Congratulations!
How does these news relate to the thread? Are you getting married to a LB sister?
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
I hate to say I told you so, but its one day after the signing and new horrible news has been released about Barrow's knee, as well as problems for Marshall. Also, another setback for Noble. Screw it, happy boys.
Sorry guys, but I'm still disappointed we did not re-sign Antonio Pierce. And then on top of that to lose him to the Giants and now have Barrow out. Maybe we will have Marcus at middle and Warrick outside.
I have no idea where all these linebackers are going to fit in, but I like the signing. He's a veteran, and can play wherever we need him. He's good insurance for Arrington, if his knee problem, (or his contract dispute) goes bad for us. He also gives us time to develop McCune, if it's needed.
This is the way you build teams guys - don't go out chasing the high priced studs to fill the one need that you think you've got. Instead, be patient and sign any well priced player that is good enough to help. I'd still like us to get more punch at defensive end, but can't help thinking that our defense is going to be top five again next season.
Recent free agent signee Warrick Holdman was added to the Redskins' roster to provide depth at linebacker. The six-year veteran can play all three linebacker positions and provides insurance for a unit that has two starters returning from serious injuries. "The Browns released him this year due to the new coaching staff," Redskins' head coach Joe Gibbs told the team's official website. "He's somebody we liked last year and we thought he fit in good with us, so we jumped on it." Holdman will be given a chance to win a starting job during training camp.
OUR VIEW
Holdman's versatility should come in handy, as fellow linebackers Mike Barrow and LaVar Arrington are both coming off injuries. If either player suffers a setback, Holdman could fill the gap at either position, assuming he doesn't win a starting job in camp.
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."
Solid signing...hopefully not a year too late. Some guys never bounce back all the way.
I hope that there's some hard choices to make when camp breaks.

Fat Lenny seems to think he'll play in the middle, I WAS thinking the same thing..... now I don't know what to think
• Nice, modestly priced pickup by the Washington Redskins this week, when they signed former Chicago and Cleveland linebacker Warrick Holdman to what is believed to be a one-year contract. Over the last couple of seasons, the six-year veteran hasn't been the same player he was for the Bears early in his career. But Holdman is still just 29 and knows how to play the game, and Redskins defensive coordinator Gregg Williams will figure out a way to make good use of him. The acquisition of Holdman, who has played all three linebacker spots at various junctures of his career, almost certainly will make Mike Barrow expendable. The veteran middle linebacker missed the entire 2004, season and Washington probably will jettison him after June 1, when it needs salary cap space to sign its draft choices. Holdman might join the group of linebackers vying for the starting job in the middle, where the free-agent defection of Antonio Pierce to the New York Giants has created a big hole. But don't discount the possibility that the Redskins will move strong-side linebacker and 2004 Pro Bowler Marcus Washington into the middle, and use Holdman to fill his slot. When they were recruiting Washington last spring as a free agent, Redskins coaches floated the idea of playing him in the middle, and it could happen. Regardless who lines up where, the addition of Holdman gives Williams a lot of flexibility, assuming LaVar Arrington returns whole from the injuries that limited him to just four games a year ago.
