I've been in thread all day. I just can't find out what pick was given up, if it's conditional or what year. With everyone saying something different, I just want the details.
Oh why wait for the truth? That's pesky, it's far more worth while to scream about our Front Office being irresponsible, not paying Derrick Dockery his 80 bazillion dollars (mind you, that's Derrick "False Start" Dockery), not getting more "value" for Patrick Ramsey, etc.
Bleh.

I feel ya bro, I would lean toward the CBS report, since as Irn Bru pointed out, we don't have the 4th in 2008.
Either way, I like bringing in a LG, just didn't want to start giving up early 4th round picks for an aging vet. Early 4th (which is what I hope we have this year) is only a few slots away from being a 1st day pick.

Wait 'till next year syndrome.
Vinny is that you?
Look at the great guys we got this year.Wait 'till next year syndrome? LOLOLOL. We've not been "winning now" since 1992.
You're right, The 'Skins should just pack it in this year and head right to the 08 draft.....My nephew is the best player on his pee wee football team, we should just wait around for the next 10 years & draft him with a 4th round pick.
Im right we should pack it in? Talk about jumping to conclusions... I never said nothing of the sort. People downplay the draft too much.
*waits for another post full of assumptions.

Which has me thinking - since it's still not clear what exactly we gave up for Kendall, ol' Tom should be able to get us 2-3 more players for that pick! Get Matt Millen on the phone! Tell him we'll give him both Taylor Jacobs and Rod Gardner, as well as our 2008 4th rounder for Calvin Johnson. I don't care who you are, that's 2 for 1 plus a pick, and that's value!

What's going on here?!?!?! Where did all this incredible value of the 4th round pick come from. Has anyone even looked to see who we've drafted the past 10+ years when we've had a 4th round pick? We got a bunch of nothing, Shawn Barber, and Albert Connell. C'mon. The guy hasn't even played a single down for the team, and some think he's not worth a 4th??? Let it play out a little, 'cause if he stays health and plays well for one season, it'll be worth the pick.

I don't disagree that we shouldn't be pissing away these draft picks. And I don't think anyone is arguing that the Duckett trade was a good one. None of that changes the fact that we needed a left guard, and now we have a good one.
This trade was necessary -- the mistake was not addressing this hole through free agency.

Dumb question alert!!!!!!!!!!
Warning dumb questions here.
Off subject but does anyone else find it odd. That AA couldn't cover my grandmother on a route.....But he goes to the best D and is a shoe in starter....... Or maybe the bears, just hasn't been challenged deep yet..
Anyway, so why wouldn't he be able to start this weekend? Can't you just call the play, and then tell him to pass block or run block and zone or man? I mean isn't this guy a vet?
And

Your joking right?
Chris will be back, and the line will be great, and he might not play a game.

Well, one can hope right.

It would have been a lot more costly to have done it back in March/April
Kendall should be a nice replacement for DD, but had we went after him earlier I'm sure the Jets would have wanted a lot more. Dock will get a average of about $10M a year, the Skins get a guy of the same skill level if not better for a third of that.

We need a left guard for this season and essentially need a backup tackle.
With this trade we got two players.
We got Todd Wade back from guard land.
We got a starter from a 4th or 5th round pick.
(By the way the odds of a player starting after the 3rd round is less than 30 percent. So anytime you can trade a 4th 5th 6th or 7th for a starter that fills a need you should do it.)
This is great but im still upset about Marshall because we could have traded him easily for a draft pick instead of just cutting him.

uhh got excited there, wasn't thinking. Buuuuut, with Chris back I think Todd would be better. It's the combo of Heyer and Wade that wasn't pretty. And if its the hit on JC that got Danny(or Gibbs or whoever decided to get the guy) wanting to bring him in, wouldn't that mean he should and gotten a Tackle. Wasn't it Heyer who missed not Puchillo?

I know, I was saying guard were asking for and getting stupid money during the first 2-3 weeks. After that all the good ones were gone and I feel they were all over paid. If we could have made this same deal (which I doubt) before camp opened that would have been great.
The FO actually looks good on this one regardless of the pick.

I'm content with this, it's just his age that kills it for me. I guess this will work out...

this should work out fine. I am much more comfortable with him than TW at guard. This guy is proven and can be an immediate starter. GReat pick up!

GUYS LETS ENJOY 08...Most reports in NY have this pick as 09
If thats the case 32 regular season games will play out before Jets have their "moment" with this pick....relax guys....Were better football today and next year because of this....
Kendall can move to center in emergency sitautions as well. This was absolute no brainer on our part....
People watch to much Mel Kiper if you ask me

I love the FO's idea of giving getting 80 cent for every dollar, great way to run a franchise, We'll be in the Super Bowl in no time.
The view from Crenshaw...stick to reports on USC..

2006 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 70 | Key
Alert: BD
Comment:
Kendall is a smart, tough blue-collar veteran. He has good position versatility and in 2005 played both guard and center. He can handle calls and adjustments on the line. He has a good frame and long arms. He has above-average initial quickness into blocking patterns. He understands power angles and position. His arms and decent hands give him some ability to recover in pass protection. He plays with good awareness when helping out against inside games. But Kendall lacks bulk, flexibility and range. He doesn't bend well and struggles to maintain his pad level at the point of attack. He stops his feet on contact and spends too much time on the ground. He doesn't adjust well off the track on drive blocks and struggles to get position on backside cutoffs. He isn't very smooth. He has marginal balance and body control on pulls. He struggles to bend and slide his feet off short pass sets. He has trouble maintaining pocket depth.
That's a pretty ho-hum scouting report but then again rotoworld says this gives us the best guard tandem in the NFC East.
Madden gives him an 85... hmmm

One thing that is being overlooked here , is this give an ability to RUN THE BALL! which goes a long way toward keeping your QB healthy
This is the NFC east, no domes and bad weather late in the season you must run the ball effectively in this division and as much as l like Wade a 6'8" guard cant run block here
sometimes l think the powers that be, over in Ashburn, watch this site just to see what they can stir up next
just wait guys, the season isnt here yet, lm sure the next player transaction will make you all forget about this one
