I really hope you are kidding about Holcomb. He is TERRIBLE.

I agree as a starter he is not that good but if you remember he had some really good games as a back up the year the Browns made the playoffs. I think he will be a career back up.

Oh, I remember alright. They also lost those games too. Keep Tim and we'll be ok.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

Gibbs has worked with Ramsey for most of a year now, including study sessions and training camps. Ramsey is learning, but he's not done yet. Sometimes he makes mistakes, and he is still a bit tangle-footed...like Mark Rypien but with a sharper arm.

Remember that Rypien was parachute-dropped into starting when Williams went down with appendicitis, but the players Rypien led had just won SB 22. Ramsey is learning with a team that is being re-built.

I think he will improve, and Tim H. is a solid backup. Brunnell baffles me...I can't remember a QB getting so bad so quickly...but I'm not smart enough to understand the salary cap and implications.

However, if this is to be yet another "QB controversy", then I repeat, why not the best?

- He hasn't lost a step

- He knows the Redskins as well as anyone except Gibbs and the coaches

- He has lost the pot-belly, which is disturbing, but might only mean he wants to impress the new coach with his determination. He did the same when Vince Lombardi was hired.

- He has shown the best field-vision, quickest release, and most accuracy of any QB who ever played

Re-sign Sonny Jurgenson.

Sonny would probably say "they couldn't afford me"...
I'm just stirrin' the pot and living in the '70s.

Because he might

1) get a heart attack on his way out of the tunnel??? [-X
2) try to recover his old "shape"??? -drinking
3) show the new generation how it was really done with less salary in the older days??? :hail:

After all, when you pass two out of three things can go wrong. Right? :hmm:
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Speaking of QBs! I see that our old back-up Sage is likely to start for the fins this week.

Did he not show some promise but just not get an opportunity? I see that he is an UFA but he probably is not going to be much of an upgrade over TH.

maybe we should give Sonny a shot....or Mark.....or Doug....or ?

NO not him!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

That would be my pick

why would you want him....?

he has proven this year he isn't a leader... that team has quit... both on the defensive and offensive side....

correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the quarterback set the tone for the whole offense...?

stay away from Hasselbust....

the only player worth taking a risk on.. that was on that list is Mike Mcmahon DET.... he could turn out to te a Delhomme type guy....[/quote]

He is not a leader because he has worst recievers than we do. He is much better than Brunell and Tim.

QB Kurt Warner will be a free agent now that he's voided the remainder of his contract. He wants to start -- not that I want him as a starter in DC but do you think he'd make a decent backup??? I mean, where on earth does he think he can have a starting role at?? Cleveland? Maybe Greenbay if Brett leaves.
All Hail the Redskins!
