I'm still bitter about the whole Rod Gardner deal.
Somebody tell me how Jacksonville got a 4th round pick for Kevin Johnson but the Skins can't get that for Gardner?
Here's another one....how does Oakland get a 1st round pick for Doug Freakin' Jolley and a 2nd?
More.... AJ Feeley for a 2nd round pick....Lamar Gordon (yes, some guy named Lamar Gordon) for a 3rd round pick.
I'll be bitter if Gardner walks....another investment down the drain! Doh!
burp.

Yeah, he just wasn't needed anymore. I don't really think we needed to waste money only for a kick return specialist when we have plenty of guys who can return kicks as a secondary posistion (Thrash, Moss, Betts, and even Jacobs).
That saying, I don't even think we need Antonio Brown, but I'm sure we'll keep him because he's getting paid like League minimum.
And I disagree about not putting Santana at PR. Sure, he could get injured, but he has just a good of chance at getting injured at WR. I mean, he doesn't have to be our full time PR, but I hope he sees at least 10-15 punts next season.

I see you now back to being you, I never doubted your return.
864 post and we still amaze you, what's that say about you?
Details are always the 1st thing you throw out there (after you've raked through them). Come on inlighten us
Here's a detail for you ... he not particpating in any team functions at the request of the team. Why? Because no one was dumb enough to trade us anything for a WR that everyone knows we didn't want and wouldn't keep.(after further review there appears to be only one team that dumb in the NFL)
Moss got a fair contract for what is expected of him.
Since the return of Gibbs it appears there are salary ranges based on what other players at the same position are getting(the NFL avg. plus team avg.). This was not the case in years pass. A core Redskin would be a Redskin, not a Viking or Gint.
Back on topic......
I'm wondering who will take a chance on Morton after such a layoff?
If healthy he could help out a few teams around the league
He helped us out with a half mil in cap space, that's more than he did last season

Rod Gardner was your cancer, but he's still on the team.

Morton is a good player. I wish him well.
The reading between the lines is that he was not going to be ready to play due to his injury and the cost was too high.
We will not miss him but I would have liked to get other chances to play with us. Darn cap.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

We wont miss him one bit, I know I won't. It'll be good to have someone decisive returning punts and kick offs.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
He's gonna go to the Eagles and make the Pro Bowl now, right ? Isn't that the way is usually goes ?
Meanwhile, we're back to returns-by-committee.
I really hope this doesn't wind up biting us in the rear end.

I dont see how it will. Thrash probally wont get much time at WR. Atonio Brown will most likey take Mortons spot. Betts is good for kick off returns.
I see it like this.
Kick off - Betts and Brown
Punts - Brown
*Thrash filling in due to injury.

Well then you heard wrong.
I've met fewer Redskins nicer than Morton. He liked signing autographs and wasn't afraid to talk to fans. He usually always had a smile, too - even after losses.

Maybe he was so eager to sign autographs and chat with fans because he felt bad about all that dancing he was doing on the field.
Give me football players. I don't care if they sign my program for me with a smile after the game. I want guys who can play.

He was a good player with us.
I think the media overhyped him by showing his week 1 performance in 2002 over and over.
I figured he wouldn't be the Dante Hall type with us but he wasn't very disappointing.
I wish he wasn't hurt last year, so we would have a better chance to see more of his skills.
I wasn't very affected by this cut, though. We have plenty of returnmen and hopefully Chad will get a chance on another team. He deserves it.

Giants | Talking to C. Morton - from www.KFFL.com
Sat, 11 Jun 2005 14:26:48 -0700
The Star Ledger reports the New York Giants are talking with free agent RB/PR Chad Morton (Redskins) about being their new punt return man. "I think he misses it in New York," agent Leigh Steinberg said. "He certainly knows the area. Right now, though, he's still getting adjusted to being a free agent again." Steinberg said he doesn't expect Morton to sign with anyone until at least early next week. As noted earlier, he does have a visit scheduled with the Minnesota Vikings.

Wouldn't really like the Giants to have him...but Chad wasn't too involved in our offense anyway.

Agreed. Now dump Cartwright, Gardner, and Ray "Methusela" Brown. What a horrible joke he is.
Garder...I'd agree with. Cartwright and Brown? What's wrong with them? They seem to be hard workers and are definitely helping the team...not hurting.

I guess Chad ain't all THAT crazy about NYC. He probably likes the snow in the 'Sota. Maybe he had a man crush on Smoot or something.
Back and better than ever!
