The biggest draft coup in history has to be Dallas' selection of Herschel Walker in the 5th round in 1985.

Winning 3 Super Bowls because of a single 5th rounder ends most discussion on the subject.

How about winning three with a sixth round pick....and actaully with the player picked.

Brady is simply one piece of the puzzle that makes NE a dynasty. The players that Dallas parlayed that pick into were good enough to win a Super Bowl with Barry Switzer coaching.

What about Jerry Rice? He is probably the best player ever in the league. I know he was a first round pick but 15 teams past over him before he was picked, and you can't really argue with his stats. I say he is the best.

the topic it "Greatest Draft Pick of All Time" which means, 1rst rounders like Rice... probably don't count... but he'd certainly be up there with the Greatest Players of All Time..

Oh yeah... an all Pro Line.... he was only sacked 41 times during his first SB run... 32 his second SB run, and 26 his third.... yes... he was well protected...

The WR'a were a good group that worked well together, but none of them are of ProBowl quality... nor have any of them ever been consistent...

Their defense being the best is a crock... they've only been in the top 10 the past two years... but nowhere near the best and they were ranked in the lower half during the first SB run....

so basically he had a little above diddly around him....

And having the best coach of this generation is still up for debate.... sure I'll admit he's good but he lost both his right handed men this year... nor did he do anything in Cleveland... nor did he do anything with Bledsoe.... there's some kinda magic in Tom Brady somewhere... you can see it when he plays....

and for being picked in the 6th round and already accomplishing what Montanna and Elway have SB wise... the kids got to be the best "Draft Pick" ever... IMO... if he was taken in the first... maybe not... but for picking him up in the sixth... he's got to be....

The same team couldn't win a game with Bledsoe at the helm. Then Brady comes in and wins the super bowl with the exact same team that was losing. He didn't need three other helpers.

Brady is a good player but he has more help than anyone...........Pat could be successful in that offense........what pro qb couldn't, besides Bledsoe

TD was a great pick, but I think the best pick was Darelll Green, not that it was late or anything.....I just love DG is anyone going to oppose me on that

Just because he was a redskin and stuck around for 20 years doesn't make him THE GREATEST DRAFT PICK OF ALL TIME... and he was a first round pick..

...half of you are mucking up a perfectly good thread by not understanding the TOPIC... It's not the greatest player of all time... it's the greatest draft pick of all time... so grabbing a player in the first round doesn't make him the greatest draft pick of all time because 1rst round picks are SUPPOSE to be GREAT...

It's much easier to find a great player in the early rounds than it is in the later rounds... so the later the round & the greater the player is... the greater the pick
