If he stays healthy and comes cheap great! I would have to say the chance of injury is slighty hire playing for the Browns as their D is on the field 70% of the time. So with any luck and a great cast of Defensive guys surrounding him, maybe just maybe he might make it through a season?! Provided our offence picks it up a little this year too.

Past injuries have proven to not always be a problem, lets remeber that Shawn Springs according to all analysts would be injured throughout our season due to his past.

So was Springs and look how he turned out playing for our beloved Skins.

I think I read that somewhere before Chris

Ah, sorry about that, I didn't read through the entire thread. I was just confirmation for your intelligent post!

No because up untill his release which was today they were not allowed to discuss getting him because it would be breaking NFL tamering rules.
The only thing they did say was that they will look at all possible players who get released by thier teams.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I can see other teams that might make a real big play for him....Philly or Minnesota, for example. Both teams have money to burn, and would love to upgrade.
I think we will lose any bidding war courtesy of LC...

Scary thought...Kearse and Brown on opposite sides...

thanks jake...
Philly wouldn't want him...they don't sign guys that have had injury issues or are older players. Vikes might.

The Eagles took Kearse who had an injury history.
I just have a real strong feeling that Brown will be a Redskin. And I am excited about it. Real excited. I believe that Brown can have some really productive seasons. I'd say pay him no more than we paid Daniels.
I think it is a lock he will come here. He gets to be in a Williams defense and he doesn't have to be "The Guy" Plus the opportunity to reunite with LaVar. LaVar could help make the transition seemless.

My excitement is somewhat tempered by the injury issue, but I feel like we could do more with this guy than most other teams.
Guys are constantly rotated in and out of the "D" in Washington these days...less pressure on Courtney.
I think he'd dig that.

And we picked up Springs who "had an injury history"

Hmmm.... I hope we dont work out a deal with Brown only to have a special master step in and give him to the Eagles.

I am still upset over the league giving TO to the Eagles for nothing after the Niners and Ravens worked out a trade. Even tho I hate the Ravens... I just hate the Eagles that much more...
I haven't been able to let go of that...
"Special master"
What a crock....

Courtney Brown & Lavar Arrington on the Skins, that would be wild.
I don't think Brown is garbage like people are saying, the kid struggled in CLE but GW can get alot more out of him then the browns can.
For the right price, this is a no brainer...go get em.

I agree with Baron von Smizzenheimer, and most of the rest of you, here.
If Brown can find a way to stay healthy, I think he would be a tremendous addition to this team. The health is a concern, to be sure...but if we can get him over the "hump"...you gotta agree that he can be one hellofa pick-up.

by die cowboys die
just sign him to an incentive-heavy contract. that way if he gets injured or underperforms, we don't waste a bunch of money on him.
it might be hard to get him to agree to that but i don't see why it should be, think about it--- at this point he is considered somewhat of a "bust" and injury-prone, so probably won't get a lot of money anyway. but this would give him the chance to get more money, so you'd think he'd go for it.
just a thought.

I hope we sign Brown. Gibbs is smart enough to sign him to an incentive laden contract. With Williams and Blache working with Brown I can only imagine how strong our DL will be. This also will allow us to focus on CB, WR, TE and OL in the draft.
