Don't you just get sick listening to these guys cry. I guess this is another core redskin. Lets see we had mr. Smoot, an all time redskin. Before him we had Champ. Now Mr. LAvar. He is only unhappy because he cannot make us feel sorry for him and his millions. I can't remember anything about last year except Lavar crying that they would not let him play. Guess I'm just getting sick of these cry babies.

My bad
I can see your sense of frustration, with some people saying Joe gibbs is pissing them off and hes just another coach..
I respect Gibbs, I would take a bullet for him anyday

It's cool, I was referring to Redskin4life saying he was Pissed at Gibbs. That sort of hurts

I'm just curious why Gibbs would sugar coat Arringtons Rehab to the media and not be honest. Maybee he was being told diffrent stuff. I dont know.

725 posts is alot of loyalty to the Redskins to be Pissed at Joe Gibbs. Not like you don't know what he has done for the organization, Redskin4Life

At this point, I am completely offended by the guys on the current roster. I could care less if any or all of these fools are on the team next year. I mean Moss, Taylor, and Arrington. With all of the money tied to Taylor & Arrington, and possibly Moss, you could fill half a teams roster with that cap space. Arrington WAS my favorite player, Taylor WAS quickly becoming a favorite, now I'll stick to rooting for players like J. Jansen, and J. Thrash.
If those fools want out, let them out!

He's expendable, but do you cut him because of this quote in the paper? My point was that this kind of thing happens all the time with Lavar. . .a reporter sticks a mic in his face and we get whatever he's thinking at the moment. Next week it might be an entirely different story from him (especially if he has a chat with Gibbs between now and then).
And I agree that a single player does not make the defense. We did fine without Arrington this past year. I just would love to see him back on the field for B&G, that's all.
I understand what you're saying completely. I'm just tired of the way he acts. He's just a big child. He really needs to grow up.
Its not al his fault because he has a right to be a little sour over the way Danny handled this team for a long time. A lot of his career has been wasted while Danny has learned his way around.
That being said he needs to be mature enough to realize that this is a different era. We're not even on the field and we can tell a big difference. He just wants to be pacified.

I read the article and then the "update" from Redskins.com and I think that Lavar will be ready to play in July and then this coming season will have his best season as a Redskin.
To me that is all that I'm really interested in. You got a problem with Lavar? - try and imagine your explaining that directly to him!
I feel this guy was just having a reaction (frustration!) to his having to go through surgery (again) and not being able to fully participate in the conditioning program so that he can hit people as hard as possible this season. This guy will be a happy camper when he is back in shape and getting ready to play again.
He is very competitive and a very aggressive player and he will rarely say nice things - he is not a "nice" player.

Arrington should know well enough what happens when you say these things to a reporter.
In fact, I think he´s using the Post to get something out of the Skins: more attention, better treatment from the medical staff, his unpaid 6 mill bonus, etc.
These players aren´t stupid.
IMO, Arrignton has been incredibly over-valued. He constantly gets out of plays trying to be aggresive, often dissapears from games, and always wants to make the big high impact turnover, which rarely works.
I like the guys we right now at LB.
In fact, I say we are better with these who-dat players than Arrington. Less spectacular, but more solid (although loosing Pierce surely will hurt).
"Me,me,me. Give me, give me, give me". Thats all Im hearing from Lavar right now.
Dont know if we really should want him here in the long run.

I guess Lavar got his feelings hurt and now he wants to whine about his knee, and the mystery money that he wants, and the coaching staff, maybe he can say the defense is not suited for him and demands a trade but will not give the bonus money up !!!! . What ever, shut up and play !!!! Just another over paid athlete who has not lived up to the hype !!! lets see if he holds up the team like Coles did !!!! or maybe he wants to rework his current contract like Sean Taylor. If they dont want to be a Redskin get rid of them !!!

If I saw Lavar I WOULD tell him how I feel, I would risk the beating, settlment of $$$, and then I could complain about how no one cares how hard it was for me to recover in bed with $$$$$$$$$. Then I could complain about the part of the settlement that keeps getting delayed, oh say, 60grand out of the original 680,000. Then I could say things like "Nobody really takes the time to express what I went through" and other stuff you shouldn't hear in the offseason.

I bet LaVar is just pissed about still being hurt. He'll get over it. And LaVar is worth more then just a 1st and a 3rd rounder. If Ray Lewis had a new head coach for every year he had been in the league he would have been "out of position" or "freelancing" too.
I can't wait until LaVar gets back onto the field. He has a full year of frustration to get out. I hope we start the season off with that hated team from Texas.

Gibbs probably thought he could hide how bad it really is... if you guys dont remember this is the same coach that would close practices and put guards around the perimeter and fly helicopters over redskin park because he thought people were scouting his practices....
he is and has always played everything tight to the vest....

lavar arrington is cancer....
i keep hearing all this talk about core redskins.... well the fact is we have sucked for the last ten years... so any redskins that are "core" redskins.... are rotten to the "core"....
lavar says:
" I worked my [butt] off to get back on the field and for what? Three [late-season] games? There wasn't no playoffs on the line. There wasn't no Super Bowls, and I still worked my [butt] off to play in those three games. . . . It never ceases to amaze me the things that go on here, but I'm here and I still love the Redskins. That's the bottom line."
Lavar must have a different contract than any other player that says he is only supposed to play if the playoffs or superbowl is possible... what an idiot...
"i worked my butt off to get back on the field and for what?"
::::: because it is your freaking job.....!!!!!!
I work my butt off and get no love at my job... but i don't whine about... i just collect my check and have fun... life is too short....
once again... arrington is cancer.... we don't need him....need being the key word.....

