Gardner is as goog as gone

We will pick up a WR in free agency

Gibbs said he will be opening up the offense in 2005 so we may have 5 WRs on the active roster

I would like to see D-Mac get some playing time, if not in Washington than were ever he can get on the field at

I was just about to say that nikster, with gibbs opening things up next year we'll drop a TE on the active roster and pick up a WR. And from me watching last year and this year, Mccants has impressed me more than gardner AND jacobs. I really don't see much from jacobs. Sure he can block and play special teams but that doesn't mean he can get open. IF you guys want proof of when Dmac prooved himself this year i can give it to you. The philly game. When coles dropped a few passes early on and so did gardner, who then went into hiding. We put in Dmac, and he got TWO back to back completions, FOR MORE THAN 15 YARDS. I believe that was the only time it happened all season. They were across the middle too. AND HE HELD ONTO THE BALL, HE DIDN'T DROP IT. Enough said, this guy is a talent, should be on the field and shouldn't be inactive. Drop gardner, drop jacobs, put in dmac. What happened to those comparisons to Art Monk in the beginning of the year by gibbs?

Sound like an Eagle fan speaking about Freddie Mitchell...

"YOU SEE!? HE HELD ON TO A 30 YARD PASS! HE IS SO FREAKING AWESOME! LETS CALL HIM "FIRST DOWN" FREDDIE!!

Also, don't start on Coles dropping balls. Coles has balls as well to go over the middle and then holds onto the ball when he isn't playing with only four fingers.

Also, don't say he is soft; you see that Eagles game getting knocked senseless and still getting up quickly? You might like that. You're a guy impressed by single plays.

Hey Smithian, I'm impressed by single plays too! Especially when one single play is all McCants got to play in some games this year. Well, maybe it was two or even three plays a game, but there wasn't anymore then that.

i will try and answer that for smithian....

you are correct, he can't prove what he can do because he hasn't played that much and he is behind thrash and jacobs...

I will pose a question to you.. why is thrash and jacobs getting more reps than mcants?

I don't know and neither does anyone else... but think back to when spurrier was here... he ran alot of 4 and 4 wr sets and had more active wr's on any given sunday...

Mcants still didn't get a lot of playing time then... it isn't like he used to be our starter and all of sudden this year he got benched... he has never really played much...

We are stacked at WR and someone has to be the odd man out... it is Mcants and technically it always has been... snyder and gibbs recognized his talent and contribution from two seasons ago and paid the guy... that doesn't mean they have to start him...

imo... when gardner is gone mccants will get some playing time...
See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!

Sorry, didn't see your post.

I am saying hat McCants showed me something... He had two good catches.

He also then showed me in another game his ability to have unGodly brain farts that make Arrington look smart... Not even High School players should make tackle blocks.

McCants is nothing short of a stud WR in the Red Zone. With the Redskins revamping their offense next year (hopefully), I think they'll appreciate the skills McCants brings to the table and, hopefully, they'll keep him and play him more next year.

McCants is about as overrated as a football player can get, I have yet to figure out why everyone here loves him so much.

He is a big body with some decent hands... terrible special teams player, and not starting wideout material.

Even Joe Gibbs has lost faith in him, and this is the same man who dropped Mark Brunell from the starting lineup about 8 games too late.

What does McCants do well? He certainly doesn't play WR well enough to get away with being a terrible special teams contributor... He's most likely gone IMO.

I can't speak for everyone but the reason I like him so much is that he is a very physical receiver over the middle...and in the Red Zone. He will go out and fight for the ball...and usually come down with it.

Not many guys seem to be doing that in the NFL these days. Just ask Philly.

Still JH, he's a one trick pony...

We've got Cooley who can do what you just described and more... plue we can get a big physical reciever in free agency or the draft who can be twice as good as McCants...

Because in the horrible times of Spurier, McCants was one of the very few bright spots. (Ramsey/Coles being the others) He played well when our offense was in shambles. That is why people like Ramsey and McCants are highly regarded in DC. They played well and hung in there, even know the team was....we'll Spurrier coached.

I thought that was pretty freakin funny!!! He just straight up slammed that DB! Then laid on top of him. I bet that DB felt like he had just been punked out.

I'll admit it though, it was a 'bad play' on his part. And it was only one. It was only one, "single play" as you call it.

If you haven't figured it out by now, you never will.

How do you know he's a terrible special teams player and not starting material? He's never done either before. It doesn't mean he's terrible.

Smithian, in my post I was putting on an emphasis on the two catches because he's the only one that put up back to back catches. I wasn't putting down coles, I love his game and think he's our teams Hines Ward. But I think we're wasting a talent in Mccants. He played maybe 10 plays in that philly game and came up with three catches. That in my opinion is wasting talent. How many catches did Jacobs have this year? I sure saw him in the lineup a lot but didn't see him making many plays. Wish gibbs would open up his eyes some and put in Dmac.

I heard that he doesn't practice well.

I also heard that his work ethic is questionable compared to our other recievers, and Joe of coarse doesn't like that. So maybe thats why he didn't see much playing time.
