Well you know Manfreda- he's coaching in San Diego. That's a little harsh, I understand the frustration manfreda, Williams was the trendy pick. However I think that you are not taking into account all the factors that went into the 30th ranked offense 1.) The O-line was poor at best. Jansen was lost for the year, Dockery looked lost at times and Raymer/friedman were a revolving door at center. A healthy Jansen/signing Casey Rabach=an upgrade to the O-line. 2.) Mark Brunnell he is DONE PHYSICALLY he has nothing left in the tank. Do you seriously want him or the weak armed Tim Hasselbeck coming into the game if Ramsey gets hurt. BTW Ramsey does have a long injury history for his three years in DC so Durability is a concern. 3.) The receivers, Coles was a whiner who should have had the toe surgery, I think Santana Moss is an upgrade. A pack of cigarettes is an upgrade over Rod Gardner and I think Patten gives a lot speed to the offense not to mention leadership. McCants, Thrash and Jacobs round out a pretty solid group. We have no superstar but after the antics of Owens and Randy Moss, we don't need one. As for the Rogers pick, Walt Harris is best suited to be a nickel back and Rogers is big enough and fast enough to cover guys like Owens and Moss. Besides if Springs went down we'd up a creek with no paddle. Gibbs is getting rid of malcontents and next year we will have th #15 or #14 offense at least and the #1 Defense that combo worked for NE, TB and Baltimore.

How much is Joe Gibbs paying you to stick for him?

Exactly half of what your big loverboy Mike Williams is paying you!!

Our d was great this year. Our O sucked this year what was our record? Great teams improve on their weakness like when the Pats had no running game and they traded for Corey Dillion. Our like when the Eagles had no recievers and traded for that Owens guy. Or like the Steelers like when they had no Qb and drafted Rothersburger. We won't win games with this team. Because we didn't adress our weakness.

Actually, I now disagree with our entire draft. The guy we really should have chosen with our first pick was that guy, what's his name, he was the spelling bee champion? We could use a good speller around here.

Why would you say it's an upgrade over Hasselback and Brunell? Shows you have no clue, we just signed those players and are stuck with them why add another back-up. In todays league you can't spend too much on one position, you have to spread the money around to be sucessful. Look at Philly and New England, they have great QB's and their back-up QB's are horrible.
The motive behind this pick could only be to let Patrick go after this season, we probably won't be able to afford him with our upcoming salary cap problems anyway, and Gibbs new that.
This is bad, real bad.

We are not "stuck with Hasselbeck" Timmy will go to the Pack or to NE for a 7th rounder. We are stuck with Brunell until 2006 unles he *gasp* retires. We got an elite CB and a good back-up and possible heir apparrent to Ramsey and if Ramsey leaves in 2006 we will not be looking at starting Hasselbeck or an untested rookie or a washout like Tim Couch or Akili Smith

Ramesys trade value? IMHO The Saints give us Darren Howard or next years one. Miami gives us next years one, Cleavland gives us next years one. Then we elevate Jason to Starter and Cut Brunell next year. Hasselbeck may not be spelling bee champ but his wife is a hottie so we keep him.

You are a Qb with a rifle for an arm, smart, tough, loyal, and have an ultra competitive winning attitude. You deserve better, you are overqualifed to be on a Joe Gibbs, Vinny Cerrato, and Dan Synder team. You would have been a star in this league if you weren't in such a bad oraganazation. You have made mediocre recievers look like good players, even pro bowlers. I think you should stop worrying about the Redskins and look out for No.1 (yourself). Gibbs has shown you there is no loyality in this buisness and does not think you will be any good. Ask for a trade now before it is too late. Do it, our your carrer wil be ruined. Don't play for a washed up coach. Our team is going in the wrong direction that is why all our free agents left the team when they had the chance and so should you.

This is the same stupid argument I keep hearing from the Ramsey tribe. So what if he has a "rifle" for an arm? Where has that gotten the Skins? I'd much rather have Chad "noodle arm" Pennington any day of the week.

So would I but Ramsey has no supporting cast his running back is above average at best, poor o-line, and horrible recievers he is not that going to be that good. You know what would help Ramsey become a better Qb more than competition. Its called a better supporting cast on the field. Ramsey's numbers would have skyrocketed if we drafted Mike Williams. A good supporting cast helps a Qb look at Peyton and Rothersburger. Even Pennington, No.1 rushing attack and a very good O-line. Ramsey has jack

Is this the same Ramsey that whined (or rather, had his mouthpiece whine for him) when the Brunell signing was still a rumor ?
To me, a good quarterback rolls with the punches. Any sort of behavior like this shows a man with sensitivites not befitting a field general. Let him prove he can run this team before we hand over the reins.

Ramsey has not done anything but show a great professional attitude during this draft as Jansen said when interviewed. Please do not confuse the silly arguments of some people in this thread with the real views of Patrick.

I will support Patrick this season as much as possible. Our season rides on him. I hope he stays to be our franchise QB for the rest of his active life. I also trust Joe to tell the truth and support Patrick. Joe is a man of his word.

I have endured losing season for ten straight years, I have a right to bad mouth them. If you can't see this is a dump draft than I am glad your profession isn't Football. You also have no brain. 30th ranked offense, 2nd ranked Defense. Hum I wonder what you improve on. Idiots.
"What about our offense, we can't win unless we score" Hoosiers
This quote applys for Football also.

Sould read "This quote applies to Football...except for the 2000 Ravens"

They had a running game though with Jamal Lewis, we have no offense.

Jamal only ran for about 1300 yards that season, the 2000 Ravens defense was great(we beat it though), but all their scoring came from special teams and defensive scoring which sometimes involves luck

Jamal was still pretty good, but our defense is no were near that D. That D scored at least 10 oints a game. Ours is just 3 and outs all times. Our d doesn't have that many turnovers at all. Were just a mistake free team that does its job. This isn't a playmaking D. Which means that we need an offense and that is why we should have drafted Mike Williams. You can't win unless you score.

Wake up dudes. Manfreda is telling it like it is. This is a dump draft, especially a dump Patrick draft. There has been no attempt to address weaknesses. The Front Office is writing off this season for a push later on when Patrick is gone. Campbell is a big gamble. Gibbs doesn't believe in Patrick and management has so screwed things up financially the Skins have to coast for a couple of years. Either that or managements a bunch of idiots. Our offense is terrible. WE have one the dumbest OL's in the league- even with Jansen, not only a lack of first class WR and TE.
So, we use first round picks for D and a backup QB?
