I know it sounds crazy to all of us rational people who have been watching this clown show year after year. But there's no salary cap on paying a head coach. Whatever $$ it would take to lure Saban away would be worth every penny to Snyder because it would be one of those moves that could get people back in the stadium again. Saban has been at Alabama for 12 years. Make him the highest paid coach in the league. I have to think Nick Saban would be a better option than Steve Spurrier was or than Jim Zorn was and it does seem very much like a Dan Snyder move. There are worse options. To be clear, I'm not calling for any of this to happen. I just have this feeling this is what they're headed towards.
I agree. Even though it would be an obvious Snyder splashy move, I wouldn't hate it. I'm sure Saban has had multiple NFL offers every year, you hear the rumors every year and then you see Bama dig a little deeper into their pockets! He already makes more than any coach in the NFL, it's probably part of his contract that he is paid higher than the highest paid NFL coach!
