I did not have in mind something as...
... "uplifting" ..., as that. But whatever works for everybody is fine with me.

It means he had a bail hearing.

He’s out on bail so there is still some investigation going on, and if the only eyewitness to the gun charges turns out to be the same person who stole the ATV then you might have credibility issues.
The story goes Taylor pulled the gun but left and then returned 10-min. later and punched they guy in the face.
Is someone lying here or did Sean realize the position he was in and got rid of the gun before the assault took place. It sounds like used a gun to scare this guy but it doesn't sound like it was used the gun to actually beat him up. His buddy tried to/used a baseball bat on someone.
Who knows, Sean might have a permit for the gun? Pops had to have taught him something.
With all of the plea bargains in the FL. Courts this will be pleaded down to something non-gun-related with probation and community service in the off-season. Again the biggest penalty he will face will come from Joe Gibbs for embarrassing the team.
To Sean I have but one word for you.....
Again I can only hope that he learns from this. Weather he “beats this” or not, he has to realize that he can’t be putting himself in situations like this.

I'm only going to make this one post on this topic. I posted back when Taylor "got off" the DUI charge that it was the single worst thing that could have happened to him. A sense of entitlement occurs in celebrities when they realize there usually isn't a consequence for their actions.
This time there will be. Even if he's legally acquitted, the NFL will probably slap four games on him at a minimum.
The most likely scenario is that he pleads out, does a Lewis-like off season sentence and moves on. The mandatory sentencing in FL makes taking something like this to trial too risky.

If he is suspended, who do you guys thnik our safeties will be? Bowen and Clark?

I'm guessing Bowen would move back to FS (where he played in 2003, but not his natural position) and Clark would be the SS
I'm trying not to think that way tho. I'm still hoping Taylor will be the starting FS on opening day. He hasn't been convicted of anything yet guys.

I think it's safe to say that Sean Taylor won't be the starting safety at Washington on September 11, 2005. Personally, I think he should sit on the bench (either the one at the stadium or the one in his cell) for the season.
Everybody seems to flower it up and say that Taylor "...is troubled and needs help" or something like "....he's young and he's going to make mistakes" or even better yet...."he's only 22 years old". No matter how you slice it, or sugar coat it, Sean Taylor is a punk!! P-U-N-K. He's a young thug who will get whatever he has coming to him. As far as I'm concerned, there's no more excuses. No more "he's just 22 years old and he'll make mistakes" crap. The chicken is coming home to roost for Sean Taylor. Joe Gibbs' priority now is to make sure it doesn't affect the team. Sean Taylor is not only a thug, who may or may not have commited a crime, but he has also become a detriment to the team. He's once again put himself before the team and will expect the team to say "Oh, it's o.k. you're only 22 years old". NO MORE!! His selfish attitude is not something we want in the locker room. Clinton Portis and the rest of Taylors teammates will more than likely begin to distance themselves from Sean Taylor, and rightfully so. Sean Taylor has become a thorn in the side of The Redskins. Superstar or not, he's a punk and will have to face the judicial process again.
To all you Sean Taylor fans who say "he's young and will make mistakes" or the ubiquitous "he's only 22 years old" crap need to be reminded one thing. Joe Gibbs' ONLY requirement is "Don't embarrass yourself or the Redskins". With regards to the incident in Florida, Sean Taylor is innocent until proven guilty. With regards to Joe Gibbs' credo of "Don't embarrass yourself or the Redskins", Sean Taylor is guilty. He should be punished accordingly.
I think Joe Gibbs should tell Sean Taylor to work out his legal problems and then give him a call when he gets out of jail (if he goes to jail) and we'll see if we have a spot for him on the team. Hopefully, we'll have a third string spot for him or on the practice squad. But, he shouldn't be starting or playing for the Redskins next year, and just as importantly, he shouldn't be starting for any other team. Thank God we own his rights!!

I just wanted to say that at first when this came out about Sean Taylor I was like man "why would he do something like this", man "we should get rid of him", However I think I'm starting to change my tune here.. If you read all these reports about Sean Taylor, everyone one of them have changed and someone of them don't make sence. Like Sean Taylor would pull out a gun on somone and leave that scene and come back 10 minutes later and punch someone there. This story here is not adding up and I really don't believe it, until the police acutally comeout and say this is what happened.. We haven't even heard what Sean Taylor had to say...Yeah Sean Taylor is guilty for putting himself into this mess, but anything else other then that he is innocent, until proven guilty

Even if he isnt convicted, the nfl will suspend him. Also, if the nfl doesnt suspend him, look for Gibbs to take action, he will not play on opening day

Again I will say this, the person accusing Sean of all this crap is a theif. If you believe that aspect of the story. The person supposedly stole his ATV's. So what is to stop this person from saying Sean did both of these things when Sean just want to get them back?? I guarentee you that down the road there will be a civil law suit from the individual making these accusations, and honestly at this point that's all they are. Last post I make on the subject. I'm not one for beating a dead horse. And until there are real facts or admissions it's really nothing more.

Whether he did anything legally wrong or not, he has embarrased the Redskins and himself. That, in itself, is a violation of team rules. I don't give a rats ass about what happened in Florida, and who did what and what kind of laws were broken, Sean Taylor has put himself in a position that has embarrassed the Redskins and himself.
The legal system will take over, and Sean Taylor will face the charges and be found guilty or not. But, he has violated Joe Gibbs' only rule and he should be punished accordingly.

