I don't think Campbell is going to take "the next step" but he's our starter for now and it would be great if he suddenly makes the improvements needed to become our next very good QB

Campbell would do well in the.....CFL? All kidding aside, Zman sees something in Colt...........I have this suspicion that we wants him to start.

I think if he wanted Colt, we would have seen Colt, especially in the last two games, after we were eliminated. But maybe he was just trying to keep locker room peace and stay consistent with his rookie playing time policy. Or maybe he feels pressure from The Danny to keep Campbell in there. Most likely though, he thinks Campbell gives us our best chance to win right now, and he wanted to have the best record possible for his rookie head coaching year, so The Danny wouldn't do a Marty on him. Whatever the case, I hope that we see an open competition next season.

With a name of Nebraska...I would think not. But I've been wrong before.

i think it was something like: he was drunk, went to the room of a girl he knew/liked(?). she told him to leave, and he was too drunk to leave(peacefully). <-something to that sense i believe the story was.

semi-back on topic: I think the Danny/Vinny wanted to have Zorn play JC til he showed some value(which he did early on), but for some reason or other JC went back to his old habits, and 2nd half of season went downhill. by playing JC for the whole season, if JC doesnt show considerable improvement in 2nd year in this system, Zorn has a LEGIT reason not to play him if he so chooses ;) you go w/the guy who gives you the "best chance"(and also we didnt know about Colt's injury til after season was done>might be another reason we didnt see Colt in last 2 games).
I DO need to ask tho, shouldnt he have at least sit JC for a game like Phili did for McNabb? look at the E-grozz right now! theyre in the semi-finals!! argh~~(what if that were JC & the Skins?)

PS: Colt to Presidential Inauguration

This injury...

Redskins QB to have surgery
by Chris Steuber of ScoutNFLNetwork.com, December 28, 2008 at 9:05pm ET

Colt Brennan Profile

Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Colt Brennan suffered a slight tear to the meniscus in his left knee and will undergo surgery. A sixth round pick in the 2008 draft, Brennan first experienced discomfort in his knee about two months ago in practice, and an MRI revealed the extent of the injury.

“It isn’t really painful, it’s just a nagging pain,” Brennan said. “I’ve been practicing with it and was moving around fine, but after speaking with doctors, they said it would be a quick fix; it’s just a slight tear.”

The expected recovery time for Brennan is three weeks.

Prior to the draft, Brennan had surgery to repair a small tear to the labrum in his hip. The injury occurred at the Senior Bowl during practice. Brennan didn’t miss a practice and participated in the game, but it wasn’t until he left Mobile that the severity of the discomfort in his hip was discovered.
A month later, Brennan was at the Scouting Combine participating in throwing drills.

If he was practicing and moving around on it fine (as he stated), then it's not much of an injury.

It doesn't matter who is at QB at this point. Any QB we have will be ruined by this franchises lack of stability. Sadly... I think Jason is a talent but he's screwed here... Will COlt suffer too?

:hmm: Why is it that you can accurately use that logic here but not in other threads?

You're are 100% right on with that post. Stability and continuity are paramount for any longevity of success. I absolutely agree with you.

The three paramount areas of stability and continuity are at coaching, system and QB, in that order. The endless change-over in those specific areas is not a recipe for success. That's why I'm firmly against the endless knee-jerk reactions around here of firing Zorn and benching Campbell... at this point in time.

It took Matt Hasselbeck several years of struggling under Holmgren and Zorn before he finally reached a high level of success. That's a fact. Holmgren and Zorn knew he had the mental and physical traits and wisely stayed patient. After a couple of seasons, Matt finally "got it" and took his team to the Super Bowl and has earned 3 Pro Bowl nods. They could have easily given up on Matt early on, but they stayed patient and it payed off. That's the reward of stability and continuity and is badly needed in DC.

Colt strikes me the type that can move and make things happen. JC just doesn't strike me as the type to roam in the pocket and make things happen. He can throw from the pocket or roll out or he can tuck and run, but he rarely moves in the pocket (short of a shoulder tuck to dogde pressure) to make more time until very recently and I'm not sold on that being a natural ability for him there.
