I bet London Fletcher says the exact same thing to his face that he said to the camera. And I bet the players will ride his ass if he isn't going all out when he comes back.

Don't you mean IF he comes back?

It's "when" not "if". Even Big Al isn't dumb enough to skip TC and put his $21 million at risk.

EXACTAMUNDO - he will be at TC and hopefully in great shape

I do not think the Redskins will keep Haynesworth but I think his value is increased if he shows up in great shape and some team decides he can help them - of course if he shows up in the same shape as last TC then he's not much value to anyone AND he's certainly not going to make it through TC here

I would add that he may even consider buying his way out of here in order to not face the other defensive players

Coach Shanahan made it clear that the ball is in Albert's court. If he shows up for TC with a duffle bag full of 21M dollars, I expect the coaches will say "thanks Albert" the door is that way.

If he comes to TC with a duffle bag full of extra pounds, then I expect them to work his a$$ as hard as possible.

as I've said before - I had heard (from a friend that is close to associates of Snyder) that Haynesworth had gone back to a routine and people from a few years ago that had helped get him into decent shape before and that he was looking forward to a season in better shape than he was in last year

Because of what has transpired here recently, I so hope that is not the case now and that we get him into TC for some 'fun' workouts in July in the sun of Northern VA OR he decides not to come to TC by returning part of the signing bonus and basically buying his way out :D

I'm of the opinion that we can't get that bonus back no matter what. But in my view, Haynesworth thinks he one of the all time greats. If he doesn't give some of that money back, his only option for the next 6 years is to play for the washington redskins. We can't get the money back, but he can't play football anywhere else either. Checkmate! His ego is too damn big to retire from football...

Rick Maese reporting on his Twitter page that Big Al released the following statement today:

Despite my current differences with the Redskins, I have always planned to attend training camp and honor my contract. I am continuing to prepare for the season individually and will report on time, in shape and ready to play football. Any issues I have with the club I will discuss privately and therefore do not plan to make any further public comments.

What part of honoring his contract does demanding a trade fall under. Any issues he has with the team was discuss privately by the front office, it's AH and his agent that's been making the derogatory public comments.

I think it's great he'll show up in shape and ready to go.

At his size he has all the necessary requirements to be the best blocking dummy in the league.

I don't know about blocking, but you are at least 1/2 right.

He is already one of the biggest dummies in the NFL

but I would never tell him that

Someone just go ahead and slip some "stuff" on AH's Kool aid, so we can get the money back

It would appear from comments made by Haynesworth recently that he is planning on showing up for camp

it also looks like after the initial surprise of Haynesworth taking the bonus and then not showing up, Allen and Shanahan have not blinked OR over reacted and will now let this play out a little further - good for them

Haynesworth now needs to show up ready to play which keeps the team in the driver's seat - I still would be surprised if he plays in B&G this year but a fit Haynesworth is worth a lot more than the disapointment that was evident from his play last season - that is, when he was on the field and not sucking/gasping on the sideline

I actually think there's no way he's not our starting End this year. Reason being, he's not going to return the 21M because 1) no teams was willing to pay him that bonus prior to April 1 and he found that out when seeking a trade, 2) teams aren't signing free agents to large extensions as often given the labor uncertainty and 3) we will not trade him for nothing especially if there is no return of the bonus.

That leaves us with Albert on this team. It may suck, but I don't see how we can pull off a coup unless Al Davis decides he's GM of the Year again.

I think there is a way. He shows up out of shape & his bad attitude continues. He can't get along with teamates or coaches.

Am new here, and have been a Redskin fan for 50 years. Can remember living and dying with each victory by the George Allen led Redskins. When they lost the Superbowl with him, I just go sick!! Am 64 years old, and still follow the Redskins. When the Redskins and Cowboys play, it is something that I schedule my weekend around.

About the big nost tackle:
Not sure if the Redskins know what they want to do with him.
He can certainly disrupt offensive line play, and is the focal point of many scouting reports, BUT at what cost? both in salary and in the locker room.

They have enough problems trying to right the ship, and can't afford to have a high profile player like that creating negative karma in the locker room, or be the distraction to management that he is creating.

Welcome to the site Lionsden. I do think the skins now must have a plan in place to deal with this situation. I don't think anything will happen until the first few weeks of training camp for one. Then they'll trade him for nothing. I don't think he'll be on the field again for the skins. Shanny will make sure of that.

Allen and Shanny are waiting for training camp injuries. Someone will get hurt in training camp and the team will be desperate for a player. They'll move haynesworth for what they can get, jason taylor style.

I live in Colorado, so I'm used to seeing a lot of Shanahan. Enjoy his crazy eye guys. Whenever I see him on TV, it creeps me out.
