Agree completely. The way he handled himself during the game, and his interview afterward, should cause the league to sit him for a game or two. That helmet to helmet was INTENTIONAL. No way around it. Suspend him for a game or two. Integrity requires it.

I noticed that too at the time. Great play by Jones.

I taped both games and went back and forth - I could not believe what he was getting away with
Rivera and the DC obviously tried to tone their guy down but ODB was uncontrollable and needs to be suspended for what he did
I am V proud of how the Redskins handled today - the giants should be embarrassed - they were horrible

I expect the punch alone to draw both a suspension and a fine.

^^the spear head attack to the head of a defenseless defender ought to end his season... That could have been a SERIOUS injury

With all the concussion stuff the NFL is facing, the NFL has no choice in this. OldBlowJob should be done for the season, but with Mara, you never know. Deion is trying to do damage control, but there's no playing that down.

GUESS WHAT - Mara has some influence with the NFL - are you effing kidding me ....

Because of that play and others, the league is reportedly considering a 1-game suspension for Beckham, according to ESPN's Adam Scheffer. However, there is reason to caution against expecting Beckham to actually sit New York's next game (Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings). First of all, the league has a long history of issuing suspensions to look as though it is rectifying an issue (i.e. Beckham probably should have been ejected, but wasn't), all the while knowing that the suspension is likely to be reduced to a heavy fine on appeal. This is especially true in the case of players like Beckham -- who had no previous history of hits to the head before Sunday.
It's even true of players with a long history of dirty play, particularly when the ensuing game has potential season-ending implications -- like Ndamukong Suh, who had his 1-game suspension for stepping on Aaron Rodgers overturned and reduced to a $70,000 fine last season and was thus able to play in the Lions' opening-round playoff game.
Another factor to consider is the relationship between New York Giants owner John Mara and the commissioner's office. Mara was previously able to get the NFL to dock the Cowboys and Washington a combined $46 million in cap space when they frontloaded contracts in the uncapped year back in 2010, arguing that the teams' actions were against the spirit of the CBA -- which did not even really exist at the time.
Basically: Mara wields a lot of influence. He is one of the league's most respected owners, and his team is fighting for a playoff spot in the NFC East. If you consider the history of Goodell's relationship with owners affecting decisions -- SpyGate, anyone? -- it is not all that difficult to envision the same thing happening here.

In pregame warmups, at least one Panthers official, and possibly more, carried black baseball bats on to the field and were motioning with them towards Odell Beckham Jr. while making comments to him, per a league source. Norman later grabbed the black bat and was swinging it in pregame warmups – which, by the way, an NFL Films camera captured. Beckham, according to another source, felt threatened and it helped put him in a certain frame of mind. It does not excuse what he did during the course of the game, but it does explain what led up to the battle that still is the talk of the league today.
