Kirk Cousins is going to get a HUGE contract and he deserves it
he really needs to find out who made the incredibly STUPID DECISION to go in the wrong direction in the 2nd & 4th qtrs
THAT IDIOT COST US THE GAME and could have mean't an even bigger deal for Kirk

Yes he will, look at the QBs around the rest of the league...it's pretty dreadful. Either Kirk will agree to a handsome long term contract with the Skins or he will force the Skins to use the Franchise Tag to the tune of over $20 million
I don't know about that.

I'm no football genius, but I think the poor blocking, poor tackling, and mediocre effort by our receivers (Jackson especially) had more to do with the loss than which way the wind was blowing.

Hey, moron...the team is down 17. Of course he had to take some chances in the second half. What did you want him to do, take a knee to avoid potentially throwing a pick?
He took 2 sacks at end of game and one on 4th down-how stupid can KC be. Should he have tried there? Those should of been picks are weak armed efforts.
he is not good enough.
Outscored 32-7. KC was no where to be found. He should have had 4 picks.
When he eats up franchise QB salary cap next year we'll see if he can carry the load of the displaced players.
Jordan Reed is a badass though. KC would have been nothing without him.

You're right. The Skins should let Kirk walk and mortgage their future to get the top QB in the draft...

Skins mortgaged their entire franchise on a QB that never panned out. It would be foolish to do the same again if they were not 100% sure. Kirk may be the guy, he may not be the guy, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I wouldn't jeapordise our cap space for him unless I knew he was a top tier QB. But what do I know.

With Scot building this team, we will be contending very soon. We have a potentially elite QB, great receivers, te, the makings of a great oline. Niles and the defensive guys coming back is major too. I think with an infusion of oline, defensive backfield and more depth from the offseason, we will be good next year. The year after possibly contend. I'm excited again! Thank you Scot and captain kirk!

Kirk is getting paid, may as well accept it and trust Scot on this one. He's been so glaringly right about everything else so far, i have no choice but to believe in his decisions... The skins are in excellent shape on the cap as well, so that is no concern. Qbs make a lot these days. That's just the way it is..

As long as we cap room to make those accommodations.

They are projected to be about 28 mil under the cap next season and then you have these contracts.
WR DeSean Jackson, 29, $6.7 millionS Dashon Goldson, 32, $8 millionDE Jason Hatcher, 34, $4.2 millionCB DeAngelo Hall, 32, $3.4 millionWR Andre Roberts, 28, $3.0 million
Some of those get released and some reworked. We will have a lot of cap space even after kirks deal

We are ahead of schedule, but there is still a lot of work to do. We need a NT, our secondary is pretty bad, we need help at LB (do love Will Compton) we need a center, we need a left guard and right tackle. We need a TE that can block (Niles will be back).

While Kirk IS our franchise qb moving forward, his arm is weak compared to Roberts ... Man I wish we could cut RGiiis cannon off and insert it on to Kirk.
Cannons don't win games though, and while this sucked to watch... I 100% agree with Hitman, we got the wrong Gruden. Out coached by a country mile- and he has no idea what to do. Did you nOT watch the Vikings beat them last week????? Blueprint
Even still that wouldn't change the fact that we got the wrong Gruden.
Yes! Kirk has developed well, and is the direction we should go moving forward... Props to Jay for I making the change, then weathering the storm. However, we need a REAL coach who isn't a fcking idiot, who constantly gets out classed by REAL coaches.
This guy is looking lost in space in the most important game of his career- unfortunately Kirk and Reed saved his fatass from kicking dirt this off season.. Damn
Give it a day or two before making sweeping statements like this.
Why? What'd I miss boss?

I do like that - well at least the season before this game
what pissed me off was that someone made a critical decision to go the wrong direction in the 2nd and 4th qtrs
Aaron Rodgers got the "game" he wanted - WE GAVE IT TO HIM
we led by 11 but we were heading in the wrong direction in the 2 most important quarters
LIKE I SAID - what a great season but whoever made that call made a terrible decision
So, you'd have preferred that GB got the head start... I can only imagine that would have been worse... but, whatever... you're going to think what you want to think...

This is pretty well known... If they don't come to terms, they will use the tag.

The Skins' defense started like gangbusters but once Green Bay went to max protect Aaron Rogers had all day to pass and methodically exposed our secondary and the Green Bay line opened up holes for their backs. Reed play well and Cousins played well for the most part but he was really under duress throughout.
The loss falls on the defense for the most part but I am disappointed with the play calling today I don't understand why the Skins didn't use any shuttle passes or a screen passes until late in the game to punish Green Bay for their aggressive pass rush.
I think Green Bay controlled both lines of scrimmage except for the first couple of series. I thought our guys would make a much better show it.

As Joe Gibbs taught us, the OL and DL are the engine of the race car. Finesse worked some for the offense, but it came down to blocking on both offense and defense. Redskins got blocked and didn't block well enough.
I trust this GM to improve the team. Yes, keep Cousins. He doesn't have to be all-pro...just be good enough.

ref the decision to go against the wind in the 2nd and 4th qtrs ...
Countertrey wrote:So, you'd have preferred that GB got the head start... I can only imagine that would have been worse... but, whatever... you're going to think what you want to think...
IMO the most important time to have the wind (30MPH) would have been before the half and to finish the game
TRUE - we do not know what may have happened but IMO Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were not in sync and started out playing like they had been recently until all of a sudden, the momentum switched and he got comfortable - when I saw that first punt of theirs, I thought OMG - this is going to be bad, what if we need a FG at the half or to win the game - hey, we'll never know but I think I'd rather have started against the wind and played against that mob than the team that suddenly showed up and scored 17 points
NOT a big deal, although at the time I was really pissed ...
GREAT season and the franchise is headed in a good direction
