Even though Brunellmade the team better Ramsey should start.

I think deep down Gibbs wants Brunnell to be our leader. He used a very complimentary word when describing him in the press conference. He referred to him as "flawless" when describing how he doesn't make mistakes. I don't know if I would go that far, but I am happy as long as the QB is not hurting us.

I really like Ramsey, but he did throw a pick, and fumble twice in one half. Luckily Jansen covered the first fumble.

To be honest guys, the "leader" of this team is the defense. All we really need is solid play from under center to win ball games. We only gave up 166 total yards today. Although Ramsey may end up being a great QB, it doesn't mean anything to us as long as he is giving the other team opportunities. I want to see him do well.

The second fuble you really can't hold against him, he got murdered. That probably should have been a penalty. I still think we should start Ramsey.

That's right! but, I think that is his job as the back-up! We have a starter and a back up. If you are the starter and you are ready then you play! If Joe thinks that Mark is the starter then that is a QB change and he is the "starter"!

Further, if it hadn't been for Brunell's great handoffs, Portis would have sucked. And, it wasn't really Brunell who threw that floater into double coverage that could have cost us the game if the interception hadn't been called back. It was Ramsey in Brunell's jersey.
Damn that Cooley. If only he'd stayed on the goal line and caught the ball with his extended wong when Brunell cleverly threw it to the dirt on the one yard line on 3rd and goal, our man would have had a TD toss.

And arm strength. Man, did you see the way Brunell bounced his opening toss all the way to the sidelines. 70 yards in three quarters! Man, he hasn't lost a thing from last year. I loved the way he tripped himself up and went down on his butt, spoiling that crucial drive. What entertainment for my masochistic self. The guy is flawless.

That pretty much sums it up. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone is calling for Brunell to be the starter. I could understand if he came in, threw 300 yards and 4 touchdowns, and had great chemistry throwing downfield to the WRs. But the truth is he only had 70 yards and no touchdowns in about 3 quarters of work. That's hardly a performance inspiring enough for a QB change in week 1. If Ramsey is healthy enough to play but gets benched now he should demand a trade.

The problem, really, is the fans calling for Ramsey's head after little more than a quarter of regular season work against one of the better defenses in the NFL. Last year the mob wanted Ramsey. This year they want Brunell. Next year they'll want Barabas for QB.

Ramsey needs to be the QB and I think he has to start if he can make it. Neither seems really good but Ramsey is Joe's "starter" and that will be our situation for this year!

We need to be a lot better on offense overall or the QB is not going to be that important! Yes, Portis got some yards but we did not dominate the line play offensively.

I think people forget how bad Brunell was....he was awful people say that the real reason why Brunell is better than Ramsey is that Ramsey gives up too many big plays. Last year in the first 6 games I believe Brunell gave up 4 TD's and Ramsey didnt do that.

RAMSEY HAS TO START. I was at the game and once he left the game it lost a certain intensity. The offense does not flow as well with Brunell he has no vertical ability.

Ramsey will start

Ramsey will be the starting qb against Dallas, why do you think the Redskins went out and got speed at WR???? , not for noodle arm Brunell, Patrick will stretch the field. Brunell did what a seasoned backup qb should, not make mistakes and make a few plays. You cant win long term with Brunell.

Well, I think Brunell is clearly the better QB. Hell, I went over to a Cowboy board and they are hoping Ramsey is the starter. I went to a Bears board and they were upset with their defense for knocking Ramsey out of the game; thus, bringing in Brunell.

But in a way, I guess I should want Ramsey to start so when we suck, there will be no questions or second guessing on our part about Ramsey. I don't know, I guess I prefer consistency and wise decisions from a QB, other than a hot and cold statue who will break your heart with poor decisions. I don't care about last year. Brunell was injured, in a new system, and didn't have Jansen to protect his blind side. I'm not saying Brunell is a TD machine. I just think the offense clicks better with him in there. He is also mobile.

I said this very early in the year. The dallas game was going to be huge for the team.I just read on redskins.com that Ramseys neck sprain would be evaluated, if he can practice or not this week.I think if Ramsey misses practice then Brunnel will be the starter in the dallas game.Ramsey gets cleared then he will start. The bottom line is we need this win and we need to score some T.d.s

Please give me, in detail, what Ramsey has done to deserve the QB job. Go ahead. Take off your homer glasses and look at the facts. When you find the facts that prove your point, list them.

Brunell is terrible! How can you guys think that he opened up our running game?

The only reason our Running game improved was because of the play calling.

And even with the great running game, Brunell still almost lost if for us, against the Bears!

If Brunell starts next week, I will be very disapointed in the coaching staff.

I'm starting to want brunnel to start in the dallas game.I want to put this to a end early. That being if brunnel is that much better than Ramsey. Let him prove it.Lets see if the man can really produce or not now.Lets see if the three field goals like today will get us that win over dallas.Lets see if brunnel can hit some pass plays for more than twenty yards.Lets see if brunnel can put up more than two hundred plus yards passing. Can brunnel punch one in the red zone.I say give brunnel the green light to start in the dallas game.Lets just see if he is really the man.

I don't care about last year. I care about this year. I care that Ramsey, since this preseason, has throw something like 2 TDs and 5 INTs, not to mention the fumbles. I don't know if those are the exact numbers because I'm just pulling them from the top of my head. I don't recall any crucial mistakes by Brunell since the preseason started.

Thanks Snout. Brunell threw into double coverage and got intercepted. That play ended up getting called back, but it was a mistake. The same type of mistake people get all huffy puffy about when Ramsey makes them.

Preseason doesn't count. Even if preseason counted, you cannot compare the performance of the starter playing against other teams' starters to the backup playing against other teams' backups. Even if you could compare them, from a practical standpoint, you cannot have a quarterback competition every year if you want your quarterback to ever develop any confidence and stability.

I have read all of the posts and frankly guys, I fail to see what difference it makes which quarterback starts. Both threw interceptions, both made drives, both threw great and bad passes and BOTH FAILED TO GET A TOUCHDOWN!!!

I saw lots of bright spots today...Portis/Betts, the receivers, the defense, the offensive line but not at quarterback.

I also watched the Dallas/San Diego game. If the Redskins offense doesn't get markedly, markedly better at producing touchdowns next week, we will loose to the Cowboys.

I hope that the NFL reveiws the film and fines for the hit on Ramsey.

I think in Dallas you want the more mobile qb in there. I just have bad vibes about Ramsey in Dallas. Remember him just getting tee off on there....I give the ever so slight nod to Mark...Gibbs kinda raved about him after the game. I will surprised if he dosen't get the start..........

Ramsey has potential to be better. Brunnel on the other hand has played as well as he is going to in my opinion. We need to give Ramsey a legitimate chance.
