WHAT??? I'm confused! Did he change his number or not??

Yes, he did. He kept getting calls from some guy demanding that he accept Jesus Christ as his lor-didilly-ord and savior.

Didn't Michael Jordan do something like this once ?

I think he did it because his number had been retired while he was off with his hobby.

Absolutely. I'm sure a man of his stature wouldn't stoop to trying to squeeze some more coin from the legion of fans who were pining for his return.
Like, say, with sneakers or something.

I have a Taylor #36 and a Smoot #21 jersey. Can I take off the name "Taylor" and tape it over "Smoot" on the 21 jersey?
This sucks.

My advice: leave it. It will have class. You look like someone who remembers "way back when" to the '04 season.
As a matter of fact, I love when I see Capitals fans wearing their old original-scheme red jerseys with "Miller" or "Ridley" or "Gartner" and such.

Mine too. All time.
"Look! The Warrior returns!": John Davidson, Rangers TV announcer, to his sidekick, Sam Rosen, after Langway had left the ice in the 2nd period with a broken nose. Not just broken, but flattened against his face. Bleeding badly. Sam and JD were saying, "No, a player doesn't come back into the game when his nose has been smashed like that."
About five minutes into the third period, Langway skated onto the ice, and Davidson, who always praised Langway to the skies, just went nuts.
Best between-periods interviews ever: Davidson and Langway teasing each other about the days when Davidson played goalie and Langway played against him.

I guess Taylor is still #36 after all. What a cluster f.
A miscommunication between Taylor and team officials resulted in the Redskins ordering and selling jerseys with his name and the No. 21 on the back at team stores. Taylor did not change from No. 36, however, and, according to a team representative, the mistake has been corrected. Those who bought the No. 21 jersey will be given refunds if they desire.

Factory misprints are worth more when dealing with other things, but how would one verify that they had an authentic misprint instead of a custom ordered jersey?

Good point, eagle fan. I never thought about that.

Good point GF!
There are still some who think that ST had something to do with all this! It is amazing sometimes how quickly people deduce things because of what they "read somewhere" or better yet "heard from someone"!
Taylor will be in a Redskin jersey next year and hopefully for many more, but he better be making a big effort to stay or he can pick his # somewhere else. Joe will not tolerate selfish prima-donnas. Now, if he wants to be a team player, Joe will be a lot more tolerant of him
no number change for taylor!

Time to go out and buy those now "rare" #21 jerseys. Hopefully, he'll sign them.
