1 day to go and the guys with the best track record of trading into the #2 spot are ready to make this happen again
this is a win/win - they don't think that Cousins is all that great and it gives them the 'splashy' draft pick they want & need to hype ticket sales
PLUS
if things don't work out so great for the offense this season they can point to how much better the franchise is getting for the future
can't wait to see what these 2 bozos will do to the franchise tomorrow night ...

btw - I love the mock draft that Lake Lewis did as well - shame that we don't have guys in charge that will do this ...

Yeah, we'll find out soon enough. I've heard the noise about a Cousins/49ers trade too. That seems really hard to believe but with this franchise... who knows?
We've seen the splashy stuff for years. I wish those guys would realize that what we want to see is something that looks like competence.

agreed - these bozos could really make everyone change their minds BIG TIME if they would just not be so stupid with this draft
it's amazing how easy it is to show that you get it - hopefully these 2 don't screw it up again

Man. I gotta say one thing that really stood out to me watching the draft last night was how much it sucks to be a team that needs a quarterback.
Look at all of the players some of these teams had to pass on. Trading away multiple picks to move up one spot for Trubisky. Damn.

+1
also got to give a lot of credit to the Redskins for keeping Cousins - that's a very good move IMO
maybe these guys are finally getting a grasp of what it takes

I said the same exact thing to my buddy last night after seeing what teams had to give up to get their QB. Unreal. Hopefully this makes management wake up and pay Kirk.

No doubt, man. I mean look at what we just went through with the RG3 fiasco. Its insane that we would be willing to put ourselves in that position again.

Three 2nd/3rd round talents that teams clearly reached on is the reason Allen fell to us. I was, like, "no way"!!!

1st round graded prospects still on the board:
Dalvin Cook, RB
Malik McDowell, DT
Forrest Lamp, OG
Caleb Brantley, DT
#49 won't get any of them.
But #33 is rumored to be available.
Would we trade the #49 and #81 (3rd round) to move up to #33?

Kind of an interesting story about SF. Apparently offered the Skins their 2d, 3d and 4th round picks for #17 this year, trying to move up to get Reuben Foster.
That's a pretty tempting haul. Probably speaks to how excited they were that Jonathan Allen was still on the board. Not willing to pass on that one I guess.

Oh, very young one... anyone who says that didn't live through Heath Shuler or Michael Westbrook.

hah. I lived through both, old man!
Will admit I didn't follow the draft as closely in those days. Was Shuler really a "dumb" pick? Or more a surprise bust? And Westbrook was actually decent for a couple years, yeah? (I guess two out of seven isn't really what you hope for from your first rounder.)
Final question. Desmond Howard is our all time worst first round wtf pick. True or false?

He always stands out to me as a huge WTF pick in retrospect. But looking at this bleacher report article is a painful reminder.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1989 ... ns-history
I somehow forgot that we passed on Adrian Peterson to draft Laron Landry #6.
Though he wasn't the worst player in the world, he was drafted far too high and produced far too little for the Redskins. It hurts a little more knowing that Washington could have drafted Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch, Darrelle Revis or Adrian Peterson with the sixth overall pick.
Landry has one Pro Bowl appearance in his career, which came in 2012, his first season with the New York Jets. Willis, Revis, Lynch and Peterson have 21 combined appearances, or 5.25 each, for their careers.

2005. #9. Carlos Rogers.
Demarcus Ware, Shawn Merriman, Aaron Rodgers, Roddy White, and Logan Mankins were all still on the board.

lol. Sooooooooooooooo bad. Landry and Rogers are both prime examples of the drafting for need issue.

Yep, but the reason 2005 and Carlos Rogers wins for me is they took Jason Campbell #25, one pick after Green Bay took Aaron Rodgers.
How much different would the last decade have been if the Skins had drafted Aaron Rodgers?

Can you imagine Joe Gibbs with Aaron Rogers??? Easily would have been the best qb he would have worked with.

Landry and Rogers are far from being bad picks.
Landry played well while he was here. Also had a great playoff game vs Seattle 2ints.
Definitely should have kept him. Maybe things would have worked out for him here?
Carlos Rogers was a solid cover corner always had deflections but dropped ints. He could of been a solid no.2 corner for years. He played well in San Francisco as well.
Those were two solid players who were victims of Redskins bad front office.
Why would you just let your 1st round picks walk?
I wish we had a good GM for Gibbs 2.0.
It wouldn't have mattered much who we drafted with the front office we had. The talent would only flourish to an extent because the front office would fail to put all the necessary pieces together.
Lavar Arrington had his best season under Schottenheimer 10 sacks. What happened next Snyder fires Schottenheimer.
Stephon Davis I believe led the league in rushing one year. Spurrier gets hired and let's him go!
Probably the dumbest move ever for a first year head coach.

Is it a coincidence Desmond Howard was a SuperBowl MVP for the Green Bay Packers?
We have some stability now. But I contend that it the environment and circumstances all have a part in a players success.
Had we drafted Demarcus Ware he would of likely been put in a 4-3. Probably would of gotten less sacks.
