Apparently he hurt his neck and can no longer wrestle.
Brian Clark of kronic also got hurt and will not wrestle again... ruptured vertebrae and he had part of his collar bone removed.
I still can't think of Brian Clark without singing Demolition's entrance music....
I am most defintely wrestling sick.

I am, and have always been a devoted Piper fan. He really never had a lights-out finisher, except for that kinda lame sleeper.
Gun to my head ? Crossface Chickenwing, as done by Backlund. Bret Hart and the Sharpshooter are not far behind.
Most dramatic for me was the Tombstone Piledriver.

Here's a pic to see if that's who it was:

I remember he had contact lenses with yellow mushroom clouds on them and there wasn't really any such thing as 'novelty' contacts back then.
Man, brings back a lot of memories. I named my iguana "Adam Bomb" when I was 9. Man, he was a cool lizard.
As far as finishing moves... what about Yokozuna's jump off the bottom rope onto his opponent's chests? I would hate to see a 500 pound dude jump on top of me.

This goes without saying, little buddy.
Yokozuna. (
sigh)
Another young guy, dead. His name was really Rodney something, and I seem to recall some connection between he and the Tonga Kid from the late eighties, early nineties. Part of the Islanders tag-team.
I know that this isn't the topic, but...while we're all on wrestling...isn't it just wrong, all these younger guys dropping like flies ? Bossman, Owen...
Forget the whole VonErich mess. Ms. Elizabeth ?
Man.

that was a awsome!
and speaking of fat 500 pound wrestlers, what about the big guy who shoved his butt in the opponents face and suffocated him for like 10 sec.

i forget his name though, i think it was something like Ringo or something.

Rodney Anoa'i

Tonga kid was LARRY Anoa'i... so yeah... there is a connection. I don't know if they are brothers or cousins but i do know that both of them called Afa and Sika uncle. Afa and Sika were of course the Wild Samoans. (who actually started as the islanders long before the early 90s)
The Wild Samoans run their own wrstling school now... they actually trained Batista and Snitsky (who fought each other last night on Raw). Rosey - Super hero in Training - is Matt Anoa'i --> also Afa's nephew.

I confess to not having watched "Raw" since they shafted Roddy. All he did was say, "Hey...the wrestlers need to be allowed to unionize to ensure some benefits."
His reward ? First train out of Greenwich.
It's crap.

He'll be at the next Wrestlemania in Piper's Pit or something with Steve Austin

Well brother, i'm not siding with the WWE at all, but that's not exactly what happened. He went on HBO and made some pretty disparaging remarks. Not just about unionizing but about drugs and the role they play in wrestling. What did he think was going to happen? Vince... a man who is no stranger to drug scandals in the WWE... would obviously NEVER stand for it.
But if we're perfectly honest (and I love Roddy likely as much as you do).... he was TERRIBLE the entire time he was back in the WWE. He was fat, out of shape, and awful in the ring.
He's coming back for Wrestlemania so obviously he's buried the hatchet... surprising since he's playing such a prominent role in TNA right now. Him Zybysko and Race are the 'Championship committee' which usually means your inking most of the storylines.
General Failure wrote:Whatshername, the chick that used to be Miss Madness, she was actually pretty decent in WCW. I don't watch rasslin' anymore, but I imagine she doesn't get to do much in the WWE's T&A matches.
Missed this originally... I definitely should have added Molly Holly to mae and Moolah as women who can actually wrestle, you're right. She gets a fair bit of play, but not like the Diva wrestlers seem to thesedays.
