Even with the injuries we beat ourselves. Putting the fact that is a preseason game aside, 2 fumbles and 1 int took the game from us. Our poor defense didn't even completely take us out the game.

Im not really worried about the defense EXCEPT for one thing. The poor tackling really got under my skin. Jimoh deserves to be cut, that is my new crusade!

The timing of the second on-field interview was ridiculous. Do the TV guys watch the game.
Green and whoever were droning on and on during the the game's decisive series-- when Carolina drove to score a TD to expand its three point lead to a a double digit lead we couldn't likely overcome.
Was it just me screaming at the set in rage, or did I have company.

What a horrible night. What the devil was wrong with Patrick-- with his mind. It appears he can't function when he's he no.1. He gets glassy eyed and looks like he's in a fog. I'm a real Ramsey fan, but have begun to question the soundness of his mind.
No one has mentioned the guy who was most surprising-- Sellers (he looked like a receiver. Or did I just imagine it.
I loved Nemo...what a great addition. He's the reason tonight I don't leap from some building.
Antonio was OK. I still need convincing that Patten and Moss can get the job done. As a matter of fact, I don't think they can.

Forget Brunell. Think back. He looked good at the start of the pre-season last year too. That zip you saw will fade, and fade fast. The arm's too old. It will wilt.

If I were Gibbs, I would start Campbell next week, or at least bring him in for the second quarter. I have a feeling we're going to need him sooner than later. I wouldn't go into game 1 with Brunell starting for a pot of money. If Patrick still sucks two weeks from now, I'd start getting Campbell ready for game one.

Rock's a known commodity. He looked good tonight but that was against scrubs. I don't see the point in keeping Combs and Forsey, except to keep people we don't want to get hurt off the preseason field.
Gibbs is to be admired for pulling Portis immediately. It means he knows Portis will be the man with the big job this year-- which means he knows the passing attack will not be there.
It's simply not true that our receivers are going to cut it, unless something freaky happens...like Taylor coming through...or Dyson making a comeback...or Gibbs coming up with a twist.
I would have liked to see a package in which ey was used as a TE. I thought White was going to get more of a shot tonight, with ey at TE...or at least I hoped so.
I hate to be a maniac about it, but we've simply got to get more receiving talent on the field.
Forget about what happened on defense. We had seven guys missing from the first unit.

One last thought: Harris is probably through, if we were watching the real Walt, which seems doubtful. He looked like an old man tonight and was right up there in badland with Jimoh.

Overall I was incredibly pleased with the O-line. I wish we could generate even a little push on the D-line, but that didn't happen tonight. The tackling on defense was unbelievably bad. There is no excuse for arm-tackling someone. Ramsey didn't look too comfortable because it was as if he never looked down field. Campbell impressed me, as did Brunell with the zip on his throws. Ah screw it, I could go on and on. It did appear like some improvements have definitely been made, so heres hoping that we will have a better season.

So, I have to admit, I wasn't paying extremely close attention at the moment that field goal was blocked. I saw we had a good push up the middle, but was that our doing? Or did a panther fall down?

First off let me say I didn't see the game, will watch it on Monday. I did see a few minutes on NFL network. What amazes me is how high and low you'll get over a pre-season game its pre-season!! It has already been mentioned how bad the Skins were in pre-season during there SB years. Let me throw this in...How about SS pre-seasons? He would run up scores so bad everyone thought we were going to walk to the SB, only to have those dreams shattered by mid-season. I just won't let myself get to high or to low on a pre-season game.

On Brunell, it won't surprise me at all to see him play well this year when given the opportunity. I'm a guy who backs who ever the coaches have on the field. I did support Brunell last year and call me crazy but I don't blame Brunell for the offense last year. First he's loses Jansen and the o-line struggled most of the year. Then he is victimized by drops from Gardner and why doesn't anyone see all the drops Coles had last year? Some bad play calling around the goal line, forget a big back give it to Portis!! Then you thrown in some bad passes, crazy booing from the fans and you can't help but to lose you confidence. I support PR and I hope every Skins fan at FedEx will, but my experience at FedEx tells me that the first bad pass or Int will bring out the boos. I see it as a good thing for the Skins to have a Vet backup playing with confidence.

Personally - I thought Darrell was Horrible as a sideline reporter....Ahhhhhhh ! Some people should just stick to what they do best.

He did okay until his hand got reinjured - but he didn't come out the next play - he hung in there. Did have a couple first downs....and had a couple of misses.

I'm partial to him also. Hope he hangs in there and steps up a notch or two.

DE you just contridicted yourself. You said we cannot get upset by their performance yet you think the coaches judged players based upon it. How can it be both? Either it matter or it doesn't?

I think most of us are disappointed because there is a huge difference between losing and looking like we cannot get the offense together. Yesterday looked like a completely horrible offense. We wanted to see some sort of connection or spark between Ramsey and at least one of the new receivers but it just wasn't there. Losing doesn't bother me. Looking like we need about 10 more preseason games to be ready does.

Im not trying to get too deep into what I saw yesterday but I cannot understand how a blind eye can be turned towards Ramseys lack of ability to complete a pass. The pocket was great, we were running the ball effectively, the WR's were getting open and he was missing wide open passes....

If Ramsey completed more than that 3 yard out that he throws to ey and no TD's then I wouldn't be worried. That cat couldn't complete anything but that 3 yard out.

Ramsey was 8-12 for 77 yards.

It's not an issue of him not being able to complete a pass. It's more of an issue of him becoming comfortable in the pocket.

When he did complete a pass, it was for short yardage.

Preseason or not, it was frustrating to watch Ramsey struggle like he did.

All he does is tippy-toe around. He never gets set when he throws.

Brunell does that exact same thing.

Of course it matters what the coaches think...and I support their decisions...I'm a Redskins fan first...I never really fall in love with a player, because as soon as I do they bolt. I love the system we have on D!! I loved to see it on the O as well. I just don't put alot of stock in pre-season games, for the most part I think coaches know who they want to start by the first pre-season game. What they have to decide is who are the rest of the players that will make up the 53 man roster

Ok I think I get it now. I suppose I was missing the fact that preseason is the time to weed out the bottom of the barrel.

I just expected something that made me think Patrick was a definite improvement over what we saw last year.

I did see one thing he did that I loved. HE MOVED FORWARD. During one play he saw he had no one to throw to and he tucked the ball (holding on to it the entire time) and moved forward. Sure it was only 1 or 2 yards but it wasn't backwards. HUGE improvement from past years.
