some quick thoughts as my father drives down 295.
- betts looks unimpressive but he has been injured so there may be a bit of rust.
- mike sellers. I'd almost rather have sellers at rb. did you see that man? he is a monster. screw betts I'm rooting for sellers.
- it was great seeing ARE produce. he and lloyd have already shown why the were acquired.
- mike espy looked like trash.
- it was good to see artchuleta make his prescence known, he has been hiding thus faf.
- sean taylor pissed me off when he got shook and burnt by a second string qb. I hate qbs and bollinger needed to be taught a lesson.
- is there a lack of conditioning with our players? there injuries are getting out of hand.
- jc looked phenomenonal.
- jesse get shafted with his playing time.

Has to be. there is no exuse for pro athletes pulling muscles so often. It is due, to some extent to inadequate stretching, but probably more to strenght imbalance. For example, sprinting builds the femoral quadrecepts. This leaves the hamstrings relatively weak. If the athlete doesn't work at strenghtening the hamstrings, they will suffer injuries. With the strength & conditioning coaches, availability of health clubs & home gyms, there is no excuse for them not to come to camp properly conditioned. Their careers depend on it.

The moment the Redskins-Vikings game kicks off, everyone will completely forget every non-injury-related detail of the 4 preseason games.

Yeah, its only preseason and it looks like the team hasn't learned a thing since the end of July but im sure it will all magically come together at about 7:04pm Sept 11th. I Hope.

It's all part of the master plan, to lull Minnesota and Dallas into a false snese of security...

I don't think Sellers was an accident-- he's been crushing runner elsewhere. I don't know why the Skins have been so late experimenting with him as a Riggins type of back. He seems to be a valid short yardage guy and well as a running FB when Portis is playing, or even a backup for Portis.
Brandon and ARE are terrific, as is Moss. Time to give Campbell a shot at number one with the three of them on the field. Could be awesome.
Holdman's got to go, and we've got to stop wasting time in exhibition games with Cartwright. We know what he can do. Actually, I think (of the running backs) only Portis and maybe Sellers can rise about the ordinary.

According to the post game show (Bram mentioned it, I think, or maybe Kevin Sheehan), they are looking for ways to get CP rest without taking him out of the game. One way is to split him out wide and do a quick hand off to Mike Sellers.

Last year it all magically came together in the 4th quarter on a Monday night in Dallas and we woke up Tuesday morning 2-0.
Everyone just relax. It's only preseason. I might be somewhat concerned if we had a new head coach but we don't. We have Joe Gibbs, the greatest football coach of all time. We have the best coaching staff in football. They now what they're doing. Just trust them. We will be ready when the games start to count and once the real games start all this preseason stuff will be forgotten.

we were the last team in the NFL to report to training camp that may have something to do witht this.

I don't actually know the numbers, but Gibbs' pre-season record is notoriously poor. Its a glorified scrimmage to Joe, and he couldn't care less if we win. He is more interested in guys getting real game looks, and be able to hit someone that is on an opposing team for a change.

Sellers career #'s. 2 carries for 3 yards.

And 1 TD.
Edit:
BTW his receiving numbers are 38 rec. 360 yds. 13 TDs.
Pretty good to score a TD on more than 1/3 of your receptions, and 1/2 of your carries. I might also point out that when a play goes for a TD, the receiver/runner has gone the maximum yards allowable on the play.

the guys up front seemed to get really excited and block well on those three runs, it didn't look like he got touched at the line of scrimmage on a single one of them...

This shows that he's very effective near the goal line. He's definitely a guy I want on the field inside the 10.

I'm pretty sure that even his lineman didn't want to be in his way. That's why there were such gaping holes for him tio run through.
Mike Sellers is too much man in the backfield for any opposing defense.
I'm predicting 7-8 TDs for him this year, 3 from the goal line.
