http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/4910694They use a model that takes into account who they have played this season and how they did at the end of last season. I believe that it also uses modifiers based on wind direction, temperature and humidity. There is also a variable for how well the author of this ranking is lactating that day.
Four 1-2 teams are ranked higher than us. Oh yeah, and our defensive rank is #9.
I really don't understand why everyone gets so annoyed by these rankings. They have no bearing on the playoffs or the superbowl. All that matters is the wins and losses. Who cares if the media is riding our coat tails. Sometimes I wish I was back in 85...at least there wasnt all this useless media coverage.

Great question - wasted space on these boards IMO!

I understand that they are biased but they are in the entertainment business and their opinions mean nothing.

They start off saying "our formula is different because we go on this flippin sweet formula and not our gut feeling" ...then when talking about the Skins, they say...we "have a
feeling"

...that the skins are lucky.
What a crock of....
They say the Bears are #7 based on the stats, but they are 21 in their rank. Question. If they aren't gonna use the formula, why say they are using the formula?

I stick to
www.redskins.com for my news. I like the one sided stuff. doesn't get me nearly as worked up.

And for a broader perspective I recommend
www.the-hogs.net - I'm always spoilt by these guys - they seem to find all the "news" that's fit to print and this way I don't have to go to any other site and waste my time!

If he wants it one sided then THN wouldn't cut it for him.
All the News fit to link at your finger tips and then you you can voice your opinion on what you've just read right

Obviously THN is far superior. I do like the press conferences on Redskins.com
Can you give me that?

I have no idea why we get no respect.
We've played Division Leaders from every division we have faced.
Chicago
Seattle
Dallas
Denver
We are 3-1 v/s division leaders with the one loss coming by 2 points.
I don't care if they like us, but these idiots don't respect our schedule and what we've done.

Yes, but...what have we done lately ? That's the real deal. These rankings are subject to whim and hometown favoritism, (favouritism, for our Canadian friends, and my man Chrissy

)and aren't really important unless we're favorably ranked, to us.

You're the only person I have ever allowed to call me that.

We've lost 4 of our last 6. That doesn't buy much respect.

What have we done for them recently though...is how they're looking at it.
We made them look dumb during the Marty and Spurrier years with the bandwagon so they've written us off.
They bashed us all last year and this offseason.
We shock them and they refuse to believe and then as soon as they start giving us respect we fail them again.
They dont know what to do.

Here's what they say about us:
A tough schedule and absurdly poor luck in recovering fumbles isn't helping things in Washington, but the absence of defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin has been another major reason for the team's recent struggles. Griffin suffered a hip injury against the Giants, missed three weeks, and was clearly not at 100 percent when he returned against San Diego. When healthy, Griffin is one of the few defensive tackles in the league who is effective both against the run and at rushing the passer. NEXT: at STL
Could almost have been written by a Redskins fan.

Kind of off-subject, kind of, but the picks on ESPN are pro-Redskins, and the CBS douche's have Rams picked over us. HOW!? haha.

Maybe because our last 2 games were on CBS and we were less than spectacular.
Hopefully, all will change tomorrow.

Hopefully, nothing changes tomorrow (or the next rankings) as they do not count. All we need is a W - the "rankings" get us nothing! They can rank us last as long as we are 6-6!

There does seem to be a lot of Dolphin love going around at the moment.
Redskins in 16th? They've got a surprise coming their way.

Other then the first Giants game we could have or should have won everygame we played last season.
But I guess we don't have the talent next year.
