RIC has it right. There is no greater fan of Pat Fischer than me. But, there can be no doubt... DG was the greatest Corner in Redskins history, and one of the greatest ever.

Pat Fischer would not make a team today. The rules have changed too much in favor of primadonna wideouts. He was lucky if he could run 4.7... and that would have required a strong tail wind. Fischer's forte was tenacity and a remarkable ability, for a man who weighed about 175, to intimidate receivers. Ask Harold Charmichael, a man who TOWERED over Fischer, and who probably still has scars from Fischer's cleats in his calves. An opposing receiver always paid attention to where Pat Fischer was... and that no doubt accounted for a good deal of his effectiveness.

Having said that, "football" or whatever his name is said it true - we cannot live in the past.

We have awesome talent. The chemistry needs to build, and it will. Ramsey will be a good, solid QB this year and lead the Skins to thw playoffs behind a much improved O-line. Let Portis take the brunt of the D, let Ramsey air it out, and let our D take care of the rest.

We stand to win a good many games. Health, as it is for all teams, is the key.

Just think, with Jansen healthy last year, add at least 2 more wins.

#28 is legendary. Let the past be, and let's move on with a new generation and a new fight for the NFC.

It didn't help that he smoked like a chimney! They say he used to be so nervous before games he would be smoking a cigarette while waiting to run out on the field for introductions.

One rule change they made was no longer allowing receivers to be cut down on the line of scrimmage. It was the "George Allen rule" because the 'skins defense really started the trend, with Fischer and Mike Bass literally taking out opposing wide outs right on the line of scrimmage.

I love the old guys, but Green was definitely better.
