I wasnt happy with the idea of us trading up to get him at first but the more I think about it the more I like it. We just need to go ahead a get this trade done and the best players we can in free agency.

BOOOO...on that other thread....puke on the Browns getting RGIII
Let's not forget: Jeff Fisher and Les Snead, HC and GM of Rams have solid relations with Shanny and Allen....(gentlemen's handshake)

RGIII TO D.C. Mark it DOWN...!!! According to this:
2. *Washington Redskins: (via trade with St. Louis): Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor: Though St. Louis general manager Les Snead and coach Jeff Fisher would likely prefer to trade this pick outside of the conference, Washington will end up making the most aggressive (and fruitful) play for RG3.
Furthermore, there’s history here. Rams president Kevin Demoff has a strong relationship with Redskins front-office honcho Bruce Allen, while Jeff Fisher and Mike Shanahan have a rich friendship that spans decades. Though I feel a bit like Bill Simmons with his fascination with hypothetical NBA trades, I think Washington has the goods to get this done and I just don’t see Cleveland or Seattle finding a way.
Sources say the Rams are asking for the equivalent of the No. 1 overall pick in exchange for Griffin. If you reference the tried and true trade value chart, that’s 3,000 points — a whole, whole lot. The ‘Skins — desperate for a franchise quarterback and a return to relevance in the NFC East — could give the Rams the sixth overall pick (1,600 points), their second (520 points) and third (240) round picks, as well as their first-round pick for next year. That’s a king's ransom and should be enough, but if the Rams need a veteran player, the ‘Skins could throw one in the mix, too. RG3 to D.C. Mark it down!

you are aware that Fisher and Shanahan are very good friends
IF the Redskins really want RGIII and the Browns do not want to beat our offer ............ there's no doubt
RGIII WILL BE A REDSKIN
I'm STIFF FOR GRIFF
this whole thing about them being friends is so freaking stupid. these guys are in a results based business. the rams will trade the pick to the best offer they get. if it's the redskins it's not because their friends.
Brian billick and Jim tassel are close friends. billick hired fassel one year, fired him the next

NEWSFLASH.... Brown NOT giving up pick #22
we need to sweeten the pot............
Report: Browns unwilling to trade No. 22 pick League sources tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the Redskins continue "to rate as the frontrunner" to acquire the Rams' No. 2 pick, and that the Browns are currently "unwilling" to part with their No. 22 pick.
The Redskins are reportedly willing to trade both their 2012 and 2013 first-round picks, but don't want to part with their 2012 second-rounder, which "isn’t acceptable to the Rams." The Dolphins reportedly "aren't eager to do business with the Rams" after being spurned by coach Jeff Fisher. There's also "no chance" of a trade with the Seahawks because the Rams don't want to face Baylor's Robert Griffin III in the division. If the Browns hold fast on not dealing their second first-round pick — their trump card on the rest of the league in any potential trade — it's worth questioning if they were ever serious about moving up to select RGIII.

The longer this goes on, the more it benefits us. Right now the Rams pick is as highly valued as it's going to get.
I want us to wrap up that trade as soon as possible, but if we successfully keep St. Louis interested for a few more weeks (until after the FA QBs hit the market), that will help us in the long run. Provided we still get the pick, of course.

I try to make a point of not getting hooked on one specific player in the draft, and hoping that the Redskins draft that player. There's so much due diligence to be done yet, and so many things that could go wrong. The fact is there is NOTHING to guarantee that RGIII will be the player we all hope.
But hope is what this franchise needs more than almost anything else. Hope and a bona fide franchise quarterback. I admit it - I've broken my own rules and I'm all in for RGIII.

There's a lot of posturing and false information out there
the Rams have to hold out until they are sure that they are getting the max value from this trade
at the same time the potential suitors are trying to make out like they are not going to make a stupid offer
in the end - the Redskins will way over-pay and get their guy
good job by this FO
