes marred his stats. Anyone remember Rogers improving his hands in mini camp? With the game winding down he showed the fruits of his labor by picking off a pass to reseal the sealed deal!
Player of the game: Brandon Jacobs 16 carries for 43 yards and 3 catches.
Notes: Patrick and Campbell will be alternating in their starting positions. Redskins vs. Bengals
This game has been cancelled due to weather conditions in Maryland at the time. A hailstorm passed through the area. (I lost my notes on the game)

Preseason Position Battles…
#2 WR? Moss or Koren?
#3 WR? Thrash, Jacobs, McCants?
LG? Dockey or Brown?
#2 CB Rogers, Hawkins or Harris?
SS Bowen or Clark? Do we need them both?
Position move of interest: We’ve rated Chris

ey at 84 for the FB position. However, Sellers is at an 80 but has superior run blocking and pass blocking attributes. For the time being we’re going to place

ey at TE where he’ll drop down to a 76. His good speed, jumping, and catching ability we’ll sure up a lackluster TE corps. If we can address this need in the near future we may move

ey back to FB/HB. We need all the beef we can get in front of Portis, he’s going to have a banner year!

TRADE IN THE WORKS WITH INDY?!?!?!
Its being reported that the Skins are Indy are negotions. There aren't any solid details but a popular Redskin defensive players is on the trading table for two of Indys promising young prospects. MLB Brackett is one of the guys rumoured to be involved in the trade. Could a DE be coming down the pipe? Im not sure.
Surprising? Not at all. GM Allen doesn't care for the larger flashly splashes but is trying to build a young team.

I am glad Koren Robinson's salary was a typo -- I was about to say "FIRE THE GM!"
For what it's worth, I don't think Portis is ready to be captain.

Skins vs Steelers Notes
30-20 Skins
1st Half
The Redskins are deciding whether or not to change their defensive playbook. This defense has players that are so verstatile that they need more formations. They plan to switch to the balanced playbook which includes the 3-4, 4-3, and 46.
The defense started the day off with an INT by Sean Taylor and then another by Lemar Marshall while running the 46.
On the offensive side of the ball Jason Campbell showed improvement by recognizing blitzes and utilizing his speed to avoid them and dump the pass off to Portis. However as an offense we need to be able to capitilize more off of our picks. We scored a FG and a TD from the two picks, we need two TD’s and nothing less.
Are we done with INTs? No! Carlos Rogers couldn’t let the day go bye without getting his 2nd pick of the preseason. Minicamp is definitely showing its worth.
2nd Half
The defense came out even more intense than in the 1st half if you can imagine that. They’re out their trying to kill people.
Ramsey threw an off kilter pass that should have been picked by McCants showed great awareness and came back for the jump ball for a 3rd down conversion.
Play of the game: Ramsey hands the ball of to Brandon Jacobs, he jukes #29, #27 comes in for the tackle, his helmet is knocked completely off as he is leveled by Jacobs who needed 2 guys to gang tackle him to be brought down.
Antrell Hawkins tips a pass to himself and runs it back for 46 yards.
4 ints by our D
69.8 P. Ramsey
42.8 J. Campbell
50 yards on 16 ATT – Portis
40 yard on 11 ATT – Jacobs
No sacks by the o-line
Rogers, Springs, Marshall and Hawkins had INTs.
M. Washington led the team in tackles.
Player moves:
David Fiore is brought back for depth. 1 yr, 3.31 M, $980k SB.

Associated Press...
Joe Theisman, an announcer who started at QB for the Redskins in the 80's, was heard today questioning the GM's decision to pay $3.31 million for a backup guard. This was odd to hear from a QB who's career was ended on a sack, but Joe's point was that $3 million is far more than many starters are paid and Fiore does not significantly improve a set of guards which includes Dockery, Thomas, and Brown.
In other news, Darrell Green, who now reports from the redskin's sideline was impressed by the cornerback play. He sees shades of himself in rookie corner Carlos Rogers.

OFFICIAL Redskins News
GM Allen was quoted today sounding a bit irritated, this is what he had to say; "Please ignore any news coming out from anyone other than myself and Jake. The "news" if you can call it that and opinions thus far have been incorrect." Thank you. We believe this was in response to criticism from some fansites stating that Fiore is a backup when he actually is starting.
