MNF is the most recent one though, yet it's the only one I get examples from. That was a crappily called game all around. No one got handed anything.

These are the same people who swear on their life that Gardner was out of bounds (and that he was speared) when Roy Williams knocked the crap out of him on that last play.

Same for the one he did to Coles earlier in the game.

If the refs were "so in love" with the Cowboys, explain the multitude of rule changes named after Cowboy players in the past few years.

okay back to the question about the hit on Ramsey... I did see the the league fined the Falcons for that hit on Mcflab... that was a hard hit and the guy's helmet was down a little while diving at Donovan and wrapping him up, but there was nothing dirty about it... the clothesline on Ramsey was just plain wrong...

1 - Please educate the ignorant here about exactly which rule changes were made by the refs?

2 - Rule changes that were made by the Rules Committee that seemed to be "directed" at certain people (or teams) might have been because those players (or teams) were not playing the game as certain people thought it should be played for the benefit (if you will) of all parties.




I am over the good or bad call thing - there were some horrendous calls last year and we had our share - lets just win this thing on the field.

I hope that Sean and Lavar take advantage of every rule in the book and we win the game in the last minute - due to a play involving either.

Since Lance hasn't been fined yet and because no penalty was called. I can only conclude it was a legal hit after all. I guess I'm sorry for being upset about that hit earlier. I hope that Arrinton, Bowen, Taylor, and Washington have been made aware of that. I would love to see them lay that same hit on Bledsoe! After all, it is a perfectly legal hit so why not?

Actually, what I was told yesterday is that they just had an inordinate amount of work to do with all of the fines from Monday night and that they wouldn't know until this afternoon whether or not there will be a fine.

OK, just got the official word and it is that Gene Washington reviewed the play extensively, and decided that the play did not warrant any disciplinary action.

Wow, how convenient. Redskins not getting any help.

I never want to hear a peep out of you if a Cowboys QB is clotheslined .. the whole (not that you are saying this, just in general) "that's good hard football" line of reasoning is totally without merit, Dick Lane did that because he didn't have the athletic ability to form tackle people. And don't bother (again, not you specifically primetime) trying to defend his style of play, I've had this argument too many times.
After I had to watch Brad Johnson get dragged by the face mask across the ground in Dallas in plain sight of the refs with NO flag I knew no Redskins QB would be treated fairly so long as Snyder owns this team.
Call me a blind fan, whatever, the Redskins have had more than their fare share of terrible, terrible calls go against them over the past several years.
There is no more incompetent group of professional sports officials than the NFL. And, yes I count the NBA. NFL refs can't even get it right with 12 million of them on the field and instant replay.

If Lance Briggs makes that same hit on Donovan McNabb he'd be fined.

If Chad Lavalais makes that same hit on Patrick Ramsey he doesn't get fined.


The league claims that it's trying to protect QBs. What it really does is protect the high profile QBs. Remember a few years ago when we were playing in Philly and LaVar barely bumped McNabb after a pass and they called roughing the passer? You think Ramsey gets that call? While Spurrier was here he'd get pounded into the ground after a throw without drawing any flags.



As for the Cowboys getting calls things, I say it's a non-issue right now. Let's wait until after the game to complain at least. The Cowboys have beat the Redskins consistently over the last decade or so, and it wasn't because of the refs. The only time I really think the refs screwed us was last year on MNF and no amount of arguing from any Cowboys fan would ever get me to say otherwise. We got absolutely screwed in that game. Period.


Let's just hope it doesnt happen again on Monday.

Even you can't argue that the Pokes got a HUGE assist by the men in black and white in last years MNF game. That was 14 points the ref directly effected. You can't tell me that when teams are evenly matched (like the Skins and Cowboys have been recently) the refs don't have a big impact in the game.

Not only can I, that's what I've been doing for a while now.

Fios, respect your take on it for sure, I agree that Briggs should have been fined (especially with the ticky-tack rules the NFL goes by now, so the non-fine is wrong, I agree. I just don't think it would have made a difference in Ramsey being benched; that was the point I was making.)

I just think it would be so sweet to win this and be able to enjoy being undefeated for 2 weeks! I do not remember what that feels like anymore. It would only be sweeter for a huge hit by a Skins defender to be the play of the game.

We were 2-0 in '03 after beating the Jets and winning at Atlanta. That was sweet.

I agree with Primetime that Brunell would've eventually been our starting QB. That's what Gibbs wants so that's what's going to happen. It was just a matter of time.

I agree. . .all of those intangible "ball bouncing the right way" kind of things (anything from a ref's call to just plain luck) seemed to elude us last year. I just keep hoping that it'll come back around to us, starting this year.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. Two quarterbacks in one half of football and its NOT a cheapshot. You did read JansenFan's post right? It was a perfectly legal hit and I just want to see that same type of hit on your quarterbacks until we get that baseball player under center. Then we'll have ourselves a game!

Our Oline is at least 2x as good as yours. Yeah, that's not a typo.

Bledsoe gets hit a lot, but he gets hurt very little. Don't see that changing even with your blitz happy defense.