JP you and I are buddies so I'm not going to go off like I would typically but think about this logically. Isn't it entirely possible that Sean realized his ATV's had been stolen so he went to the neighbors house to see if they were really his. The neighbor who obviously is a theif because he has in his possession 2 ATV's that belong to Taylor, sees that he has stolen from Sean Taylor, millionaire NFL football player and quickly comes up with this story. If there were no bullets fired during this altercation, the evidence used to obtain a warrant could be as little as this guy and his buddy saying it happened. This is a country where money drives people to do dumb things. And it is entirely possible that this has absolutely nothing to do with Sean Taylor breaking any law or embarassing anyone.

If these accusations turn out to be false, how can gibbs suspend him for "embarrasing the team". A player cannot be held responsible for somebody targeting them and trying to get a few bucks from their pockets. If he is found guilty he should be punished, if he is found innocent he should play.
Under your rules JP, we should have suspended Gus Ferrote, Mark Brunell, Michael Westbrooke, and even Steve Spurrier for "embarrasing the redskins".

Yes. It needs repeating.

And, for other New Yorkers, recall that Darryl Strawberry was "just a little immature", and "full of potential", and "just needing some slack" until he was about 30 years old.

This would have all been avoided if he'd just been up here, working out with his teammates.

Niki,
Yes, it absolutely is entirely possible that that was the case. The legal system will determine whether that is the case or not. Whatever the legal system in Florida determines will be what I believe. However, just as you say "isn't it entirely possible" so must I say something equally as hypothetical, to wit: Isn't it entirely possible that if Sean Taylor was in his hotel room, living room, den, office, or wherever he lives at in Virginia, Maryland, or D.C. studying the playbook that any incident involving the theft of his ATV in Florida wouldn't have happened? In fact, forget about the studying of the playbook, isn't it entirely possible that if Sean Taylor was not in the state of Florida that the ATV incident wouldn't even have happened? My point is this: If Sean Taylor was a "team player" this incident wouldn't have happened. I see what you're saying about people see a big NFL Superstar and all of a sudden they see dollar signs light up, but, that can be said about ANY member of the Redskins and in fact, any other team period. Has that happened? Why would someone pick on Sean Taylor and no one else? If I were to disregard all his other childish and asinine transgressions, your position would be more palpable and in fact, more likely. But, when taken in conjunction with all the other crap that Sean Taylor has been party to, I just don't buy the "maybe someone is using Taylors status to get money" arguement. As I said in a previous post, if it looks like a dog, smells like a dog, acts like a dog, barks like a dog, it probably IS a dog.
Simply put, if Sean Taylor was in Virginia, the chances of this happening are greatly reduced. Not eliminated, but certainly not as high as they are with him being in Florida. Most NFL players are tutored on how to avoid the public spotlight that Sean Taylor is experiencing. It seems like the majority of players in the NFL have learned how to conduct themselves outside of the NFL realm. Sean Taylor has not. As result, he has embarrassed the Redskins. In fact, I hate to say it, but I myself am embarrassed over it. The rest of the league and their respective fans may very well start to view the Redskins as we viewed the Cowboys of the 90's. To me, that's embarrassing, and Joe Gibbs has a rule that says DON'T embarrass the Redskins.
Do you REALLY think this whole incident is some grandiose plot to frame Sean Taylor? That is akin to saying O.J. Simpson didn't do it. It's akin to saying Scott Peterson didn't do it. It simply doesn't add up. Whatever happened, Sean Taylor was a part of it, and THAT'S what's embarrassing. Whether or not laws were broken remains to be determined. The embarrassment has already been determined.

TWO things.
1- They are not my rules. They're Coach Gibbs' rules.
2- As for Ferrote, Brunell, and Westbrook:
- Ferrote and Westbrook did not play for Gibbs.
- The only person(s) that Steve Spurrier embarrassed is himself. He never played for Joe Gibbs.
- Mark Brunell, as a person, has never embarrased the Redskins. Perhaps his play on the field was embarrasingly unsatisfactory, but how he conducts his personal life is exemplary. He is the consumate professional and a worthy role model. To compare him in any way at all to Sean Taylors actions is ludicrous. Give me ONE example, off the field, where Mark Brunell has embarrased the Redskins while Joe Gibbs was the head coach? I eagerly await your response to that request. All I ask is that you refrain from using his poor performance on the field as his "embarrasing" act. We're talking about OFF THE FIELD!! Well, let's hear it?

Months ago, a man from DC was arrested from trying to impersonate a football player, i cant remember which one, and was calling darrell green, warren sapp, etc and trying to get them to send money orders to him. Did warren sapp and darrell green go kick the crap out of the man. No, the police were called. THE WHOLE POINT IS!!! IF SOMEONE ILLEGIALLY DOES SOMETHING TO YOU, (HITS, STEALS, CHEATS, ETC.) CALL THE COPS AND LET THE PROFESSIONALS HANDLE IT. Taking the judicial system in your own hands leads to ANARCHY!

Sean Taylor is turning into a distraction to this team. Its only a matter of time before something else happens. I dont know how to feel about Taylor and his previous actions do not make me want to believe in him.
He's a problem to this team, our very own Randy Moss. I dont even think Randy had this many episodes in such a short time span.

And this bag of douche has done it multiple times within 12 months AND has the nerve to ask for MORE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
