You are what your record says you are. We're 8-7 and playing a home playoff game. Who gives a crap who we beat or how we beat them to get here. Some of you are probably still complaining about how we won those Super Bowls.

EXACTLY - we're on the same type of roll right now and I think we'll most likely get the Seahawks in the first game who are not looking all that dominant at this time

the most important FACT is we're in the playoffs and we have a home game

second most important FACT is that we're playing well at the right time of the season

was that the Garcon pass?

Yeah. That was a legit NFL QB throw. The type we haven't seen a Redskins QB make...like ever.

It was a great throw, but RGIII had a couple of those in 2012, and Ryp had some in '91, and Sonny had plenty in his day too

When the announcers last night were naming the Skins' possible first play-off opponents (SEA, GB, MIN, or ATL), I thought to myself the Skins can take ATL, they stink. MIN would be a toss-up, but there's no way in hell we are beating GB or SEA. No way in hell! I don't know what's happened to our run game, but it's basically non-existent. Is Almo hurt or something? He looks awful! It's time to bench him and play the other back (don't remember his name)...he has looked much better than Almo...we need to do something to get the running game back as the offense has become way too pass happy. What happens when the passing game isn't working and we have no running game? I guess we lose. And that bone-headed debacle at the end of the 1st half, WTH was that? Stupid crap like that can easily cost us the game in a close one. Luckily last night's game wasn't close enough to make that a factor. As I watched last night's game I just kept thinking to myself, which other play-off teams are watching this game and thinking they don't want to play either of these teams. I have the feeling that if teams double up on Reed, we're done. Yes, Jackson and Garcon had a couple of decent catches last night, but I don't think they're going to carry the offense if Reed is shut down, and with no running game, I don't like our chances. Maybe this team will shock (and it would be a shock) me and step it up by beating a team like GB or SEA, but I don't think they're there yet, however, I don't think anyone can say they haven't improved...

Ok fair enough. I say their improvement is smoke and mirrors imho. They beat teams that are hanging it, disintegrating and floundering at the end of the year. Meh. Look at the Dallas game a few weeks ago. A team with pride with a BU QB makes KC looks like Matt Flynn and Jay Gruden looks like the Arena Coach he is. Gruden was clear not to be NFL quality after that game and Cousins still reminded people of a BU QB with his inability to deliver. Now they are franchise components? No way I say. But if you are right and I am wrong it is time for KC and Fat Gruden to prepare and perform against a good team. Lets see if stupid Gruden has the brain power to outcoach someone and if KC has the physical ability to make plays that require beating better talent. Im not interested in a playoff every few years. I want a good team that is capable of winning it all for an extended period of time. No way Gruden has that ability. I seriously doubt Cousins has that physical ability. Weve been sold this routine for the past 20 years-trashpile people coming in and lucking into a playoff and we are to be sold that we have the foundation of a real team. I wont be happy until we have that and I don't think we are even close.

If you're so sure that Gruden and KC both stink, then who do we replace them with? Please tell us, who do you choose from the long list of out-of-work, Superbowl winning caliber QBs and head coaches? We have who we have and there's no reason the team can't win with it's current staff. The only real problem I see with the team right now is they've got to figure out how to get the running game back...Almo just ain't cutting it...

Ryp actually made lots of those throws... it was his strong suit, and the primary reason the skins would often open the game with a 50 yard pass attempt... this would immediately result in either a touchdown, of a soft box at the line of scrimmage, opening tons of room for the run game, and make play action a KILLER. Just some of the genius of Gibbs V1

I do remember Ryp making a few of those (but I'm specifically talking about that pass - a deep fade passes in the end zone). I don't remember RG3 making any of those. The placement has to be perfect; RG3 hit some nice deep passes in stride in 2012, but not deep endzone fades.

Sonny...well...I grew up with Gibbs 1; Jurgensen was before my time.

Sure he did. I remember one in particular to Santana Moss who did an amazing toe tap to complete the play.

Beat me to it.. but Ya he made the same fade pass a few times that year. The Tanna one being the most memorable and perfectly placed

The fade is a work of art, when done correctly. Requires a lot of work to get it right.
