I'm so impressed with the way that Scot and this FO is managing and handling this incredible part of the year when mis-direction and absolute deceit is the order of the day - we may add a free agent or 2 but this franchise will shortly become the model for how to rebuild a franchise

I love how Ozzie and the Ravens (and the Giants + NE) are getting kudos for their free agent signings - the Redskins used to be 'the best' at this time of the year - this season, I think we've done a better job than many other franchises by not signing expensive or previous high draft picks that for some reason did not work out but now, just because they're going to a more successful franchise their play on the field is going to suddenly improve - what a load of media BS - Scot and this franchise are doing a really great job by almost doing nothing
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The sports media is so goofy about FA reporting. For three weeks leading up to free agency they do all of this reporting about how ineffective most free agent signings turn out to be. The numbers and history prove it. Then they get caught up in free agency and tell us how these teams that signed all of the top guys had the best off season.

We've been the off season champs far too many times to buy into this nonsense anymore.

The whole thing is just too obvious IMO. There may be a few exceptions, but smart teams do not let good players walk away in free agency.

I know it's only the Bleacher Report but ...

The Washington Redskins have offered Vernon Davis a contract, hoping to bring the tight end to the East Coast.

Put two dangerous TE's on the field with Garcon/Jackson, and Cousins will repeat his performance of 2015... It would really match up to his skill set. With the confidence he gained last year, he would start playing terrific offense right from the start.

Would be an interesting move, no doubt.

I don't doubt the BR story either. My guess is that the team offered him a very team friendly deal, and he will bide his time to see if anything better comes his way. One of the benefits of not having fantasy football duo Vinny & Dan signing our FAs.

Good. Now offer one to Ronnie Hillman.

I'm pretty sure Pierre Thomas will be back here by training camp. Probably same thing as Vernon Davis. Just waiting around to see if any better offers come along first.

Man, he could do so well here. Our other receivers will open up plenty of space for him to move, catch the ball, and run.

Redskins are hosting Anquan Boldin for a visit today, two sources tell @MasterTes and me.

Funny. I was wondering the other day if they might have any interest in Boldin.

Hmm. Jackson, Garcon, Reed, Boldin, and Davis sounds like a formidable passing threat.

35 years old but I'd take him over Roberts if the price was right.

Here's what NFL.com is reporting. The comment about Garcon is noteworthy:

"Boldin was never fleet of foot, and at 35 years old, he won't break away from coverage. However, he remains productive, thanks to a big body, strong hands and willingness to fight through defenders.

Despite playing with subpar quarterbacks last season in San Francisco, Boldin put up 789 yards on 69 receptions with four touchdowns in 14 games. The previous two seasons in the Bay Area he surpassed the 1,000-yard mark. Boldin is easily the top veteran receiver left on the market.

The Redskins are looking to fill out the roster with a veteran receiver behind DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, promising second-year wideout Jamison Crowder and pass-catching tight end Jordan Reed. With speed already in-house, the Redskins could look to add a possession receiver like Boldin, who would bring needed leadership to the receiver room.

The visit could also be a move to entice Garcon to agree to an extension that would lower his scheduled $10.2 million salary-cap hit. There is a slight chance the Redskins might consider cutting Garcon loose after two seasons under Jay Gruden in which the wideout failed to broach the 800-yard mark. "

I'm sure he is. Those guys looked like they had a blast last year (and that was fun to watch).

They're best friends. Of course Baker is lobbying to re-sign Knighton.

Word is that Pot Roast has "slimmed down"! hahah.

I wrote a few weeks ago that I wouldn't be surprised to see him back here after he tested the market. I'd be happy to see him back at a team friendly deal today.

Yep.

Its pretty cool to see how Baker is becoming such a face of that defense now. Am I wrong about that?

I'd be happy to see Pot Roast back another year. Add in two or three young dudes via the draft next month. Would be a step in the right direction.

Me too. I was a little puzzled that the team didn't seem to think he had played that well. I thought he did a good job — but of course I am no expert. Maybe this offseason chess match will help bring back a leaner, hungrier version of the man. I really want to see him as a Redskin again.

I think it was more that he didn't play $4m/year well. Mostly due to weight and conditioning. I've heard it said that he would wear down and wasn't there late in games.

It would be really nice to land him for another year though. Especially if we draft a guy this year, would buy him some time to develop.

After meeting with the Patriots yesterday and the Redskins today ...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... ins-offer/

seems the local media think he's headed to the Pats ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

If that's the case, I can respect that the team set their own price and then stuck to it. Gotta work your plan.

It would definitely jack up the toughness quotient of our receiver corps... for sure.

The possibility of having Jackson, Garcon, Crowder, and Boldin (along with Reed) would definitely make our offense pretty intimidating on paper.
