can you believe this schedule - I mean, we have played badly (even terribly at times) and we are still only 2-3 - after this game we might be 3-3 and if we could have just held on last week we could be 4-2

And if we coulda beat the Lions we would be 5-1.... OMG WE'RE A PLAYOFF TEAM.

Yep, and that was the easy part of the schedule
The good stuff is just around the corner.

the last half of this season is where HEROHAMO comes in with something like "when the going gets tough the tough get going"

well actually - if we'd managed to get very lucky we could have beaten the giants too ... and then we'd be 6-0 and even though we'd still be a bad team many would be saying "OMG - we're a playoff team"

that was what I found kind of curious last year when we were 6-2 and we were not really anywhere near as good as the record indicated

I've got to admit - that was as deflating as it can get - I do think that the defense is trying to help but the offense is just about as bad as I've ever seen

Well, at least the team has been nice enough to let us know early on that this season is a wash. It's only 6 games in, and the Redskins have clearly demonstrated that they're a bottom 5 team. Once the grieving process is complete, I'll have a lot more free time on Sundays!

This is rock bottom... things are looking up though. We can start losing to better teams now.
Thank god we don't play Tennessee this week...

That's funny. And I like your optimism, it can't get worse then this! Things are looking up!
BTW, with Carolina winning someone other then the Giants who beat us won a game against someone besides us! That IS an improvement!

As bad as this season has been. This team can actually turn it around. If they start now.
Oline is really really hurting us. Maybe convert some of the Dline guys to Oline?
Montgomery as a fill in guard or tackle? Golston as a fill in tackle or guard? Why not try it?
Anyhow this team really really needs a win. I hope it happens against the Eagles this week. I am all out of ideas. Come on SKins help me out here!

I applaud your optimism. but right now, the only thing winning would accomplish is hurting our draft pick status and giving a glimmer of hope to Snyder that he could continue running this franchise into the ground. This season needs to be bad and us fans need to continue to show that however loyal we may be, we are not going to continue to accept Snyder's mis-management.

HH - like DEHog suggested, you really should change the thread title at least

Actually, any salvaging of the season would be detrimental to the greater cause.
Getting this season fixed in any way would be nothing but false validation of an M.O. that is flawed at its core.
So, while taking any and all wins that I can get -- particularly against the UBS (Unmentionable Blue Stars) -- Snyder's focus has to be on January 2010, when the real fixing has to begin.
Put this season in neutral and just ride it out.

Well we all know it is not the playcalling. Sherm actually called a fine game.
Execution was well terrible.
All my hopes now are for the future. Here is to a great draft and Lord willing a new GM.
JC is most likely gone. His demeanor just brings the whole offense down.
Positives from the game. Devin Thomas actually looked ok. Fred Davis needs to learn how to block but will be a viable receiving threat.

Come on HERO!!!! Do not give up.
I always have seen this thread as the ONE glimmer of hope (albeit with a sense of humour). I did not translate it literally as a way to the playoffs but as a sign of ongoing support for improvement, whatever that was.
So, to put it simply:
We cannot stop supporting the Team and the players NO MATTER what the score of a game or the number of losses. A fan shows who he or she is when times are hard, not when times are rosy.
Let's face it:
1) There are things that will not be fixed this season. The OL, for the most part, should be replaced.
2) The QB and passing game cannot produce more than a TD in a game.
3) The tougher part of he schedule is ahead.
4) Some of our key players are injured and they will not be back this season.
But
a) there are some individual stories of improvement, such as Fred Davies, Carter, Haynesworth, etc that are worth supporting.
b) if ridicule and pressure by the fans and media continue, the owner may be compelled to hire a competent GM to hire a good HC and a good QB
c) We will have a good draft next season.
So, please keep this thread alive.
... maybe with a different angle but keep it up !

Dude, Devin Thomas and Fred Davis both had a receiving touchdown.
1 (Thomas) +1 (Davis)=2
There are a lot of issues, don't make sutff up to boot.

You know it's bad when the super positive folk are turning in their jackets. LMAO
You gotta become apathetic like me, it stops the pain. I called Jake as the game was winding down, he had already left and I was sitting there l

What he should have said is that the qb and passing game cannot produce more than a TD in a game that does not come in garbage time at the end of the game when the opposing team starts backing off on defense.

We could go in to a lot of 'what should have...'
