Why does everyone apologize all the time. All you said that you were surprised DM was cut. It was totally related to the thread. It is just my opinion but some of the mods complaints concerning reposting seem to be excessive. And it comes in such a rude manner.

Holy crap people, get over it.
I wasn't 'slapping anyone on the wrist', all I was doing was pointing a guy to another thread that I thought might be of interest considering he didn't know about D-mac.
I didn't merge a thread, delete a thread, say keep threads on topic... there was no 'moderating' involved whasoever... it was a fricking attempt to give a guy something else to read... is it okay with you guys if I do that?
Some of you need help.
For the record, mods are certainly permitted to particpate in threads as well as moderate...
You don't like it... don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Also of note is that being moderated is not a personal attack.
We moderators try to keep things within the rules and in the proper place. It's a thankless job (obviously) but it is part of what makes this place the way it is: organized and easy to follow.
I was moderated several times as a non-staff member. I didn't get my feelings hurt. I just took it for what it was: a reminder of the rules and aknowledged it as such.
I never understood why people get so uptight when moderation is necessary. sheesh.
Now that we have clogged up a perfectly good thread complaining about and defending moderation, let's try to get it moving again.
I'm not surprised about D-Mac. I think he is a good player and he will make an impact for some team. He just wasn't a good fit here.
I wasn't surprised about Baber, I just thought that with him playing with the starters Friday night, he would last another week.
As for the rest, I thought Jonathan Combs did well in training camp, but in the games competing at a stacked position, he blew it. Hopefully for him, other teams will see the good with the bad and he'll catch on somewhere.

Well...the way that was phrased seemed to be antagonistic. There was no 'this is also here.' And "don't let the door hit you on the way out" comment. Jeez heck of a way to treat a fellow skinfan. A Diehard skinfan.

I knew Dmac was gone from before camp... it was always personal...a matter of style, maybe.
The guy had no chance here. I hope he succeeds elsewhere. He's better than Thrash, Dyson, etc.
I'm surprised about Newberry, but only because they drafted him, which surprised me more. Can't imagine what's going on with White and don't buy that "still learning Hback explanation" for his not playing. Thought Smith would make it. Like everyone else, stunned to see Jimoh still around. Thought Baber would make it, now hope Johnson sticks if it's between Johnson and Sellers. Call me Crazy. I'd cut Rock and carry only three RB's and not run an HB at all if

ey is out, but instead run Portis or Betts with Nemo at FB. Rock's ok but only gets what most other NFL back get...adequate yardage when there's running room. Nemo gets that and more. Life is to have fun and flatten the opposition. I'd also keep Thrash off the field as a receiver, Frankly, I love the guy, but he's a journeyman, so hope for Taylor's successful return. I think Dyson's pretty much worthless as well. I'd keep Taylor and Brown for three and four, put Dyson on the taxi squad and put Thrash on special teams exclusively.

I have a good idea crazyhorse, lets pull the top 53 men off every team in the NFL and sign them. Why not? What the hell right? We are in such a big crappy cap casualty that we don't have much to work with. As for the receivers, who takes Thrash's place at #3. Do we only have two out there at a time until 3rd down? Thats what your saying. Thrash isnt a journeyman. He's only played for 2 teams. He was drafted by Philly but then picked up by Washington in '97. Then he went to Philly and he ended back here. Journeyman huh. Ever hear of someone movein somewhere else and then comeing back. Way to be there CRAZYHORSE. Do some research.

Dude c'mon now, I think you're overreacting just a tad. Now I understand how you feel because I used to take it a bit personal because I tried to stay within the rules and I almost felt embarassed at times. It was never because of what they said to me, it was just how I felt. However I grew to just let it slide off my back because its not personal. I'm close to 4000 posts and I've been moderated within the past 2 weeks.
I dont know how long you've been here but if he was pointing out that you double posted than the thread would have been deleted and your post merged with the current thread of the same topic. He was simply putting you on to some more info. Maybe he should have thrown in a smiley face or sumthin for you but it was a pretty neutral comment imo. Lets not forget this is the internet, its not easy to convey emotion or the lack thereof thru characters.

