I can't believe this. I finally got up the will to talk about yesterday's game and I find this thread at the top of Hogwash. I immediately began praying for Sean and his family. So sad.

I've been trying to keep updated all day on this while at work. This is one of the most horrible things I, and I'm sure most of you all, have experienced as a Redskins fan.

I'm sure everything in this post has been said but this puts football and life in perspective.

I'll be praying for Sean as long as it takes for him to make a full recovery. Football is not important at this point. His life is.

Some comments from Gibbs at the presser (going on right now):

I know very little information medically, other than that it's very serious.

We met at 12 with the team, and basically I described what we knew about and that the chaplain was here to talk to the team. Chaplain (Brett) talked to the team and then led a team prayer.

We're obviously in shock. I know I can't put it in words. All our fans out there are praying. We're praying for Sean and his family.

If I tried to say anything further, I don't think I'd do a very good job right now.

... How do you prepare?
I don't know. I've never been through anything like this.

We'll just have to get back on Wednesday and see how it all is.

We see how fragile life is.

For me personally to see how Sean had grown here. I knew how much his baby meant to him. He would come to the complex with her, carrying that baby.

I haven't gone through anything like this before.

Who went with Snyder?
Chris will give a list.

Why wasn't he with the team?

Medical team tells us what's best for the player. if players are getting treatment, they always stay here.

A week ago... Sean stayed here... he got treatment on Saturday... when I got back on Monday, he called me at the office... said somebody broke into my house yesterday... he wasn't going to be able to make the meeting. He came in... got treatment... I thought everything was fine.

You can't go back. You gotta go forward.

I'm living it an hour at a time.

Unfortunately. I was hoping to hear something positive, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer.

No news is good news. The only news we could possibly hear this soon would be bad. I think we would all rather hear good news later than bad news now. My 2 cents

accidentally moved this to Smack, my apologies

I was never really a fan of Wilbon, after having read his jackass opinion on the ST tragedy I won't even bother to post the link to his column. This guy is a world class horses' hind part. I will never forgive him for his dimwitted opinion. We are all free to say and express our feelings in an editorial column. As such I exercise my freedom to never read another word from this moron. The Q&A is on the Washington post site for those who care to read it.

Get Well Sean T. May the Lord bless you with a full recovery and may he give your family strength & courage in your time of need.

Sean Taylor "Clinging To Life"

Richard Sparpstein, who has represented Sean Taylor in legal matters in the past and is a friend of the family, said moments ago that the player's life is hanging in the balance in the hospital. Sharpstein, speaking from the hospital, said Taylor is "nonresponsive and unconscious" and the doctors are "worried about a possible brain injury or death."

Sharpstein, who has been with Taylor's family at the hospital much of the day, said that there are major worries that Taylor may have lost oxygen to the brain, and that no other procedures are planned for right now. "They're waiting to see if he comes to," Sharpstein said. He was shot in the groin/thigh area near the femoral artery and lost copious amounts of blood. The intruders then retreated and Sean was airlifted to the trauma center and endured several hours of surgery, Sharpstein said.

Taylor is in intensive care, Sharpstein said, and his girlfriend and child were not injured in the attack. Sharpstein said Taylor was sleeping when he heard a noise in the living room. The intruder or intruders were at his bedroom and Taylor reached for a machete or other form of knife he keeps nearby in case of emergency, and two shots were fired, with one striking his leg.

"Right now he's clinging to life and we're all praying he makes it," Sharpstein said.

Sharpstein said there have been numerous break ins, or break in attempts, on Taylor's house in recent weeks.

I have been following this all day. I am tired of people worrying about themselves or the season or if he is going to play again. PEOPLE, THE MAN IS IN A COMA. We all need to say some extra prayers for ST and his family. I really hope the media does not insult te situation and turn this into a soap opera about his past. The man was defending his family like I would hope everyone would do! Football is one thing but this is way beyond it. Hang in there Sean, my prayers are with you

Sean Taylor is certainly a fan favorite.

If nothing else, he is my favorite. I can't believe I went all day without hearing about this, and now that I have...I really just want to cry.

This is really bad. The femoral artery is a major one, and a large amount of blood loss can adversly affect the amount of oxygen to the brain. When the brain either stops getting oxygen, or gets less than it needs in begins to die, and can lead to severe brain damage and death.

Hearing that Sean is non-responsive is not a good sign, but it doesn't mean we should give up hope that he can pull through this.

The doctors never want to build up false hope, and can sometimes leave you to believe that htere is NO hope.

As long as there's a heartbeat...there's hope.

I'm praying for him, and especially his family who are not going to get any sleep for the next few days.

It sounds really bad. I hope they catch the animals who did it. To potentially take away someone's life and health for "stuff?" It boggles the mind.

I don't know about you guys but I'm totally disinterested in any other redskins news. I simply don't care if they play another game this season, I just want Sean to pull through this.

Someone else said this but I like it, I'm pulling for Sean Taylor the man, whether he plays another down of football doesn't matter to me.
