what a great post and aren't we lucky to have guys like this at THN
this is a great look at both this AH situation and the over analyzing ("hype the story") by the media - I think this is especially true in this town

Than fans are just as bad as the WP, they take whatever they say and run with it as fact. Look at the passion behind these posts, the stuff isn't even true! LOL That's what I find maddening about it, how can you be passionate about something about that isn't even true.... LOLOLOL It's crazy.

I disagree. Its not my job to fact check the Washington Post or any other media outlet. Its THEIR job. I don't have the resources or connections they (allegedly) do and have to make the reasonable assumption that what they are saying has been researched to a certain level. These people you have so much disdain for are being passionate about something they believe to be true. Its not like THEY are the ones making all this up. This is truly a time to "Kill the Messenger".
BUT, that said, this is the reason I generally come here to get my Redskins news. It's usually been filtered by this group and I feel I'm getting a better picture of what's going on down there. Unfortunately, yesterday I was streaming the local station and got caught up in an apparent knee jerk rumor and reported it to the board. I'll be certain to not make THAT mistake again.

And why would this be unfortunate

I'm guessing that you're a Redskins fan based on your username

You heard a rumor early Friday and posted what you heard on a message board.

ChrisHanburger wrote: I'll be certain to not make THAT mistake again.

Now we are talking about a Unfortunate mistake
I must have missed something...You heard a rumor about AH... You posted the rumor on a Redskins message board that you've been a member of for more than five years... You posted it in a thread that was discussing AH, you could have started a new thread if if you wanted to.... Your post generated discussion and debate and extended the thread another page and a half...
That's where I'm at on this. Can you help be out and point out where this unfortunate mistake took place.

Dude, I get being fooled the first time, maybe the second. But for the past month, Jason Reid and WP has been wrong OVER AND OVER AND OVER about the Albert saga. At what point do people take responsibility for their own actions and think for a second and fathom that their sources are BULLLLL.
Let's not even mention the Byron Westbrook fiasco. LOL WP reports he is cut, yet he makes the 53 man roster.
Albert is inactive, now he's playing.
Albert is getting traded.
etc, etc, etc.

Yeah, I get it Chris. The whole speculation thing does get tiresome. You're much more active on this board so I understand your frustration. And these "reporters" (and I use that term loosely) aren't doing their job and are fomenting the problem. I was just grumpy this morning and took your post too personal.
I can't wait until tomorrow night so we can talk about what actually happened. Not what might.
Hail!

well - I'm not too sure what to make of this guy - he did get on the field but he sure didn't look like he was very enthused about being a part of our defense, on the sideline and his play on the field was just "OK" in my opinion
I only hope these guys (Haslett & Shanahan) can get this guy to make an effort when he's on the field because he could make what looked like (last night, at least) a pretty good defense, really good IF he'd just try to be a part of things and not act so stupid
He's just acting like a big fat slob and only going through the motions right now

I don't know guys, I saw him playing pretty hard at times. His first play he chased the ball carrier to the sideline. I think things will work out. Even with the media making a big deal out of it.

I actually thought that he played hard last night, especially on that play where he chased down Barber. He isn't a NT though. I have no idea why they continue to try to play him at that position. His strength is getting into the backfield and getting after the qb, and they have him taking up blockers.

I'm up and down on the situation.
If he goes... Oh well.
If he stays... Oh well...
If he's here we need him to perform, and last night it looked like he wasn't the same phenom we payed big bucks for.

I just expect him to make a bit more of an effort ALL the time - he's being paid what he wanted - we are not getting very much effort on or off the field
there were a couple of times when we were in a 4-3 with the fat slob as one of the DTs - at least he could try and be better is all
I did see him run a couple of times but I want to see a whole lot more
AND this guy is obviously pouting on the sideline

that's hilarious but it's also hurting our defense
I'm sorry Canes - he got what he wanted and he's not making an effort to "earn it" is all I'm asking - if he wants to get traded then show the other teams you can play and make yourself look good so we can trade your fat ass
he seems to think these guys will let him go if he continues this - I hope they don't - he will suffer the consequences as will we as a franchise

I thought he was dominated, mostly by one blocker.
I actually watched the entire game over again last night and watched each of his plays specifically.
Whenever Haynesworth was on the field, the Cowboys moved the ball with good effectiveness. He didn't do anything special, which is why we are paying him. He did throw a hissy fit about being taken out of the game though.

I don't know about you, but I try to the best of my abilities to make sure I'm not reacting to half truths or nonsense before I put myself out there. It may not be your job, but you still have to sift thru the BS to find the truth; that's true in all facets of life. If not, then you'll be crying wolf a lot taking blogs as gospel.

this is a web site for fans - we come here to have fun
this is the age of YouTube and the internet where a lot of BS is 'available'
if you don't like what you think is untrue just leave it and let it go - most of the stuff that is reported is BS - that does not mean we can't hash it out if we so choose
have fun, be happy
we just beat the stupid pukes who are most likely going to win the division - ENJOY

People are making it sound like the whole discussion was based on misinformation. But most of it was based on the accuracy of lard butt's lame offseason and camp. It's just the trade/inactive part at the end that was baseless, most of the discussion was completely valid.

I completely disagree, Kazoo. There has been nothing but jumping to conclusions before any REAL proof has been shown the whole time.

So Haynesworth might have done the voluntary and mandatory OTA's? He might have been in great shape and not really had the condition out of shape athletes who turn it on in the heat get? The feud with Shanahan may never have existed? He may not have cashed the $21 million check and is just here to hang with the guys? He may have actually worked his butt off in the last pre-season game and actually thanked Shanahan for the opportunity for the extra work? It all might just be made up hype? We really don't know? Wow, you can't believe anything anymore...

First, it wasn't a blog. It was on the radio and they were reacting to what

LOL, I don't even try to discuss it in depth anymore. People won't get it. I've seen posts from last night saying that Al dogged it out, then you get Mike saying Albert played intensely yesterday.

And last night after the game ended one of the first things the put out on the radio was that AH was complaining on the sidelines and refused to take part in the defense's team meeting by standing alone at the end of the bench. However they failed to mention he was complaining because he didn't want to come out of the game, and they failed to mention that the other D-linemen weren't too far away from AH because the meeting was for DBs and LBs.
It's the press putting their own spin on things instead of actually reporting what's going on. They have their own agenda, and nothing is going to change that.
