Do your ur research Urlacher did not play the whole season and did not do enough to be on the list. and Steve did not play at all. And I dont think the list is base off of just one year.

Good point "DaRealistJoka" Im sure this list isnt based off of last year only!!! LaVar is the best OLB in the game and in his time. Not to mention a three time probowl selection wouldnt have doubted that he wouldnt have made it this past season with Gregg Williams in controll of LaVar comon ppl! LaVar should be in the top 20 with no question. Then it sounds like So called once again Redskins talking down and bashing redskin players! I think so. WE ALL SHOULD BE BOTHERED BY HIM NOT BEING ON THE STUPID LIST he is a "REDSKIN 4 LIFE!

Just trying to keep it real. If it's based on play last year, he should'nt be on the list.

BUT IT IS NOT JUST BASED ON LAST YEAR, if it was Urlacher and McNair and Chuck Wood(Charles Woodson) would not be on there.

I'm glad CP made the top fifty players list. When he first came to Washington...I thought he'd be a stubborn stud. I thought he'd be acting like STaylor...not coming to practices...ignoring the coach...etc. I thought CP would think of himself as the best player in the NFL (potentially true...

) and treat his team the same way. I'm surprised CP has been too all the voluntary camps and actually CARES for his team. Hopefully CP will be an excellent example of a Redskin in years to come.
Great player on AND off the field....i'm lovin' it!

Some points that have already been made, but that I definitely agree with.
1. Urlacher hardly played last year and he is on the list. People need to get a clue, even when he does play he doesn't do anything. He has to be the most overrated player in the league.
2. Don't be so quick to write off LaVar as the best OLB in the game, or in his time. There is no dominating OLB in the NFL right now, there is no LT in this generation. So who is to say that LaVar isn't the best? Derrick Brooks isn't as good as he was a couple years ago. Who else is there? There are some good players sure, but are any of them definitely better than LaVar is. Clearly, no OLB is more TALENTED than LaVar is. Maybe with a full season in Gregg Williams' D he will be the undisputed best OLB in the league. Personally, I think he will be.
3. Our OLine did not fulfill my personal expectations last season, and consequently Portis' numbers dipped from his days in Denver. Jansen's injury was obviously a HUGE reason for that, but the complete lack of a passing game was just as much of a problem. Until we at least pose a threat to pass, and pass deep, teams will continue to stack the box against us. When there's 8 or 9 guys in the box it doesn't matter who your OL is or who your RB is, simple mathematics tell you that it's gonna be hard to run the ball. Coach Gibbs knows this, and that's why he brought in Santana Moss and David Patten, two players that were near the top of the NFL in yards per catch in 2004. Hopefully, with those two lining up at WR, teams will be forced to respect the threat of a deep pass, and will be unable to load up against Portis. I could see Portis going for 1500, even 1600 this season if he and the OLine can stay healthy.

Hang in there I'm sure you'll get it this time.
The list is UPDATED every year, based on what they did last year, where they were on the 2004 list, and how they are projected to play this year.
McNair was listed at #3 in 2004 - played in 8 games- dropped 34 spots to #37
Woodson was listed at #21 in 2004 - played in 13 games- dropped 29 spots to #50
Lavar was listed at #31 in 2004 - played 2 games- dropped at least 19 spota and off the list
Urlacher was one spot ahead of Lavar in 2004 -played 5 more games- and dropped 17 spots to #47
