On the contrary, maybe we all need a drink!

Im gonna be super drunk during the game on Monday Night...does that count? Stick a fork in Ramsey, he's well done in D.C. best wishes taking the Arizona Cardinals to the playoffs Pat...

We didn't decide to go without one.

i think we should. we should just line up our defense on offense! let lavar arrington be the lead blocker for sean taylor at RB, and do nothing but power running.

:D

It doesn't help with the Brunell fiasco to come up with such a stupid, sarcastic suggestion as this one. It just shows you're no true, Redskin fan.

I do think we should try Moss at quarterback, though.

You can't base your opinion of Brunell from 1/2 a game last week. Nor can you base it too much on last year. Brunell was not 100% last year. He also was tasked with leading an offense which was brand new. None of his teammates were playing with the confidence of a team who knows how to react to every situation. By the time they started figuring out how to better utilize Portis, Cooley, the absence of Jansen etc. Ramsey was starting.

In the first preseason game this year, on Brunell's first pass, Jeff Bostic remarked, "where did that come from? Did you see the zip on that pass? He didn't throw like that all of last year!"

It was obvious from the very start that Brunell was firing the ball like he did in his days at Jacksonville. Brunell finished the 4 preseason games with an 85.8 rating vs. Ramseys 65.6. I know, Brunell played against second string. BUT he also was protected by second string O-line and threw to second string WR's so it's pretty much apples to apples.

Bottom line last week? Ramsey = 3 turnovers, 0 points. Brunell = 0 turnovers, 9 points.

Lastly, it's like Marcus Washington said two nights ago. Brunell is a better leader. When he's in the huddle he commands respect. Going into the hostile environment of Dallas on MNF, that leadership will be even more important than the QB rating.[/quote]

I have nothing to add to a thread about the number of threads about Ramsey and Brunell (I can't even find my post in that maze)

However... I need clarification on something

Have you ever wondered how it could be that a quarterback is run out of here on rails and then pops up somwhere else and leads that team to the super bowl much to the surprise of Skins fans everywhere?

Well, it's at least in part to our fans' pension for revisionist history. In the alternate universe created in some fans' minds, Ramsey is a complete bust -- he does nothing but throw interceptions and get sacked, and has no leadership what-so-ever.

These fans are going to be quite shocked if he goes somewhere else and becomes a starter, and in a few years all we'll hear is, "why didn't he play like that when he was in Washington?"

no one around here engages in revisionist history! we just wish we could find another great QB like Comrade Ogilvy.

That Chicago defense is pretty darn good and Ramsey was just starting to pick them apart when the fumble occurred. I've been upset all week about Gibbs decision. I also think Ramsey got treated badly in this situation. I hope he gets an honest shot as a starter some day. All that said what would make me feel a whole lot better is putting a major whoopin on the cowgirls!!!!

Ramsey sucks...he's just not that good. We need a dose of reality...we are fans and like our players, but seriously, the guy is not that good.

Honestly I don't remember the board being this strongly divided last year when the change was made to Ramsey. I wonder why it is different this year. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Of course he team is worried about it. Patten and Moss are ticked for sure, and Portis is probably worried about the Cowgirls using seven linebackers.

I'd be freaking out if we were playing Boston U. Gibbs has followed up the worse mistake of his career with the same worse mistake of his career.

Brunell is consistent, I'll give you that. The guy can't throw and is mistake prone, looks good in camp when his arm is fresh and starts playing with a rag come the middle of September.

Those of you who think the problem with Brunell last year was that he was injured might reflect on the fact that Gibbs played him anyway, even when he stunk up the stadium. What does it say about Gibbs that he played an injured old man who failed spectacularly game after game?

Maybe he wasn't all that injured. Maybe he was and Gibbs has truly lost it and can't be trusted now. Either way, in my opinion, we're in trouble. We're going to find out how much trouble we're in soon. Brunell's days are numbered, and Ramsey's going to leave (as he should). We're going to be left hoping Gibbs was right about Campbell. Don't bet on it. Campbell had one good season as a college player surrounded by all-Americans and hasn't shown us much of anything yet.

Now that is truly inspiring! Sounds like you know what is in store for us this season. Have you considered lawn bowls or other such exciting endeavours? It's just a game!

I think that Gibbs knows what he is doing and we have the best person for the job of Redskins head coach that we can get. I have a lot more faith in that than I do with some of the more experienced NFL people and the information in this post.

Gibbs has improved our team and deserves the opportunity to continue to run it as he sees fit and with the players who he feels will be successful.

Because Brunnell was the lowest rated passer in the NFC, wasn't throwing for even 100 yards in a game, and the general thought was that Ramsey has to be better than this.

And he was, problem is, even with the changes to the offense, he was still only slightly better than Brunnell. He completed more passes and got the ball downfield better, but was turnover prone and didn't manage the game.

I think Gibbs thinks that with an improved offense and added talent, that Brunnell will be a better offense, simply because while he may not throw for 300 yards, he will not throw 3 INT's...

It's not the popular decision, but I want to see how it plays out.