Does cutting Chandler mean that the staff is sure Hall can be healthy all season? If not, I'd question this move... We went through kicker hades before, and I dont want to get some unknown in the middle of the season if Hall hurts himself before.
Also, on the Thrash comments, you guys should remember that he caught over 60 balls a number of seasons as a #2 WR, so I think hes a decent #3... but I do hope Jacobs or Brown step up and take the spot from him.
Oh and PS, thanks mods. You guys dont deserve to get ragged on like you do.

The way it was phrased tells me that something about D-Mac being released was posted last night AND may have more info (for someone that was surprised that he was released might want more info)
He provided a link - if he needed to explain why the link was posted then 9 out of 10 times he would have had to explain how to use it.

Well you should act like you want to be here. I've re-read the tread a few time to find the disconnect and have pin-pointed you.
You are complaining about the Mods complaining. We don't complain we moderate, educate and inform throughout the board. In this thread the ONLY moderation going on is the attempts we make to keep this thread on topic. However after no less than four attempts there you are on page 3 of a thread complaining about something you incorrectly assumed happened on page 1. You have yet to comment on the topic of this thread. No one has warned you to stay on topic though you constantly stray. Keep it up and you'll experience a few of the funtions of a mod. It shouldn't come to that put that is totally up to you. You started a worthless complaint thread in another forum, no one deleted it. In fact we point out how to correct your issue. Simply asking for help would have made you seem more like a member of this site as opposed to the image that thread projected of you
Back on Topic...
I think D-Mac could have been used more last year and could have helped the team. He'll be picked up by some team hopefully someone in the AFC. If he goes to another team and continues to give the impression that he isn't a hard worker than he may be in for a repeat.
Now that we are back on topic, let's keep it there

I think Hall is healthy enough. Jeff missed 2 FG's that I can remeber during this preseason. I dont care if Jeff is 200% healthy if he's going to kick like that lol.
Thrash dropped more passes than I would have liked but he's a best candidate for #3 or #4. Jacobs gets hurt every 2 days and McCants is gone.

Clarification on the issue.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/29/AR2005082900501.htmlAnd although McCants's practice performances were questioned, wide receivers coach Stan Hixon said that McCants improved markedly from last season: "He was the kind of guy who was a long strider. So some people think he's not running, but he's running. Believe me, he was a lot better than he was last year. He made some strides on offense, but he just wasn't as talented on special teams."

Wow this has gotten ugly since I last viewed it. I didn't take it offensively at all. I understood exactly what Boss mentioned and was only showing respect by apologizing in case I caused the moderators any extra work. 'Nuff said.
Back on track...upon further review, with limited roster spots and alot of blossoming talent, I guess it was an intelligent football move. It's sometimes hard for the fans when the team parts ways with someone we've connected with so well.

Jacobs has to get healthy at some point, amd I know DM is gone, thats why I said I hope Antonio Brown steps up, as he seems to have been doing this preseason (although he's playing against 2 and 3rd stringers)

Journeyman is a term that has several meanings. One is that a journeyman is a typical, nondescript player, neither bad nor good, who can fit in almost anywhere and standout nowhere. In that sense, Thrash is a journeyman. Besides, Thrash qualifies as a journeyman even in the other sense. He played for the Skins, then the Eagles, then the Skins again. He journeyed back and forth.
Your points are worthless. You just wanted to insult me. Also, at this time, I'm not advocating signing anybody from another team. On top of that, I said nothing about having only two receivers on the field at a time. I advocated making Taylor No. three and Brown No four.
Tayor and Brown, hopefully, even Dyson, should be ahead of Thrash at WR. I want to keep Thrash for special teams only. So kill me.

This year IMO we will see Patten and Moss as the "main" WRs but the other receivers will be determined by the package/scheme that Joe and the offensive coordinators want to use. That is, there will not be a # assigned but rather how they suit the package that has been called. This is very similar to what Greg does on the defensive side. There will be a lot more emphasis on who better suits what is going on rather than who starts per se. This gets more of the players involved and also strengthens the team concepts that both Joe and Greg are so high on. Plus we have fresh people playing.
Thrash is a very valuable player according to Gibbs. nuff said!

I'm sorry to see Jerome cut.
