Congratulations are in order to Jason. His patience on the sidelines, and his class throughout the whole ordeal will definitely be rewarded.

All hail the franchise: Jason Campbell!!!

What I see is us having another element brought to our offense. I can see Jason scrambling for a 15 yard gain a few times Sunday.

Please God let Campbell be our future. Just imagine having the same starting QB for 10 years. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Hopefully, it's all a moot point - JC will the next Peyton, and Mark and Todd can worry about who gets to be our team's Jim Sorgi!!!

i can't recall if i saw it here or on ES

Okay Redskins fans, I want to make one request.

Give Jason Campbell some time to grow before you start booing the kid. If any of you knuckleheads boo him during the next home game, I'm gonna find out who you are - and call the Gambinos!

Seriously,

I expect there will be some growing pains for Jason. As I've been saying for weeks now, I would much rather lose games with Jason learning the position than losing them with Brunell at the helm.

I am one happy camper today!

I see better pass protection for JC, as he is a righty, and the tackles will now be playing their more natural positions.

There will be a few new faces on offense vs. Tampa (JC, Duckett, Betts). Let's pray it's enough to salvage the season!!!!

Man, you can tell Gibbs really liked Mark Brunell....he sounds really down announcing his benching.

Let's not get to excited and expect too much of this kid. He is finally getting his shot and we should be prepared if he has a rough first game and realize that he has to grow.

Joe Gibbs had no other option at this point and it was his own fault by sticking with Brunell too long. He could have saved himself the headache by going to Collins earlier in the season and if we are where we are now with Collins, make the move to Campbell.

Here's my fear: no patience and tolerance for Campbell and he may be on a short leash. Let's not expect this guy to be Palmer, Brees, or Manning (P) right off the bat and realize that this is his first start.

Also, he has to be smart about what he is doing in this offense and not make the stupid mistakes and use his legs.

Ugh, I really don't think Brunell is the problem.

And I highly doubt we will win this week against Tampa.

He's not the only problem, but lets face it...he's 36....he can't play forever. It's just time.

On a related Snyder-bashing note: How much you wanna make a bet that even this news will make our 3-6 franchise more profitable??? Campbell jerseys will be flying off the shelves!!!!!

Thankfully I still have my ol' #17 jersey (DW).

Ill give JC the benefit of the doubt, no doubt about that.

He is going to make mistakes, i just hope he learns from them as the season goes. All we need is a little improvement from him each game...next season he can come in and start 0-0.

How long will you give him before you start booing and calling for Gibbs head because he drafted him??

I think that we have just as much opportunity to win as we would with Brunell. Now I do see a few more mistakes but I see us having as much chance with Jason.

No doubt some folks will, but I'll be behind the kid...he's essentially a rookie and will make some mistakes...all young QB's do...i just hope the team rallies around this guy and we improve overall.
