But I'll be the first to say that Bush is no Reagan. I wish he was...but, as of yet, he falls well short of the standard Reagan set. It's not his fault, per se...it's just that the bar (in my mind, at least) was set so high, that few will be able to achieve what he was able to achieve...and communicate it in the manner that he was able to (no one is ever...EVER going to compare the communication skills of Reagan with those of Bush and say that they were on par with each other).

I have nothing but respect for Reagan the man and the president, although I am a little too young to have been up on the issues of the day when he was president.

I wish Bush was another Reagan too.

You are absolutely correct. Especially considering that much of that debate is theory, and that there are far more variables than can be calculated into the mix.

There will never be another Reagan. IMO he was one of the best presidents this country ever had. Bush IMO is the closest thing to Reagan we have now as far as his philosophy goes.

I don't know how Bush and Reagan could be used in the same sentence with great president. Heck, I don't even know how Bush and Reagan can be used in the same sentence.

Bush is an idiot. Reagan was not. Bush tried to cut pay and benefits for our troops. Reagan tried and succeeded on giving more pay and benefits. Bush can't even speak English. Reagan could....very well.

Thats all I feel like typing for now.

Go cry on your pillow. Bush is our president for another FOUR years. It's been a great week. Not only did Bush get re-elected, but the republicans gained seats in the senate and house.

I'm a little young to remember clearly, but I don't believe Reagan was exactly thought of as a brainiac at the time.

Also, whether you believe the Carl Rove conspiracy theories ("Bush's Brain" book and documentary) or not, there is just no way that Bush is an "idiot," though sometimes it seems like he is doing his best to play one on TV.
