sorry DM - we really do not have much of a chance of making the playoffs, if any ... 25% is not even close

there was a serious lack of effort out there last night and these coaches and players looked like they just do not care

if these players and coaches don't make a huge effort these next 2 games, this little weasel owner we have will not handle this well
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Redskins will not make the playoffs if they consistently play like they did against Carolina. Ok...that's obvious. However, it seems that the team has a slick passing game and nothing else. Gruden will not call running plays. Defense cannot stop the run or the pass. I'll hope they beat Chicago, but this is essentially an 8-8 team.

at the beginning of the season we all thought that this is an 8 or 9 win franchise

at the bye we all looked at the schedule and wondered if we could win 2 of the next 6

at 6-3-1 and after looking like a pretty good team beating the Packers - we maybe got our hopes up too much ...

we lost 4 games this season we should have won - very disappointing finish

We only need the Bucs to lose one game, and we need Dallas to beat Detroit. If we win out, we'll be in.

wrong - we need to win both games AND for the Buccaneers AND the Packers to lose 1 game
we were the 6th seed Monday afternoon and now we're the 8th seed

with the lack of effort on MNF - we will have a hard time beating the bears on Saturday

No, you're wrong and you have no idea how the tiebreaker works.

If Detroit loses to Dallas, it doesn't matter what happens with the Packers since they play Detroit in Week 17, and that game would be for the division. Whoever wins that game wins the division, and either way (if Detroit loses to Dallas), both teams finish 9-7 at worst. If the Packers win out, they'll be 10-6 and win the division, but the Lions would still be 9-7 and out of the 6th seed. The Bucs lose one more game at at best, they finish 9-7. If we win out, we're 9-6-1. We would then be the 6th seed over Detroit/Green Bay and the Bucs.

[-X - you're grabbing at straws here - we need to win out and we need BOTH the Buccaneers and the Packers to lose 1 game

the Lions are not a factor if BOTH the Buccaneers and Packers win both games

PLUS - the Redskins will be very lucky to beat the bears - they need to find the desire to win - there was none in the last game

What we need this week:
A) We beat CHI (duh). This better happen.
B) TB loses to the Saints. This could go either way.
C) GB loses to MIN OR DET loses to DAL Monday. GB will probably win at home; it'll be interesting to see how DAL plays since they've got homefield.
If all the above happens, all we need next week is a win.
If we lose, we're out (I think?).
If A and C happen, we need a win AND a Tampa loss next week.
If A and B happen, we need a win AND DET to beat GB next week (I think).
So, go us, go NO, and go DAL ( :puke: ). I don't like going against Green Bay.

To explain: Let's assume we win both (9.5-6.5), Tampa splits (9-7), Detroit loses both (9-7), and Green Bay wins both (10-6). GB wins the division, and we have a better record than TB or DET for the Wild Card. Now if Detroit splits and Green Bay wins both, it'd be 10-6 for each team.

We do not need the Packers to lose.

As long as Dallas beats Detroit on Monday night we don't care who loses the last game between Detroit and Green Bay.

Today's results have us at 51%.

Dallas beating Detroit would boost that significantly.

I stand corrected - I saw us having to get over both the packers and the buccaneers

we win next week and the packers win and we're in no matter what the buccaneers do - we do need the pukes to beat the lions

OK - let's do this and hopefully we get the 'easy road' to the Super Bowl which would somehow have us playing the pukes

We get in with a win next week, AND a Lions loss tomorrow OR a Lions win next week. Preferably the former, as the latter game will probably be flexed.

EDIT: BTW, using the ESPN Playoff Machine, if we win, we could go to Atlanta (no thanks; their offense is beastly); Detroit (I wouldn't mind another shot); Seattle (for the 4th time in 5 playoff appearances; I'd like to win there); or Green Bay (NO THANK YOU. I know we beat them, but A) that was at home; B) they haven't lost since we beat them; and C) Rodgers is playing ridiculously well, plus that defense is playing pretty well too).

we just need to get into the playoffs it doesn't matter who we play

I'd love to get a shot at the pukes as they are not near as good as they think they are

Devil's advocate here with a question, so what happens if Detroit wins tonight? Not saying nor advocating
Dallas will fix the game just to screw you. But I would think that IF you need us to win tonight, plus you'll
need to win the final game next week...A loss tonight by Dallas would officially eliminate you from any/all
chances at a playoff spot

is this accurate?

No, it's inaccurate. If Detroit wins then a win by them over Green Bay coupled by a Redskin win over the Giants puts the Redskins in the playoffs.

If Dallas wins tonight a Detroit/Green Bay tie should work too since we beat Green Bay.

I see...A win by Dallas would be nice but not required, though you are secretly praying they
somehow win tonight!

No, that's the only scenario where we don't make the playoffs with a Dallas win tonight and a Redskins victory next week. GB wins the division over DET in a tie, and we lost to Detroit so they take the final WC spot.

Assuming the Redskins win next week:
A Dallas victory tonight - We're in, barring a GB-DET tie.
A Dallas loss tonight - We're in with a DET victory next week.

Devil's advocate again - GB I doubt loses next week, so in the hypothetical only, A Lions win
tonight but a guaranteed loss next week to end the season means???

GB is playing Detroit on Sunday? if the Lions lose tonight? your in, IF they Detroit wins? you would need
them (Detroit) to tie with the Packers combined with a Redskins win over the Giants...so? my question is
what IF (hypothetically) Detroit wins tonight but manages to lose to the Packers next week

your game against the Giants win/lose would essentially mean nothing since there would
be NO way you could make the post season

Is there even anything for Dallas to play for tonight? Are they going to take the night off? Three weeks of sitting back may not be the best idea IMO, but why risk injury. Is it better to rest players with the possibility of some slight rust or risk injury.
