Do we have all 3 of those picks?

I'm pretty sure our 2010 third rd pick will be Jeremy Jarmon from Kentucky!

Word on the street is JC can fetch a 2nd round pick if we tender him. There should be a starting lineman there. But I guess it really depends on who's picking the guys.

They couldn't get a second rounder for him last off season, but hey if they can get a 3rd for him this year that would be good and a second for him would be like stealing. You can get good OL in the 2nd and 3rd (if you have the right people picking them. The top flight centers typically aren't taken untill the 2nd or 3rd and a lot of good OGs and sometimes OTs can be had down there.

If Samuels retires then they will need a LT, RT, RG and depth at C and LG. They seriously could use every draft pick on OL after they have addressed QB (or maybe in LT then QB - but they have to get a QB).

We have two guys who can play center. The problem is we are playing them at Guard - Will Montgomery. I'm ok with addressing the Tackle and Guard position. Depending on how Colt is doing physically, we may not need to draft a QB b/c he could be groomed to take over even if JC get's tendered and stays her next year.

You need to give up on that Colt dream. He will never play another down for us (or anybody else, most likely). He's got two bad hips and will wind up getting an injury settlement.

I'm not a huge Colt guy. Not at all. I am a Jason Campbell supporter. I would love it if he could actually only have to focus on his footwork, touch he puts on the ball, etc. Instead of is his coach going to get fired, is he going to get traded, is he going to be in a new offense yet again.

Thats a lot for any player to think about. And a QB is going to think about all that b/c that's the most important position on the FB team.

What was he worried about before he was worried about his coach losing his job? :-k

Well just before the draft starts I would trade our GM for a bag of donuts .... that will give our new HC something to chew on as they rebuild our OL through the draft.

... though I suspect we would also have to throw in our 1sr rounder in order to clinch the trade.

we are not getting anything for our HC OR Cerrato - we might get lucky and find someone else who knows nothing about QBs to give us something for Campbell but I would not hold my breath

hopefully we get a new GM and he hires the new HC (without any help from you know who) otherwise it's just going to be a'wishing and a'hoping time for another year

Zorn was on the hot seat since he was fired.

skins2357 wrote:that would be a classic Snyderatto move. Neglecting your O Line to get a big time safety to sell jerseys. That would not suprise me all.....I bet they would fine some "solid" undrafted lineman to groom though

Wouldnt surprise me either. I can see it now....

"And with the fourth pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select, Taylor Mays. (Crowd makes no noise but has a questionable look upon their faces). Safety out of the University of Southern California."

((Not that Taylor Mays isnt a complete MONSTER on the field. But we need IMMEDIATE help in the trenches.))

Forget all this "we need" stuff. Take the best football player regardless of position EVERY TIME.

True story from America's Game:

In 1979 the Dallas Cowboys were on the clock. They had pretty much created the concepts of a draft board and the "best player available." The best player on their board was JOE MONTANA!!! Before they pulled the trigger they had a pow wow. They reasoned thusly: We have Roger Staubach and Danny White. We don't need a QB. We need to replace Rayfield Wright. Let's draft Doug Cosbie.

OOOPS!!!!

Draft the best player. Get a GM who can recognize him.

So now it's got so bad that we're forced to learn lessons from the Cowboys?! I think I want to die.

I'll agree with the old adage about drafting the best player available but you also need to add a few words to that - that fits your team - there is no point drafting the best player available that will not make your team better

Ok so I want to see Colt get his shot if we decide to part ways with JC.

But, if we do decide to draft a QB. I am thinking we will have a high draft spot. I like Tebow but he is not the answer for the Redskins. Bradford is good but I dont think he is the answer either. Mccoy is also a stud but Ill pass.

My pick for Qb if we draft would be Jimmy Clausen. Clausen has taken a mediocre Notre Dame team on his shoulders. Now Notre Dame has some respect again. Clausen also has the size the arm and character to be a winner.

Let me say this again. I want Colt Brennan to get his shot. But, if we draft a QB it better be Clausen. Hopefully Cerrato is gone and we have a good coach and GM in place.

If we happen to hire Holmgren, Shannahan or even Gruden. I know they would take Clausen. They know good qbs.

This is what I hope at least. There are no guarantees he declares early. The popular trend is to go when your stock is hot though. He would most likely be amongst the top three if not top overall rated prospect if he declares early.

He might do what Mark Sanchez did and go early he may not? I think he may just declare early. Also he may want to avoid the situation Sam Bradford is currently in. Sam Bradford could have went in the top five but now may be a middle of the first round. It would be wise for him to declare early in my opinion in a financial sense that is.

Sure he could stay one more year. That would be risky though. It always is. Why not go when the going is good? Just saying. I have a feeling he will declare. Just with the way things are going that is my opinion.