Arrington is a big prima donna. He was that way at Penn State, and he is going to be the same down here.
Having said that, however, many of the players in the NFL forget that the golden goose can just decide to stop laying eggs for you. As much as they want to get paid, in reality, there are plenty of people behind them that would take the job for less, and the owners know it.
Until the owners, collectively, state that they will not tolerate these antics, be prepared for more to come. The CBA is friendly toward the player and not the owners!
I agree that they should get paid, and paid well, but c'mon, LA. You sent yourself back before you were ready, by your admission! Also, when does Joe Gibbs owe you the courtesy of telling everyone how you are doing. You have Email!
Maybe, he would prefer to actually plan how to win a super bowl, you over-paid, whiney, brat!
No point..just venting!

From what I've seen this offseason Joe Gibbs has pissed me off. yeah yeah I know what hes done in the past but what has he done for me lately? I'm only 15 and dont even remember watchin the Redskins win those titles so to me Joe Gibbs is just a guy with a legacy behind his name. My feelings might have been different had I experienced his greatness the first get go, but for now, he's really handled this GM duty pretty poorly

WTF?!?!
Lavar is frustrated. Fine. But what the h*** are you talking about?
Like I still don't think my whole injury from the first time has ever really been talked about
I remember a Lavar update EVERY WEEK during the season.
I'm trying to get back on the field, and I jacked it up because I came back too early, and nobody talks about it. I had to go out and get another surgery to clean it out from doing that
I don't remember anyone pushing him to play at the end of the season. The sentiment was to give him the time he needed to get healthy.
I had to go out and get another surgery to clean it out from doing that, and I'm looking on the [news] wire to see if anybody even talked about it, and nobody talked about it. It's mixed emotions
Players get injured. They rehab. They try to come back. I didn't hear Brandon Noble complain that nobody talked about how hard his rehab was. That was a possible career ender. I didn't hear Jansen complain about nobody talking about his rehab on IR.
Lavar is one of my favorite Redskins, and I truly believe this defense will be vastly improved with him on the field. But I am losing respect for him. Don't complain that people are forgetting you. Just do your job and get back on the field. Then we can talk about your play.

I guess the owner of the Atlanta Falcons was absolutely crazy to fire Dan Reeves to make a spot for him to come back to.
Learn some football, junior!

I'm not sure what that sentence about Dan Reeves meant... could u re-word it for me?

And about learning football, I can pretty much guarantee you I know more football than at least 3/4 of this message board

Lavar is emotional right now, and I think you guys overlook the amount of pain and sacrifice these guys do to themselves for the team. I think this is why players handle this as a business because it is.
Have any of you seen Jim Otto's knees? The average life span of an NFL athlete is barely 60 years old.
We wonder why players are so business minded these days...because they are not treated like people, more like horses. They are expected to overcome biology and science and risk seriously damaging their bodies for a football game.
That's my bit....i kinda thought Lavar was sour when Courtney Brown didn't sign with us. It is clear that he may have been upset for a while, he needs to address the coaches about this rather than addressing the media, now that is just wrong.

Lavarr is always emotional. Sometimes so emotional he overruns the play. If i remember correctly he was begging to get back on the field last year. As for him saying they pushed him to hard, give it up. If the skins start winning and he isn't out there you wait and see who is rushing who.
Gibbs is an exceptional coach but it takes time to fix all the issues the skins have accumulated. If you look back at who where the skins linebackers. No really big names that i remember. Mel Kauffman, Rich Milot, Monty Coleman. They made their name once they got to D.C. That my friend is what Joe Gibbs is doing or trying to do again. So Lavarr it's not all about you. Its about the team. If he can't grasp that concept someone else will. That i am sure .

If hes injuired motivate him, and dont lie to the media either. i dont know what Gibbs and the Staff are thinking and it better be what Arrington wants, because if Arrington leaves there goes our Defense. Our once amazing Linebacker Core would deteriorate. Gibbs better straighten this out before anything goes wrong.
too bad he's not the best player on D anymore. sean taylor assumed that role last year. lavar wishes he could hold taylor's strap. it would be fun seeing lavar trying to prove his worth though. and i guess the team should just stop holding meetings, and mini camps, until lavar feels like he's ready again?

please. you highschool kids are something else.
and yea, there goes our D, the same one that was awesome WITHOUT 'lavar my knee has a widdle boo boo, and i wanna whine about it, arrington' last year. team sport, not lavar sport.

Maybe it was not clear to some!
Some people are getting very worried and assuming that what was reported is "as it is". This is a "reported" piece. Things are often taken out of context by these guys and we should take it for what it is.
I personally think it is misguided to think that we will not have a very dedicated Lavar playing OLB for us this season. Again, does it matter what reporters or "informed sources" are saying in April? These guys love to hype up the negatives! Why not make a point of the fact that Arrington is really looking forward to a good season and that he will be playing for us? They want to hype all the negatives of this and allude to a bunch of other things to "support" their BS theories!
This is trash speculation and Lavar will make our D even better this season.
Those Redskin "fans" that are feeling a little negative towards Gibbs and our Redskins are in for some pie treats this year.
