heh, never doubted it. Joe is the man and he will bring us back. Never a doubt. The only question is will we win the superbowl this year or next year?

What I really can't wait for is the reaction we get from all the Skins and Gibbs haters...

I bet none of them says a word about how they were wrong. All we will hear is, I knew it all along...

lmao...

Man....thats got me all hyped up now! Thats a great comment he made, I wish he would have made it on ESPN. I'd love to see him dig into those fat losers who doubt him. I'd like to see him ask them what they've accomplished in their lives.

Ah, but that's also the Gibbs style: the fire stays within the team. He does nothing, ever, to motivate the opponents.

Last year, one of the Post's old-time sports writers tried to explain Gibbs to the generation of fans who had never seen him.

They were about to play Buddy Ryan's Eagles in the playoffs after the '90 season. Ryan had publicly ridiculed Gibbs, and the Eagles had laghed at the Redskins after they injured several Redskins in their second regular season meeting -- the one that ended with Brian Mitchell at QB because both Rypien and Humphries were hurt. "You all want some body bags?"

The Post asked how Gibbs felt matching up with Ryan. Gibbs had a football in his hand, and all he did was clench his jaw, and say, "Buddy Ryan...(smacking the ball) Buddy (smack) Ryan (smack)...yeah...we'll see...(smack)...Buddy Ryan".

That was all.

Then the Redskins went out and pounded the Eagles, smash-mouth, play after play. The Hogs pulverized Reggie White, Jerome Brown, and the other Eagles stars. The defense throttled the Eagles.

That's Gibbs. The press insults him, and he just works harder off-season.

Maybe he'll coach until he's 70.
