His philosophy is a mix of bpa and need IMO... Takes the best player that can help the team. If lb is need but there is an interior lineman that can help more then the lbs on the board, go with the player that best helps the team.
I dont think anyone has cracked his philosophy- maybe one of the 3 other guys allowed in his war room

I have. If you go back through this thread you'll find I called the trading back up for Sweat. He's more predictable than some would have us believe.

Couldn't agree more. But we drafted a RB which really isn't a need at all. Which is why the Redskins are where they are. Watch them take a DT next. Not even the Redskins would do that. Would they?

Well The Patriots get Stidham. Patriots get a QB they want. They don't dive in on all the hype of the others. Patriots know how to draft. Wonder why they didn't trade up to 15 and get him. Because they know what the hell is going on that's why.

OVERVIEW
Most of the Indiana staff simply calls Wesley Allen Martin "country strong," but one look at his dominance in the trenches and performances in the weight room makes scouts wonder if there might be a red cape and a large "S" on his shirt under his uniform. With 535-pound bench press and a 655-pound squat, perhaps the coaches should see if Martin might have a can of green paint in his locker room that he splashes on to bring a gridiron version of the "Hulk" to the playing field each Saturday.
There's very good reason that Martin has drawn such attention. In 2017, among the 298 major college offensive guards to start at least five games, only the Hoosier and Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson did not allow their quarterback to get sacked. Martin accomplished that feat while being on the field for 569 pass snaps. Nelson only appeared in 352 aerial plays. Martin was also the only offensive lineman to not allow a tackle-for-loss, nor any quarterback pressures, among the sixty-plus starters along the front walls for Big Ten Conference teams.

They also have the GOAT for him to sit behind... Where we needed a day 1 starter. Apples to oranges- But ya they draft good no doubt

Haskins is sitting behind Keenum as well. He isn't starting. That's a fact. Apples to Apples

I dont know. No one does.. There are no facts about it.
He will compete with Case for the #1 role no doubt. The O is getting bolstered and I see him getting the reigns sooner then later- absolutely!
Do I have a crystal ball to see who the week ome starter is? No, you took it!

Wait a minute you said we needed a day 1 starter as a predicate for your argument about Stidham and Haskins isn't starting. Just to let you know for sure he isn't.

There's a HUGE difference between sitting behind Brady and coming in with at least a chance to compete from day 1.
Sorry to myself for being drawn in again. I really won't bother again

Not really when you will not be starting and sitting behind a QB Brady or anyone else like Keenum for instance.
Great pickup at Guard though. Go Hogs!!
