As of yesterday's (Wednesday) weigh-in, both Hank and Cooley are on the roster. Both are 6 pounds heavier than last year's weights.

Those days are looooooong gone my friend.. like Yup said it's really just a business now.

Shout outs to Stephen Jackson in St. Louis who is redoing his contract to make sure he'll retire a Ram. He knows he'll never get a SB with them but he doesn't care. Good for him!!!

So you would play for the Cowpies, and try your best to beat the Redskins twice a year? I'm just sayin'.

I added back the original quote. Does that clear it up?

 of course we as "fans" would say that bro. We're talking about athletes who aren't playing for their favorite teams DS.

hah. I can't really tell if you're serious about this or not, but I'm not sure why it would be surprising. You're telling me you would rather play for the Redskins for $2 million this year than for the Cowboys for $5 million??? :)

Yeah, I don't think so.

Maybe Hightower would take the $2 Mill because he grew up a Redskin fan but I think other players would be like.. "seeeee ya DC". lol

Yes, that's what I'm telling you.
Of course, I'd have my agent try to use the Cowpie offer to get more from the Skins. But I would never play with a star on my helmet.

Well, your scenario is way too extreme. There's no way only two teams would want you, where one wants to pay $3 million more than the other. If I had to leave the Skins to work, I would insist on going to an AFC team, and if I ever played the Skins, I would want to do my best against them so they would want to get me back.

Grant Paulsen‏@granthpaulsen

Chris Cooley: "I'm running at full speed right now. I feel much better with the way my body's working. Better than the last couple years."

Grant Paulsen‏@granthpaulsen

Chris Cooley: "I feel good. I have no concerns." When asked if he was 100%? "Yeah. My injuries from last year are feeling much better, yes."

Grant Paulsen‏@granthpaulsen

ChrisCooley said his knee's not having any 'issues' right now. Says hes no't spending time in training room. Participated this AM. #Redskins

Doesn't look likes like Cooley is ready to play.

Can't say the same for Jamaal Brown and Tanard Jackson.

Right tackle Jammal Brown was the only player not at today's walkthrough. We'll ask Mike Shanahan about it after the pm practice. #Redskins

This at least accounts for Hank at the am walkthrough. Does this am practice eliminate players chances for the active PUP or is the evening practice the determing factor?

Not so fast LPJ:

Doesn't sound like HIghtower will. Hankerson most likely will but did not talk to him today.

by Rich Tandler 1:51 PM

Tandler spoke to Hhightower who admits not being 100%, but since Hank was at the walkthrough, he expects him to practice, but ....

No PUP for Hank!

Hank is ready! Let's hope that he doesn't experience any problems the rest of the way.

2) Cooley, it seems as if that nagging injury is not going away either.

Cooley - Too early to tell, but at least he is on the field and he is saying the knee is 100%.

Hankerson definitely might be out but Cooley's health situation (and his cap number) are still under consideration.

Hank in. Cooley's salary? Too early to tell what the Redskins are willing to pay. The first concern is at what level can he play.

Let the competition at WR and TE begin!

I hear you. I have sen the reports myself as well. Hank really wants to play. We will see if he lasts. I hope he does.

Cooley can say anything he wants. He is still a question mark on many people's minds.

Training Camp will not lie in both cases. I am hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.

The strange thing here is that the focus has been on Cooley and Hank because not much info was coming out about their known injury issues, but the guy who ends up on the PUP is Brown who had the most info, and positive at that, coming out.

I enjoyed the thread. Definitely gave us something to talk about during the waning weeks of the boring offseason.

Redskins.con lists Cooley at 237#, Hank at 205#. I don't think that is heavier than last yr.
