Brunell after he throws for his 2nd TD of the game.

From your lips to gods ears, fellow UPS'er :D

Why don't you chant GO SKINS!

They could headbutt walls together !

Don't forget that Sage Rosenfels is their second string QB, so he would be bumped to third string and they would have three Redskin cast-offs at QB.

It's also extremely rare to lose both your starting QB and his backup, in the same quarter of the same NFL game. Weird things are happening here, and i wouldn't count out a Ramsey trade juuuuust yet. My 2 cents

I'd rather not give JJ credit for anything but he did give Gibbs some props, the full quote was ""I trust Joe Gibbs' judgment. Ramsey can't play."
By the by, as the QB injury tolls mount, how smart does Gibbs look for taking Campbell? There are four or five teams right now who would kill for the Redskins QB situation. That's saying something about the paucity of talent at the QB position but I'd rather have the Redskins QB "problems" than the Jets, Ravens or Lions.

John Clayton on Mike and Mike this morning said that getting a 4th round pick for Ramsey is probably best we can hope for in this case (or that should be the starting offer from the Jets maybe turning into a 3rd during negotiations). Seems kinda low under the circumstances but thats why he gets paid the big bucks i suppose...

First rounder

first rounder would get us one heck of a sweet possession wide receiver next year or else a sweet DE or DT

 I'm not so sure I wouldn't toss the Redskins year to get Leinart!!! Just joking.

this thread is out in la la land. joe gibss is not going to trade his no. 2 qb only to have to bring in another qb who will need several weeks if not months to learn the system weel enough to run it successfully should brunell go down. with each passing win, i think the chances of campbell seeing action thsi year dwindle.

ramsey will stay until the offseason, politely request a trade, and we'll get a third rounder for him.

Ramsey would be of little benefit to any team other than the Redskins this season. He is not exactly a quick study and I just don't see him contributing much for another team without the benefit of a training camp and pre-season in their system. For this reason I don't see any offers substantial enough to interest the Redskins. He will certainly go in the off-season. My guess would be a 3rd or 4th round pick.

from lenny's chat today....

Ed (CT): Hey Lenny - let's start off the show right...can you tell us about Vinny and Jets, and also who else the Jets may bring in/trade for? (Ramsey, Volek, Kitna, Doug Johnson, Couch, etc...)

len: (12:04 PM ET ) by now, i'm sure you've seen the laundry list of free agents the jetys will audition -- doug johnson, jesse palmer, jonathan quinn . . . and there figure to be a few others in coming days . . . i'm not sure the jets are dong adding quarterbacks just with the vinny signing . . . i just sent a story to dot-com, conforming they spoke to the redskins both last night and today about patrick ramsey and were rebuffed. also confirmed they have not yet inquired about billy volek . . . hey, vinny may fit better with what heimerdinger wants to do, the vertical game, than anyone they had or could get . . .we'll see . . . there are some fears, including within the organization, that pennington is done . . . or, that if he returns, he'll never be the same

it's lenny, so take it with a grain of salt. or many many many grains.

After this year he is a free agent - we get nothing! But I agree that he will be here for the rest of the year, IMO!

The Jets shouldn't have a desire for Ramsey; see below...

I'm not sure Bollinger can't get the job done in New York. He's a big kid, smart with a pretty good arm... he might play a lot better than most people think.

As far as Ramsey, he'll play again this season for the Skins. I hope he takes advantage of the next opportunity!

Ramsey is not a free agent after this year. He is signed through next year.

From ESPN:

Several league sources told ESPN.com that the Jets have inquired about the availability of former Washington starter Patrick Ramsey, demoted two weeks ago, but were told by the Redskins they will not trade him.

Everyone has a price. If the Jets were to offer us their 1st round pick next year we would be foolish not to take it. Even their 2nd and 3rd round would make me pull the string.

id pull the string for their first rounder too. Take the pick and cross your fingers you dont lose brunell. Also, how much of an edge does ramsey have over cambell?

Have you seen Ryp lately? He got FAT!!! He is an excellent golfer though. Believe me, he's bigger than in the photo below. What a great guy though.

There is no way Ramsey goes anywhere unless the Jets offer A LOT. Not gonna happen.

Gibbs does not have to be actively looking for a trade, but if a team makes a reasonable offer he would have a fiduciary obligation to the Redskins to at least consider it. That is why we need a true GM so a coach does not let his emotions get in the way of the betterment of the team. You have to admit that if you are offered a first round pick for your backup quarterback, you have to make that trade.

Jets signed vinny t. back and n. odonell to the squad. So there will be no trade whatsoever
